I had a Medeco key cut at a local hardware store - what a disaster! Twice and the key didn't work. ABCO Security, first time, managed to get it correct. Thank you! I noticed that they also perform garage door installations and surveillance solutions. I will use them for both. I checked out the competition and ABCO is definitely more affordable. Don't use these people. I had a sticky door latch and wanted to replace. The person who answered the phone said it would probably run $100. The technician came an hour and a half early and quoted $560 to replace both the lock and the latch. I declined and he accused me of having attitude. Horrible experience. Our first impressions over 10 years of service were positive: fairly quick to respond to requests for service calls and quotes, despite fulfilling their 24-hour emergency service promise. They installed a new motor, new garage door, and did some repairs. Everything seems to have been done correctly. More recently, there seems to be something fishy going on. Years ago, during a service call, something broke on our garage mechanism during or right after ABCO made a repair. A fluke, I assumed, and paid for the additional repair. A few days ago I called them to provide an estimate for replacing a rotting piece of wood on my fully functioning garage door. After the ABCO representative left (estimate only), the door would not close - a cable had come loose and a roller had gone off track. The owner was unwilling to send someone to fix this "new problem" that happened somewhere between the representative showing up and the next time I tried to close the garage door myself. read more

Possibly the WORST company I have ever observed. They are used to maintain the garage doors of my large apartment complex. I don't know why my apartment managers use them, the garage door CONTINUALLY has problems and HAS COMPROMISED THE SAFETY of residents. Once, after they recently installed a brand new garage door for whatever reason, they neglected to connect the auto stop sensors - in violation of federal law. So, for the second time! the door autoclosed and damaged my car. Since then, they have come out to work on numerous issues with the same door and the opener and I wonder when the whole thing is going to simply fall on top of me while I'm walking under it. The negligent and incompetent people are really to be avoided at all costs. Bottom line: They cannot do the most basic of garage work correctly. Use someone else. read more

Worst customer service and worst company ever. Needed a garage door replaced and the technician came to examine the door and never got back to me with an estimate. After calling multiple times I was told the quote will be emailed in a few hours..never received the estimate and when I called again to inquire about the estimate I was told the technician said its too much work and he's not willing to do the work. Very efficient and great price, I would definitely use them again. I needed Keys to my apartment and mailbox replaced. I contacted ABCO for an estimate online and then spoke to their office directly to set up appointment. The technician called to inform me he was on his way and was on schedule. Hired them to change locks on my apartment--will never use them again! After installing the new lock the locksmith wouldn't align the door so that the new lock would work so now I have a new lock that's totally useless. Save your money and avoid them at all costs! read more

Horrible experience. Installed garage opener and they left there mess in the garage, including metal fasteners on the floor where the the cars would park. Several months later, the spring broke. They claimed they had not installed it and refused to honor the guarantee. read more

Very Honest Place. I was having a problem with my key not working and wanted to have the cylinder replaced or rekeyed. The employee checked it first and the only problem was that it was dirty. He cleaned it and didn't charge me. Highly recommend. read more
