They delivered on time to our house in Venice Florida. The ease of the web site combined with the lovely staff who answered the phone made the process simple. My brother and his family were visiting from the UK over Christmas and new year, and for the duration of their stay needed a high chair and baby car seat. I thought of buying these items but it really just didn't make sense to do that and a neighbor of mine recommended ABC rentals. I looked at the website, found what I needed and gave them a call to reserve the items. I was told that the items would be delivered on the day I requested and was given a time slot and then the items were to be collected at the end of the period of use. There was a reasonable $10 charge for drop off and collection. Delivery was a little late, and collection was a little early but it all worked out. The items were sturdy, nothing too fancy or top of the range, but I guess that's what makes most sense for rental items. I would give a five star review if the items were a little higher end. What I was exceptionally happy with was the great level of customer support. I found ABC very professional. I had to extend the rental by a week and then had to reduce by a couple of days, and I got a full refund for the time that I did not use. I was very happy with that and will definitely recommend this business to friends. read more

All baby equipment and gear/toys is more than 15+ years old and very worn out. We rented equipment with this company twice while vacationing with our young children and were very disappointed with the quality of the items rented. Pack n plays, high chairs, and toys were more than 15+ years old. Unfortunately, they don't even give you the option to rent newer equipment. We will be trying a different company for our upcoming vacation, but seriously we could get better/newer baby gear at a second-hand store for less than what we paid for renting ABC's extremely old items. I have a 15 year old, a 2.5 and a 1.5 year old and everything we rented was much older than our 15 year old without a doubt. Almost like they found this stuff on the curb. Myself, my daughter in law and grandson planned a trip to Siesta Key for March 2020 because my sister had terminal cancer and had never met her grand nephew. Due to COVID-19 our trip was cancelled. When I contacted ABC to cancel my reservation, I was told they would keep my money for use later. My sister passed away without meeting her grand nephew and I contacted ABC a second time and advised them of her passing and that we would no longer be coming at all and would they refund my credit card. We have rented from this company twice and both times we were very disappointed. We first came down to the Sand Cay in Longboat Key in December 2021 and rented a highchair, a pack n play, a bath seat, a changing pad and an exercauser/activity center. Most of the items were extremely old and used. I'd say easily 10 years old with HEAVY use. But the worst part was that the activity center literally broke as we placed our baby in it.. this thing should not have been in rotation. I called the company and they agreed to replace it with another one. This time we got a BRAND NEW one, so obviously they have new nice stuff in their warehouse, but just don't want to offer it up until you complain or worse.. your baby gets hurt in the item. No refund was offered for the trouble FYI. So after being there in December and not loving my experience with this company, I tried to research other companies to use before returning in March. It was very hard to find one. So, against my better judgement, I placed another rental order with them. This time I rented a pack n play, bath seat, changing pad, beach tent and walker/activity center. We arrived at the Sand Cay in Longboat Key late in the evening and I wanted to put my son down in his rented crib to sleep as he was exhausted from traveling. Upon opening the pack n play (which appeared to have been from 1997 FYI) I noticed an intense clorox like smell coming from it. When I got closer and placed my hand on the mattress it was literally wet to the touch and my hand smelled like clorox. Disgusting!! And dangerous! If I had not noticed this, my son would have been breathing that in all night. It was already so late and he needed to go to sleep, but guess what! No one answers the phone at this company on Sundays. So I had to go to Target late Sunday night and BUY a pack n play. When I contacted the company the next day they were semi-apologetic and said they would refund me for the pack n play. I let them know I thought they needed to do more than just a small refund ($36 on a bill over $100). The women said the owner would get back to me.. and they never did. Not surprised. Needless to say, I learned my lesson twice and will NEVER EVER rent from them again and I'll make sure to let the Sand Cay know not to recommend them to anyone anymore. We own a unit there and many people who rent from us ask for suggestions on baby rentals.. well I won't be sending them here. read more

Needed a baby carseat for relatives in town. I booked online and was quoted for $30 for the week. The company called me and said they don't offer Sunday pickup, the day I chose online, so they would deliver it to my house. I thought great, I wasn't able to be home, so they said they would leave it at the front door. The car seat was delivered when promised. It was nothing special or fancy and relatively clean. It did the job however it ended up costing over $45 for for the 6 days. They charged me extra fees including delivery that they never mentioned once on the phone. I didn't even want delivery, but they told me I had to have it since they were closed. I wish I had know this, I would've picked a different day, or even better I would've just bought a car seat from Walmart for that price. Update: Thank you for your response below. However it seems you are trying to imply that I didn't actually rent this item from your company. I hope you can understand that this makes me even more frustrated! The seat was a few dollars less than $30, so with tax it was supposed to come to around just under $30. I was making a very close estimate for simplicity of the review. It was your convertible car seat that is listed on your website for $25 for the week. You don't have any "notes" of a complaint because I was not able to make one. When I called to question the price, I was simply told that those were the fees involved and I was required to pay for delivery. The woman I spoke with told me there was nothing she could do since the fees were already paid. Hopefully this clears up any confusion and doubt you had. read more

