Sherri is very missed. We love you, Sis.

The service is very important and respectful! Thank you for taking care of my sister. They call back often to keep you posted. They were quick and responsible for all certificates.

At that time, they were very professional, supportive, and efficient. They treated me with kindness and respect when I really needed it. I wasn't in a good place to write a review back then, but now that some time has passed and I'm feeling a bit clearer, I've started the process of moving my husband's ashes into a proper urn and planning for his burial. I reached out to Simple Traditions again to assist with transferring his remains. They not only helped with the transfer but also updated the burial permit for me and guided me on how to obtain his veteran flag. Once again, I was met with warmth and courtesy. Cherie, who assisted me, was knowledgeable and very helpful, guiding me on what steps to take next. She represents the company well. I wholeheartedly recommend Simple Traditions to my family, friends, and anyone else who may need their services.

Communication was easy and personal every time. We are over a hundred miles away from ST headquarters. They honored our request to spend 24 hours with our loved one. When they sent their attendants to pick him up, they were on time and handled David's body with care and reverence. They honored a special request at the gravesite. One of the things we were most grateful: Jacqui was in frequent communication with Hospice to make sure the doctor signed the death certificate so we could have David's ceremony when we needed. Very pleased with Simple Traditions.

My father died on June 11, and we were told we would get his ashes and his death certificate within 7-10 days. After 7 days, my mother called and the woman on the phone was very rude and said she would call when they were ready. After 10 days, my mother called back. The woman on the phone said that the hospital made a mistake and so they didn't have the death certificate yet. My mom started calling daily and each day she would get a different story as to why the death certificate hadn't been registered and why my dad's ashes weren't ready. On July 3rd, my brother went in person to ask, and someone showed him the computer screen and said everything would be ready on Monday, the 7th. When my mom called on Monday, there was a whole new story as to why the death certificate and my dad's ashes weren't ready. At this point, I called and informed them that we would be transferring my dad and that we were going to need a refund. We had my dad transferred that day. Then a few days later, my mom called to confirm the refund check was ready before she drove over there to pick it up. My mom was transferred to a different woman (who identified herself as a manager), who started yelling at my mother as soon as she picked up the phone (thinking it was me on the phone). When my mom went to pick of the check, the woman scoffed as my mom walked out. The lies and the rude treatment from the staff here was unacceptable. They have made a very painful process even more painful. Do not trust them with your loved one.

During such a sensitive and emotional time, her behavior was incredibly unprofessional and lacked basic compassion. She was impatient, dismissive, and even rolled her eyes while we were performing a cultural ritual to honor and say goodbye to our grandmother. We were delayed about 20 minutes because a few family members took a wrong turn, but during that time, we could have been given the opportunity to spend meaningful final moments with our loved one. Instead, that opportunity was taken from us. When we were finally allowed to view our grandmother, we were given only a few seconds, barely enough time to process the moment, while Lizzy counted down with her fingers. It felt rushed, cold, and deeply disrespectful. She then left immediately afterward, offering no support or understanding. This is a beautiful graveyard where our family members are laid to rest, and in the past, we've had directors who were kind, patient, and accommodating. That is why this experience was especially shocking. No grieving family should be treated with such insensitivity. I truly hope no one else has to go through what we experienced.

They previously handled my grandmother's arrangements many years ago, and at that time my parents made pre-need plans. Sadly, when my father passed on February 28, 2026, those plans came into place. From the very first moment, Miller Funeral Home guided us through everything with extraordinary care and steadiness. I want to especially recognize Alex and Vlad, who came to our home the night my father passed. They arrived promptly after the hospice nurse contacted them, and from the moment they entered, their presence brought a sense of calm to an otherwise overwhelming time. They treated my father with profound dignity and respect. Every movement was gentle and deliberate, carried out with a sense of grace that is difficult to put into words, but left a lasting impression on our entire family. They gave us the space and time we needed for our final moments with him, and because of that, those memories feel peaceful rather than traumatic. That is an extraordinary gift. I also want to mention Nick, who was incredibly kind and supportive when we later came to pick up my father's death certificate. Every interaction with the staff reflected the same level of compassion and professionalism. The environment at Miller Funeral Home is calm, nurturing, and thoughtfully maintained. It is also a beautiful setting for services, as we experienced when honoring my grandmother. I recommend Miller Funeral Home without hesitation. Although a burial at the Veteran's Cemetery in Dixon would have been cheaper since my grandfather is an army veteran, we chose fair oaks because of how close it is to our family in Rancho cordova. The grounds are beautiful and well cared for. When you walk through the aisles, some of the graves are 100 years old and others are very recent. Many of the them are well visited and the array of different memorials to look at is astounding and heartbreaking. My grandmother is buried under a nice tree in the back of the cemetery. I like that when we looked up her plot, they included her picture and obituary the family dedicated to her. Only complaint I have is that they picked the wrong obituary and we had to contact them to change it for us. They were very quick to revise and all is good. Eventually my mothers ashes will be interred with my grandmother, as well as my grandfather when he passes. My sister and I will be in the plot beside them eventually. Nice to be able to make plans all at once and get it out of the way.
