Kevin, Brian, and Terrell actually arrived a bit ahead of schedule, which was fine by us. They were friendly, polite, and very professional. They moved my baby grand piano with grace and ease and I felt totally comfortable having them move it. The rest of the furniture was all expertly covered with pads and shrink wrap and they were loaded up quickly. The move in at the new house went off without a hitch and everything was done in a timely manner. A welcome improvement from the last moving company I used. This company is completely unreliable and unprofessional. I hired them to move four furniture items just 1.5 miles, and they failed spectacularly at completing the job. We scheduled the move for Tuesday. On Monday, they called to warn me about potential delays due to weather. I even offered to reschedule, but they insisted they could still do it--just at a slower pace since I was paying hourly. Come Tuesday morning, an hour and a half before the move, they suddenly tell me that no employees showed up and pushed it to Wednesday. Then, on Wednesday, they pulled the same stunt--no movers available, now pushing it to Thursday. When I asked for a later time on Thursday because my schedule couldn't accommodate their constant failures, I was told that wasn't an option and that they were actually doing me a favor by "squeezing" me in. A favor? Seriously? They left me sleeping on the floor for two nights because they couldn't stick to their commitments. This is beyond unprofessional--it's outright incompetence. I will never use this company again and strongly advise others to stay far away. Update: The owner actually had the audacity to call me and insult me for leaving this review, saying I'm "ignorant" and "ridiculous" for holding them accountable. Then mike tells me he's not gonna pay for it to fix it because the company that hired him online did not pay him $1000. The contract states if there's damages then they do not pay them in their contracts. Mike sent me too inexperienced people to fix the door one was even homeless. I can't begin to describe how horrible our experience was with ABC moving. It started with them not knowing how to pack trucks efficiently. We ended up having to pay for 2 full truck loads (from a separate trucking company that we used) when we only had slightly more that 1 truck of goods (as quoted by multiple companies INCLUDING ABC.). Ended up costing us an extra $1,800 of truck rental. Each truck was only packed to ~50% full and they didn't even get all our stuff on the 2 trucks. I asked why they were doing it that way all day long and no acknowledgment that it was going to be a problem. Absolutely no help from the crew chief or the ABC office when we called at the end of the day to ask how we should handle all of our stuff that wasn't even loaded. Their response was that maybe 2 trucks weren't enough, when they had also quoted the trucking portion of the job and said it would be much lass than 2 trucks!!! My wife and I had to rearrange the stuff on the trucks by ourselves to get the rest loaded. Took many hours the next day and delayed our departure. Both the truck driver, and unloaders on receiving end, both laughed hysterically at how badly the trucks had been packed. ("Wow, you got screwed!" was my favorite quote from the unloader.) I'm most upset at the complete lack of Customer service to be honest, rather than perhaps the honest mistake of sending an head truck loader who had no idea what he was doing. On the unload end, glass shelves that were packed by ABC in paper (paper!) -- shattered. A leather couch had scuffed leather because it was wrapped in saran wrap (!), not furniture blankets. Absolute joke, and again no help from the ABC office because they didn't do the unload. What I learned from the experience: 1. Have the same company handle load, transit, and unload so they can't duck accountability for their incompetence. 2. Stay very clear of ABC "quality" moving. Again, more for the absolutely shameful Customer service than the terrible execution. They had such an opportunity to step up and help us problem solve the issue that they had caused, and totally blew it. read more

I hired ABC to move an upright piano. I was charged for 3 hours because that is their minimum. Debbie never mentioned that minimum to me when getting the quote, just an hourly rate and that they charge 1 hour for drive time. The actual work only took 1 hour. So with the 1 hour work and the 1 hour drive time, I should have paid for 2 hours, about $250. (My quote was $98-128 per hour). However, I was charged $384 + tip. For moving 1 object (heavy and awkward albeit). Had I known about the 3 hour minimum, I would have found more work for them or gone with a different company. You're correct the sheet your employee filled out showed things were scratched and damaged. They are very good at adding those damage codes to the inventory list. Unfortunately, I never saw those codes on the inventory list. Oh well!!! You won because your employees lied on the form which I didn't see and signed. As for the discrepancy on the bid, you pointed that out after I called the day before the move to confirm you were showing up. You proceeded to try and increase your price the day