We've used ABC for the past 3 years when coming to Ana Maria Island. Ok experience in the past if you can overlook worn and sometimes dirty items. This year when we arrived on a Saturday, they failed to include our toddler bed and mattress for our 2 year old. Voicemail inbox was full when we tried to call so there was absolutely no way to reach anyone. We had to wait until Monday to get in touch with someone. Needless to say, had 2 nights of awful sleep. They really could care less when we called and discussed the situation. I would recommend using another rental company and will be doing so myself moving forward. read more

Clean, sanitary, safe, affordable alternative to traveling with all those baby needs that take up space in your vehicle or cost so much to take on the plane with you. However did you know their stores are also women's boutiques? I have purchased many unique items there. Everything from that to die for pair of shoes to palazzo pants, leggings and tunic tops and the perfect handbag to carry with that sweet sundress. Highly recommend this vacation rental service! With the airlines charging so much now for extra bags, we decided not to take our pack & play with us on vacation to Anna Maria Island. The owner called me back after hours when I called the day before we were leaving. She coordinated to have the crib delivered and it was set up when we got there, very late at night, for which we were very grateful. They also coordinated a pick-up after we left, all for only a $5 delivery charge total! They also have beach equipment rentals. I have used ABC rentals to rent a crib twice now. The first time was in Siesta Key and we were able to get free delivery however I was disappointed in the crib mattress. This second time we were in Bradenton and I asked for a firm mattress at an extra $5 charge. I was quoted a $10 delivery charge because free delivery was only for Anna Maria Island. The condo is literally less than 5 minutes from the island so I think that's a little ridiculous but whatever. When the crib was dropped off the slip had a $15 delivery charge. I called about it and was told they weren't sure why I was told $10 but that it was $15 and that was that. In addition, I'm still not happy with the quality of the mattress. I will not use this company in the future and do not recommend them. There is another company that has lower prices and has free delivery that I would have used but they were closed for vacation. read more

We had an incredible experience with ABC rentals. First, they were able to drop the rentals off without someone being there, which was great because it meant my parents did not need to waste a morning waiting for the rentals to arrive and got to play golf. Better yet, ABC rentals offered to come back at a more convenient time to help put the toddler bed we had rented together!! Talk about customer service! Then upon return, we needed the bed late in the day for a final nap before we took a plane home. ABC rentals worked with me to make sure I had the toddler bed for that nap! I was thrilled!! My family rented equipment for 3 kids for our trip to Florida. I gave two stars because equipment was delivered on time. Upon arrival we realized that the 1 pack and play was missing the bassinet portion for my 3 month old. When we called they told us they had no one available to make the delivery and then proceeded to say that the baby will be fine sleeping in the pack and play without it. The manager was rude and condescending to us and offered no apology or compensation for their mistake. Toys were in fair condition. Baby bouncer toy part did not work. We rented carseats from ABC after Enterprise rented us carseats that were expired and missing proper parts that make them safe (like the foam padding?!). ABC was very accommodating and helpful and I was thrilled to get two seats that weren't expired, were clean, and that were easy to install. I have pretty high standards with carseats and it was nice to see that the owner had high standards as well. Also, our kids are under 45lbs, but not old enough nor big enough for booster seats. Most rental places only have seats that go to 40lbs, in which case you'd have to rent a booster. This might be the bare minimum of the law, but not even remotely safe. I really appreciated that ABC had seats that work for bigger children without having to resort to a booster. Thanks! read more

We have a time share in Florida and we go once a year in Oct. We have a 1 year old and our timeshare recommended ABC baby rental. I read the reviews on Yelp and thought it was strange that people were complaining about the price because the delivery fee is right on the website. So I called and placed my order for the pack in play and a high chair just in case there was a hidden fee. They gave me the price, plus delivery. For $50 to give me a place for my baby to sleep and eat sign me up! I mean $50 is a steal. The CC I gave them I had to close because of fraud so they even had to call me back to get a new one (my bad) and they were soooo nice about it. When we arrived everything was ready and in our room. The pack in play and high chair were so clean! Cleaner than my high chair at home for sure. I just don't understand why they have bad reviews. If you can't afford the delivery fee then please use the pick up and drop off option because they just can't be more clear about the pricing. And if you think your baby stuff at your house is cleaner and had less stains than ABC's options I would challenge that fact. I wish people would stop being so negative about nothing. Use ABC every time we go to AMI. Great infant rentals

