He was in a uniform shirt, was friendly, identified himself, and got to work. All locks got adjusted as needed. All locks got lubricated! A couple of minor repairs got done. FANTASTIC! We wanted a couple of special character keys. Those are not carried on the truck. Oh well; James had plain blanks and made our keys. Paid for services rendered, and waved good-bye to james. A few hours later, our doorbell rang. It was a guy in full motocycle protective gear. Big helmut with heavy visor, thick leather jacked, protective pants, boots, and a beautiful motorcycle at the curb! Mototcycle man held out to character keys already cut to work in our new locks! A familiar voice (James) said he knew we were disappointed so he cut these - try them and make sure they work. They do! That's beyond the call of service! Thank you, James, so much! The character keys were special to us because the keys we were getting rid of were character keys. My husband had given them to me over 36 years ago when we bought our house and put in our first locks! James and his partner are not the same locksmiths who took care of my brother's car loks many, many years ago, but the work ethic, quality of work, and friendly professional service are just the same. He then 30 seconds later after accepting price tried to upcharge me by an additional $40. I asked why and he said "the lock is old". Then I was able to negotiate back down. He was unable to open the lock anyway and suggested replacing lock completely and said "this will cost a lot more" and further asked for service fee, which he tried to upcharge from quoted price as well. I then tried to confirm who he works with and he told me he doesn't know the name of the employer because he doesn't speak English well. Did not allow him to break the lock down and replace. Overall had a poor experience and quite uncomfortable, but he did get there quickly within about it 20 min as he promised.

The alarm didnt even go off. Then he slams me with the price. I asked for a quote but they said they have to see the car before quoting. I did my due diligence and researched before calling anywhere and had an idea it would he at least $100 to $200. It was 1220pm and and they got there at 1248pm. I asked if there is wiggle room in price and twice was I denied. It took a whole 5min to get done. On top of that, the keys weren't in the car. Turns out I left it in the business. I let them know and they still only wanted to take venmo only no cards. I was working and was on my lunch break running an errand. My $16 grocery run turned into $415. I wasnt in the sticks or anything. I was in the parking lot of a local shopping plaza. It wasn't late night. And it took them 28min to get there. Were they quick and efficient, sure, but the price for exactly the method they used, and total time to get there felt very off balance compared to the quotes I'm definitely getting back on AAA.