before knowing I was moving the next day. You then proceeded to cancel the move. I absolutely said I would give you a bad comment not because it was a mistake but because you tried to cancelled and tried to increase the price the day before the move. Who does that? Especially, to a customer that has referred people to you and has used you a few times. I overlooked the items you broke in previous moves but this was different. My walls were damaged, many items were damaged or broken, and your employees tried to cover it up . Well good thing for you they lied on the form. Your insurance company did offer me money for some of the broken items and I turned them down and I still have never taken a dime. DO NOT hire this company. If I could give zero stars I would. On our moving day, the crew did not fill the truck to capacity, so we had to hire them for the next day to finish. The crew in the second day left a box of items on the back patio. Luckily, we went back the next day and found it before it rained. ALSO, I had a camera pouch underneath a dresser with cash inside. The crew found the pouch, TOOK the cash, and then put the pouch in a drawer in the dresser. Terrible customer service and I do not recommend using this company! I had to wait almost two months and pay $100 for the company to repair a wall that an employee damaged. During the move, one employee damaged my wall, took pictures of damage and said someone would reach out me. I waited a week and no one reached out. After I called and submitted my own pictures, I never heard back! A month and a half later, I called and asked for the status of my claim and was told someone would call me back and then never did! A few days went by, so I called back and finally received a link for me to pay a $100 deductible for the damage. During the phone call I received an apology for the delay but it was extremely late. Worst moving experience ever. I used ABC Quality movers in Dec 2020. Our experience with them was so terrible/traumatic that I'm just now writing our review. In summary, I hired them to move my elderly parents. They tagged the items to be moved but could not fit everything in the truck. (Side note: They don't know how to pack a truck!!!) I called the office to express my disappointment and asked how they handle this financially since I paid a flat rate based on what they committed to move...but they didn't move it all. Megan said she would call her supervisor and ask. I asked multiple times to speak with this mystery supervisor. My request was flat out ignored. That's never happened to me with a business before. Ever. When she called back, she out of nowhere said that I had threatened non-payment and they were no longer delivering my parents furniture. Meaning my elderly parents were stuck with an empty home during a pandemic. I was floored. I reiterated multiple times that I was absolutely paying them. In fact, they should have already taken 50% upfront! I wanted to know how they handle not meeting their end of the agreement (a fair question about their policy/practice!) She said if I wanted my parents furniture delivered, I had to drive the 45 min to their office that night and pay a fee of $1,790 OVER my binding agreement. Then they would deliver it later than what we agreed to. I was stunned. And heartbroken for my parents. I had no choice but to pay this unethical practice since all their belongings were being held hostage. In total, I pay over $8000 to move a 3bdrm, 1200 sq ft home. That's just unheard of. Read some other reviews online and not just the good ones they pad their organization with by telling us customers they the crew gets a bonus if you say something nice. You'll see a theme. The untruths that occurred after the terrible experience were epic. I greatly appreciate the crew who did their best to apologize. Megan in the office was unprofessional & untruthful...but our moving crew was extremely nice & apologized to me multiple times for the decisions of the office. While I've had better quality crews, they at least recognized what was happening to us. I have moved many times in my life for our careers and there are much better moving companies out there. To the other reviewer who mentioned they wiped off the furniture during a rainy move...you lucky bastard! Wanna know what my guys did? Set boxes on top of wet furniture. Cmon man, that shit leaves watermarks! The 2 younger movers were fine, did the work, got bossed around by 70 year old, manage to keep their pee inside the toilet... All 3 did take a smoke break inside the truck when it was raining out. I don't care ya smoke, but I don't need my items to get secondhand. I don't get the 5 stars this place gets. We picked them because our 1st choice was booked solid for a month (hint, hint, choose McGuires for a great moving experience). They made sure I understood the 1 hour drive time plus actual time working. They walked through & got an idea of everything to take. All 3 worked continuously & efficiently during the move when possible. The exception was when they patiently waited 30 minutes for the old owner to move some stuff at the new house. We had an oversized refrigerators that even went to the basement (taking doors off both the refrigerator & the house). read more

