Her schedule was booked out for about 2 weeks when trying to get an appointment online this time but I reached out to her through IG and she was kind enough to fit me in earlier since I will be leaving for vacation. First experience for me with sugaring, whole wax took about 15 mins, I've had prior Brazilian waxes at different places on the island, but she is the best IMO, great conversationalist, great customer service, fast, efficient, and most important the most painless wax I've gotten. I was in Princeville, but made an appointment for this Salon all the way in Kapaa, as it was the only place with availability for my dates. My makeup and hairstyle session was scheduled at 3pm. I got delayed a bit and reached by 3.05pm. I informed the reception that I had a sunset family photoshoot scheduled in Hanalei bay at 6pm, but they still made me wait 40 mins and started by only 3.45pm. This delayed everything for me, we couldn't start photoshoot on time and lost our opportunity to take some great pictures. When I checked in to the Salon, the stylist was just getting started with another client for a haircut session. I don't know how they could do that - have two appointments start at same time? This is gross miss management on the Salon's part and I regret choosing this place! The stylist was very friendly, did a good job with makeup and hairstyle. But somehow there was no hairstyle left, by the time reached the beach! May be she should have used some setting spray or something, I don't know! read more

The owner is a sweetheart who has owned and operated it for over 25 yrs, and has kept up with the times offering a wide variety of your beauty and spa needs, that they execute beautifully. First off WOW, GO here! I had a facial with Liz, the owner, and I have already gone back for another one, officially hooked and blown away by the results. We discussed my daily skincare ritual and Liz offered incredible suggestions on simple daily steps I could take to care for my skin as well as helped me discover possible causes for a recent breakout. During my facial Liz hydrated my skin with an oxygen mist that left my skin GLOWING, think magic elixir being softly sprayed on your face that is cooling to tired eyes and smells delicious! On my second trip, I went to another galaxy with the LED therapy experience. Literally, in less than 24 hours I went from painful breakouts that were red and swollen to smoothed out skin! MANI/PEDI EXPERIENCE This experience was a bit of a mixed bag, but unfortunately much more negative than positive with the price factored in. Good Stuff: - Called first thing Monday morning hoping to make an appointment for my friend and I to get gel/shellac manicures and pedicures together and for her fiancee to get a massage at the same time. She said she'd need to call and see if they could bring another masseuse in, and promptly got back to me to confirm that they unfortunately could not. I appreciated her effort to make that happen, and we were able to book the mani/pedi for my friend and I. - The two technicians who did our nails were really nice and we had a pleasant conversation and got good recommendations for things to do on the island. - The environment straddles the line between salon and spa pretty nicely, and definitely felt more upscale than your typical nail salon. Wine and cucumber water were available. - Pedicure came out okay, although not amazing. Foot scrub was nice. Chairs and bath were comfy. Bad Stuff: My friend's technician did a great job, and she was done in about 1hr 45 minutes with gel mani and standard pedi. Total, my gel mani and standard pedi took me 2 hrs and 20 minutes. My technician clearly had little to no experience with nails. I'd never had gel nails done before, and I felt like I was a little bit at her mercy (and didn't know what to expect). She was literally painting and cleaning up with acetone on almost every nail :( - filing/cutting job between hands was uneven - many coats of the manicure did not reach the cuticle, such that in the light you can see that the second gel color coat and clear coat is patchy and uneven - multiple nails were flooded, such that my "nail" appears wider than it is, or bulbous at the edges - 2 coats applied, probably should have been 3 - sticky residue was not fully removed with alcohol at the end -pricy! 85 total, and no massage or lotion. Just a quick scrub Overall, I was a little perplexed as to why they bothered to book us at the same time when the second technician was never going to be able to keep pace with the other technician (and was going to do a poor job anyways). I did ask them to redo one of the nails that was the worst offender of the flooding, and they accommodated, but I was left to sit for a good 10 minutes while the technician went to do a wax. My friend's technician eventually came and saved me, and she did a great job on that one nail. They look passable at arms length, but are off in direct light. read more

I have to agree with nalenee. I had quite a bad experience today as well. Started out good. I decided I was done with shaving my bikini and wanted to get a wax. I stopped shaving for a little over a week to let it grow then spontaneously dropped by this establishment to see if they would be able to take me without ah appointment. As "luck" would have it I got in 15 min later. I have never gotten a wax before but I did a lot of research and I have a friend who does waxing so I had an idea of what was going to happen. I also tried waxing myself before and had eyebrows waxed Just never in that area so I knew what It felt like to have wax on. Alyssa was such a nice person but I was hoping for a just get it over with experience. I felt like it was prolonged and the wax wasn't rolling onto me it was pulling and tugging. So sore. she ended up just stopping before I was waxed because she said it was my first time and she didn't want to scare me. I felt awful. I was sticky sore and whats worst I was hairy! I came home and looked like my cat got ran over. so sore even as I sit here typing this. I was told to come back in 2 weeks to get waxed again but i think id rather try another place first. I know they have better wax and strips elsewhere. Alyssa mentioned they might start using "sugar balls" soon so I might hold off to try that before coming back here. This place is cute and they have a lot of different things. I had gotten a acne facial type of thing about 4 years ago or so. It hurt and left my face puffy and red I totally cried but i swear for over a year I didn't get pimples like i had before. Occasional one or two but no acne. I may come back for that again once I make some money since it's spendy at $120. Today my butchered cat set me back $36 +tip. Ouch is right. read more

I really hate to do this, but I feel like it's my duty to warn anyone that wants to come here for a brazilian. I even hate myself more because I've actually read the reviews and took a chance anyway since I like to see things for myself. Bad decision! As the previous reviewer mentioned, the waxer uses a deodorant roller looking type of applicator to apply the hot wax to your skin. She did ask me if it was hot and it didn't feel uncomfortable to me so I approved of it. I had never had this type of application done to me this way before and I have always gotten brazilians. Usually with hard wax or sugaring and never with strips (they use strips) so this method was new to me. The girl was very nice and I felt her technique was good since I did not feel much pain (although I do have a high tolerance for pain). Well, when I left, after an hour or so, I realized that the swelling had not gone down and I was swollen the rest of day. This has Never happened to me before. I then realized that I had been burned!!! I can't even believe that they are operating like this..... Anyway, just wanted to warn anyone out there not to take a chance there. The girl was really nice and everything, but it is totally irresponsible on their part. Somebody's gonna have some serious damage done one day! read more
