These are $35-40 and $55-60 bottles, respectively. The owner gives me some sheepish grin, a shrug, and a "these are allocated products" line. Yeah, for you and for every other store in town. For every store in Kentucky, for that matter. Now, I'm sure they sit behind the shelf collecting dust for quite a while, but occasionally some college-aged kid or newbie comes in, sees Blanton's, recalls that it's a "hard to find" product and pays that price, thinking that's how the market works. Jolly Pumpkin, everything from Founders and Bell's, some rarer items from Mikeller, Black Xantus. I could name much of the selection, but it does not really matter. You will find something, and most everything that has distribution in the area can be found here. Maybe not the drop dead selection that can be found in Chicago, but really good none the less. Plenty of wine and whiskey as well. Service is top notch and friendly. They know their stuff, and are happy to strike up a conversation. Prices without the discount are just a tad high, but not bad at all, or maybe that is just the difference between prices in Southern Illinois and Champaign?