From the start I should have known better. But they came highly recommended by our realtor. The lady I spoke with on the phone was very rude, but I thought we'll maybe she's having a bad day. Any questions I had asked she cut me off before my sentence was completely finished & was very snippy with her answers. I have never hired a company to move before & wasn't sure how it all worked. Sadly I wish I had moved them myself. We set up a 12:00 move time. 3 guys smelling strongly of cigarette smoke showed up at 9am. So we decided to take the burden off & not let them know it was happening a few days earlier. So when the movers showed up 3 hours early my parents were still home. Literally moving a bedroom set & living room furniture should have been simple. The only thing they had to take apart was the bed. Which later one of the guys asked me how it went back together!? Uggh didn't you or another guy take it apart??? Yea but he couldn't remember...they were pretty much done with getting all the furniture in when I noticed their entertainment center had a big chunk out of it. I asked what happened? One of the guys said that shouldn't have happened but I'm sorry. He asked who brought it in & no one admitted to doing so. Well this was horrific considering it wasn't even my furniture & I hired a company that did this. Then the head mover says well you signed the papers stating we are not responsible for any furniture with particleboard. Well no I hadn't signed anything but really??? Every piece of furniture has some particle board in it even the oak bedroom set we have. I'm sure the back behind the drawers does. So basically they are not responsible for any damage that may occur during the move. Then I told him I wanted the owner to call me which he said he spoke with him & he would He also said IF I wanted to make a claim the owner would have to approve that & it would cost me $100 additional. Because I needed to pay the deductible. So now I'm paying your deductible for you damaging my parents furniture!??? Omg why would I have paid for a mover to move them!?! I mean what was my worry that I could possibly mess any of their things up??? These were supposed to be professionals. RIGHT! I called 2xs asking to leave a message with the owner & the younger girl in the office said well he'll just tell you the same thing I've told you. In which I responded that's fine I still want my call returned. He never called. I spoke with our agent who had recommended this company & she was mortified. She assured me that she would no longer be recommending them & was extremely apologetic. I spoke with you on Saturday, April 2ndand I advised you that my sister, Veronica Richardson, was moving from a 2 bedroom apartment to a three bedroom home within about eight (8) minutes of each other. I reminded you that I have done business with you at least three times in the last 10 years and that I specifically called your company because of the great service I had received in the past. From that you agreed to waive a $500 deposit fee you told me was a usually ask for a short notice move and once again I both respected and appreciated your efforts. However, on Monday, April 4th, 2022 your crew arrived approximately 9:00 am ready to move - albeit they smelled as if they had fortified themselves with quite a bit of, I am going to assume, "medical marijuana". Unlike the previous moves, I was unable to be on site to make sure all flowed dubiously and my sister, who has a kind heart and pays little to detail allowed the movers to do - whatever. A team of three (3) took until approximately 7:30 pm to complete the move. Yes, I was made aware of the issue of the bent lugs or bolts for the bed but, 10.5 hours to move a 2 (two) bedroom apartment? I think not! I am saddened and ashamed and frankly regret that I suggested your company to my sister who paid, with no hesitation, that enormous amount for bad service. We have used ABC movers twice and we were very happy the first time but after the second time we will not be using them again. My husband originally left a good review but we will be removing it. They packed the trucks poorly so everything didn't fit, did not pay attention to labeled boxes and we had boxes all over the place where they didn't belong as well as glassware broken because they stacked multiple boxes on top of boxes labeled fragile and clearly said DONT STACK BOXES ON TOP. They were suppose to move us yesterday. The driver found out we had COVID in August and was so scared he would not listen to reason and drove away without moving us. We were already over the covid and should be safer because of our immunity. The company leaves it up to the driver and did nothing to help us out, other than giving us the name of another company that could not move us for another month. Beware of this situation with covid. Many times I have used this company to move persons in our family since 2010. In the past I highly recommended this company BUT after our recent move May 2021 - I can no longer recommend this company. May 2021 - First phone call with Debbie in ABC office - she started to argue with me when I was listing items I needed help moving. I got past this bc maybe she was having a bad day. Second phone call - 24 hr b/4 move day - Debbie tells me that I am not on the schedule. I got past this bc she continued to check and found us on the schedule. 