No trip to Hawaii is complete without a stop at ABC Stores. We found this store when we were buying some time before checking into our condo. We decided to go ahead and get our souvenir shopping out of the way early. We got some gifts for ourselves and our friends and got some necessities for our trip. We also got some snacks. Everywhere you turn, there's something fun to see and purchase lol! They offer a rewards program and when you spend $300 you get a free gift. read more

Sad to leave this review as we have always loved to shop at this markets on all the islands. We stopped by yesterday afternoon and bought three of their snorkel mask sets. Not the cheapest ones they had .. went to the beach today to try them and they were all defective. We tried them on both of us adults, and all three of the kids. The goggles wouldn't hold a seal. We packaged them back up and brought them back to ask if we can exchange them for a nicer pair (mind you, spend more money in their store) and were told no. They cant exchange or refund us bc they can't be sold. What a joke., these shouldn't be sold. They are defective. Just writing this review to warn you they don't stand behind their products. I Love This Place! My Hawaiian friends know the interesting history of these stores. However,I can tell you, they have responded to the times and 100 percent know what their customers need. They deliver it with a smile in spotless stores. It's not a trip to Hawaii without a stop at an ABC Store. This is actually one of the nicer ones I've been to. If you want some supplies and souvenirs, then you need to come here as you'll save some money, but also get good product. Overall, probably the largest chain in Hawaii. read more

Had a delicious steak dinner with mixed vegetables and salad for less than $20. The gentleman behind the counter was very friendly and provided all the utensils and plenty of napkins. Went back for dessert and friend orders the Coconut Shrimp which was also excellent. read more

INSIDE Your typical ABC store. If you don't know what one is they're like the 7-eleven convenient store gas station corner store souvenir shop stop. This one isn't as big as some other locations, but gets the job done for what you might need. I ended up buying small mints in cute tins as gifts for co workers. Each about $2 and some change. Good assortment of drinks and candies. STUFF What they sell isn't cheaper than Walmart but you are paying for convenience. read more

Very touristy place, but if you're looking for souvenirs to send/take back home there are plenty to be had here. From unique artisan style postcards to baby clothing items to tshirts or even island flavored Maui beer, you can knock off alot from your list here. It can be oricey, but that's kind of the norm for places like this. Their biggest asset is selection. They have lots to choose from. This one is located in the same parking lot as the local Safeway & is close to a bakery & a shave ice place, with ample parking. read more

Our big family & I shopped for a plethora of Hawaiian souvenirs to include jewelry, assorted candies, shirts, towels, magnets, bags of lihing mui, flip flops, and liquor leis. The staff exemplified true Aloha spirit. I was carrying some things in my hand when a friendly lady brought me a basket & proceeded to strike up a conversation. She was so sweet & helpful as was the cashier that rung up our vast finds. The prices here are more reasonable than what you would find in a tourist trap. I highly recommend this store! read more

We bought several items including 4 shirts here four days ago. My son accidentally grabbed the wrong size on one of the shirts so we decided to see if we can exchange it for a smaller size. The cashier asked if we have the receipt, I said no but offered to show my credit card activity. She called the manager who is the most obnoxious and seriously the rudest person I've ever met in all of Hawaii. I frequently visit Hawaii and have been to all islands. This store certainly have no problem taking my money but to simply exchange size for the same t-shirt that cost $18.00, that egotistical (Filipino) manager lectured me on keeping the receipt and the whole thing about your stores cannot take any exchanges past 2 weeks. I didn't keep the receipt because we're keeping all the things we bought. All I need is either a YES or a NO. She kept on examining the shirt (with the tag still on) like it was a precious work of art. She asked how long we had it so I told her that we just got here vacationing from California. Again, I offered to show my credit card activity that clearly showed the ABC Stores # 57. I know that it only shows the total value but it has the date and store number. Again, all I need is a yes or a no, not a whole second degree interrogation and shaming us as if we are criminals. I spent more on a white pineapple at the farmers market than this t-shirt. We usually go to an ABC store before we head home to buy rums, souvenirs, and chocolates. This is definitely not going to happen this year (most likely never again). read more