On June 26, 2017 I had ABC Baby and Beach Rentals deliver a beach wheelchair to Longboat Key so I could take my disabled wife to the beach. The wheelchair was not as advertised on ABC's website which claims that this wheelchair maneuvers easily on any terrain. In fact with a person in the chair, it was not possible to turn the chair even on a level driveway surface because all wheels are fixed and none swivel. Besides that the chair is a makeshift or homemade job made of pvc pipes and when my wife sat in it, it wad so painful and uncomfortable for her that we had the delivery person take it right back. He said they could deliver a better one the next day but they simply brought the same chair back and we had him take that one right back also. So we had this unacceptable, unusable wheelchair less than 5 minutes total. When we got home from vacation we found that ABC company had still charged our master card $160.50 for that chair. I called and spoke to the owner who was extremely unsympathetic and very rude. They refused to credit the money back to my card. I am now forced to go through a lengthy and stressful dispute process through my credit card company. Everyone should be warned that once ABC delivers something to you, they don't care if it can't be used for the intended purpose. I will be contacting appropriate county and state disability agencies to ask them to investigate ABC for putting such a product as this on the market. read more

Threw away $100 because I was apparently supposed to give 2 weeks cancellation notice over a fall holiday (not 48 hours as stated on the receipt). NO communication of this policy. I absolutely adore ABC Rentals! Their baby equipment is up to date and super safe, which is what I'm sure every parent worries about. I know it's always my top priority. I feel 100% safer spending a little money to rent a crib from here than taking a chance with the shifty ones that most hotels and resorts provide. I can sleep well and enjoy my vacation knowing my child is in a sturdy crib at night and riding in a reliable stroller during the day. It relieves so much stress and frees up a lot of room not having to load these things up to lug on vacation. You can even call ahead and rent the equipment you need, and they also deliver for a small fee, which makes it hassle free. I'd recommend this company to anyone. They cater to the needs of every age of beach goers. From bicycles to umbrellas they have everything. The overall prices for renting are extremely reasonable, especially for baby equipment. Everything is pristine in the area of cleanliness. One more plus is they have merchandising almost similar to a small boutique. Dresses, jewelry, handbags, and more. I love browsing and can never leave without buying something. They're often trendy and up to date on fashion. I can't imagine a better rental facility anywhere in Florida! read more

We have rented cribs, etc for many years from ABC. The cribs are high quality, always very clean and comfortable. This year we rented four cribs for our toddler and infant grandchildren. We later decided we needed high chairs for the 9 month old twins and they were delivered the next day after contacting them. It is so convenient to rent from this family owned business. Everything is there when we arrive and picked up after we leave. The owners are friendly and couldn't be more helpful. All equipment is tested to ensure in proper working order before delivery. If you need to add something to your existing order, it is best to call/email and have it added to your order to keep order together and avoid any separate delivery charge. We will rent again and again. Highly, highly recommend. Very customer oriented - also get emails to confirm delivery and pickup. I don't understand the negative reviews as I have rented equipment since 2008 and have had outstanding service and extremely clean products every time. I highly recommend this rental. read more

Just traveled for the first time with our newborn & toddler for Thanksgiving. ABC Rentals was recommended by several friends for those "incidentals" you need like a crib, stroller, etc... Not only was everything at our suite when we got there but was so clean that it looked brand new!. Then all we had to do was leave the beds & strollers for the company to pick up. Travelling with little ones is stressful enough; ABC Rentals definitely took one more thing off our plate! ABC is a terrible company!! If you are worried about your small child or infant getting sick, please DO NOT rent from them. I have received soiled items and items that have been clearly used and delivered without being cleaned. Seems like a safety hazard to me. The person that I assume is the owner is not nice or personable. She will argue with you and pretty much insinuate that she thinks you're an idiot. What happened to the customer is always right? This was the worst experience I've ever had with an independently owned company, EVER. Everything was covered in sand and old, nasty food. The jogging strollers are soaking wet when they get delivered to your house, cardboard freying everywhere, they're covered in sand ... Don't even get me started on the highchair and booster seat that I rented from this company. The state of it was absolutely sickening with nasty, dry crusty food all in the seams of the seat and all over the tray that attaches to it. Nothing was wiped off. It smelled like cleaning products, but still had what I assumed was dry food all over it. The delivery driver was not nice or personable when he showed up to drop things off. I'm not sure of his name, but he was older with gray hair. Like I said, WORST experience I've ever had. I fear for the children's safety. I am more than certain that renting their products will make your child sick. I feel ripped off, and the money WAS NOT worth it. NOT A GOOD COMPANY TO RENT FROM.