2 days after the move, we realize we are missing a metal step ladder - We call ABC to ask if the ladder was delivered to wrong place or they have it not know who it belongs to. They said they would ask around and call me back. No return call. 2 weeks later we call back and speak with Megan, Office Manager, she said it was our responsibility to check to make sure we have everything and they cannot help find the ladder nor pay to replace it. "My hands are tied - I can't help you". I asked for the name of the owner and she would not give me his name (I have spoke with owner in the past but wanted to see if there has been a change in ownership bc something has changed in the way they treat their customers.) I told her I was going to make a complaint with BBB and she laughed at me and said "Ok - make a complaint over a step ladder...really?". I am disappointed in writing this review. Your estimate was way off. It took 2 hours longer than the top-end of your estimate and $400 more. My fiance helped load his car for the duration of the move, we moved stuff over the day before and we still have stuff not moved! My movers were high all day, took multiple breaks they told my fiance they would deduct from their time and then never did. The movers put a HUGE scratch in my newly refinished wood floors, then wrote it in the wrong section of the contract so we wouldn't have been able to claim it. The only way to fix the scratch would be to refinish the floors in the bedroom, further inconveniencing us. I have called and left my contact info for a supervisor to call me back multiple times and no one has called. I will never use ABC again. Horrible service. read more

I used ABC Quality Moving last year moving us from St. Louis to Chicago. Everything was accounted for and nothing was broken. They came in with the best estimate. We are moving once again from Chicago back to St. Louis a year later and I decided I would call ABC again to see if they would move us back. I got a few local Chicago mover estimates and they all came in higher than ABC and then once I started reading online reviews about these other companies, I got really scared reading about some real bad experiences with some of them. I was very disappointed with my moving experience with ABC Quality Movers. The gentlemen were timely, moved me quickly, and were continuously polite. I wish the story ended there. They accidentally left my bedrails in their truck (which I discovered an hour after they had left) so I called the emergency number expecting to have the situation rectified quickly. No big deal. That kind of stuff happens. I never received a call back. (I called on Saturday, the day I moved). I called the company again on Sunday only hear the same voice message. Monday morning I waited to see if they would give me a call to let me know they had gotten my message and would drop off the rails that day. No call. I finally called the office at 12:00pm and was told that they would need to see if it would fit into their schedule to drop them off to me that day (my roommate was home and could let them in). Several hours passed with no call so I called them again and was told the only time they could drop off the bed rails would be Tuesday from 11am-2:00pm. Since I and my roommate work full time, that meant that the rails would just be hanging out in front of our apartment for anyone to see for most the day. To be honest, the disruption to my life was minimum, but the total lack of acknowledgment of the mistake, lack of desire to rectify it in a timely manner, and poor communication has ensured that I will be using this company again. I wanted to slow down long enough to thank the team at Quality Moving. My father in law is moving in with us this week. He has lived in St Louis all of his life and in his house for 48 years. The team at Quality Moving assisted us in the move by helping us get his belongings here safety and fast. Greg and Steve S. arrived to the house in St Louis early and packed loaded the truck in less than an hour. They arrived on time here in Austin and had everything unloaded into the apartment in less than an hour. They were courteous and fast. ABC Moving I like these guys! They were real cool about me having to reschedule my move on a very short notice from my storage facility. No problem there! Walt and Kevin show up as planned and introduce themselves and explained the pricing and everything and got to work. These two gentlemen were super nice, and have been in the moving business for a long time. These guys know their stuff, and their experience showed. They knew the best ways on how to pack up my smaller items into larger boxes they brought. Walt and Kevin both worked very efficiently. These guys would carry several boxes at a time, and would place my items wherever I directed them in my new apartment. They also put my bed frame together for me. Kevin even suggested for the future on how to pack my cheaper furniture so it would not break. Once we were done Kevin explained all the charges for their work.