Visited the one in Kapaʻa (Kauai) in May 2024. Loved the store. Had a vast collection of souvenirs at a great price. They also had beautiful cotton T-shirts on sale that I got for $5 each. All my future HI trips will now include a stop at ABC. read more

We just came here to find a selfie stick. Hubbs and I finally decided to give to the gimmicky product since we wanted beautiful shots of the environment we were in. Of course, the darn thing was almost three times the price of one from Chinatown (NYC) but we bought it anyway. The guys at the counter were very nice. Apparently, you can hold on to your ABC receipts and redeem them at other locations, such as in Vegas. They carry just about everything would ever need here. It's like a catch-all for products. We left smiling with all the jokes the staff was throwing our way. It was a pleasant experience. read more

They have soooo much to offer especially for souvenirs, they have books, candles, chocolate "of course, lots of clothes, literally probably anything you can think of and much more so I definitely recommend you stop here. They have a much larger selection than many other stores we have visited, they even beat Walmart and it's a supermarket. We bought several souvenirs and expect to be back before our vacation is over. Plus the people were super nice and pleasant and helpful! We had a situation where we lost something and one of the managers (Dave) helped us review the tapes to see if we had it when we walked out. It's so funny that when I visit the Mainland, people always tell me, "Boy, I sure do love those ABC Stores!" I'm a local visiting from Oahu, and people are totally right! We stopped by ABC Store to get me a new pair of cheap slippers. I love how ABC is stocked to the brim with everything your heart desires while traveling. Ice cold drinks because you're thirsty? Check! Beer, spirits and wine because you're on vacation? Check! Snacks and candies galore because you're ready to really go for it and put on an extra 15 pounds of vacation weight? Check! Completely tacky, but absolutely necessary knick knacks because you need more Hawaii in your life? Check! Gifts for your boss because you need a raise so you can come back to Hawaii? Check! More liquor because your vacation ends tomorrow and you really don't want to go back to work? CHECK! Not always the cheapest, but decently competitive and easy when you're on the go. By far, the perfect place to shop for suvinours or gifts from Hawaii. Almost everything they have here is Hawaiian, they have chocolates, soaps, lotions, chapsticks, sunscreen, seasonings, coffee mugs, magnets, nuts, snacks, keychains, and more. Price: Pretty reasonable, this place has EVERYTHING you need, so if you want all your shopping done in one trip, this is the perfect place. There are a few other places on the island that have this ABC store, this one is in a shopping center next to subway & starbucks, on the way to the Lihue airport. As an unabashed tourist, your aisles offer salvation of so many tourist-y thirsts: straw hats that'll cave rather quick-like, shirts and towels that won't break the bank, island treats and cheap trinkets, the ABC gives you the 123 on you and me. This particular location, adjacent to a Safeway and Ross Dress For Less, is the perfect 3-fer when you're seeking semi-affordable island salvation. I found myself here when I couldn't find decent cold brew coffee, swimsuits, sunglasses or booze in the afore-mentioned spots. That's right, ABC offers vodka, sunscreen and trinkets otherwise found in CVS or Walgreens, and one more note, I really dug the customer service. Price points on grocer items (ahem, alcohol) are a tad stiffer than you'll find elsewhere, but hey, for a last-minute body board option, not bad. I love the ABC store. This 1 lady was very kind to help me find a few items that I was looking for. I've been in this store so far about 5 times, and always see something I didn't see before. I love all the sale items, especially the dark chocolate covered macadamia nuts. I found this great little book on Hawaiian language for only $4.99. Another book I found "The Ultimate Kauai Guide Book" for $19.99. What an awesome book, tons of information on everything you'd want to see and do, and beautiful colored pictures. Great maps throughout the book. I'll be back, gotta get Sage something from here!!!!!!! read more
