Just laughter, music, and that free-spirited, slightly janky charm of 30 years ago when nobody cared if things matched they just cared if it felt right. And those girls? Oh, they clocked me immediately. You could see it in their faces half amusement, half "we're about to fix this situation." There's some playful teasing, a little splashing, and next thing you know, I'm being coaxed into the tub like it's some kind of initiation ritual. I'm pretending to resist, holding onto what little dignity I had left, but let's be honest that ship had already sailed the second I walked in dressed like a lifeguard at a party that clearly didn't need one. My husband and I moved to the Oregon Coast in April of this year. I have very long hair, and I feel it is a huge part of who I am as a woman. Abbey is AWESOME!!! She helped me go from platinum to a gorgeous cool, dark coffee color. It makes my blue eyes pop, and I am also very pleased with my layers. Abbey took her time with a full consultation and really made sure she understood exactly what Ariel was looking for before they started. That alone made my wife feel so confident in her. She's not only incredibly skilled, but also warm, personable, and easy to talk to, which makes the whole experience even better. Well this review is long overdue. I am relatively new to the area and heard from a friend about Abby Rose so I decided to make an appointment. She did a fabulous job on my cut and color and knew exactly how to style my naturally curly hair. I was very impressed with the time and effort she put into explaining to me all of the science behind all of the treatments and products. I am totally inept when it comes to hair terminology and was so indecisive but Abby helped me make the best decision and I was so glad I trusted her! She made my hair look beautiful! Always sharing a new styling tip they learned, new fashion braids, tutorials for round brushing like a pro. Life is so much easier when you know what you're doing. I am a new resident in Newport and I did a lot of research trying to determine which salon to use for my cut and color. I finally determined that this was the place and I am happy to say that all my research paid off - because I am thrilled with the results. The atmosphere was great and the staff was even better. Both Abbey Rose and Amy Elizabeth truly listen to what you are saying and seem to want to do everything in their power to see you get the best results. I am so glad that I "found" Amy Elizabeth. I had been searching for a good hair stylist for almost 2 years since I moved. Prior to Amy, after getting a haircut, I would come home feeling so disappointed. My husband would joke with me and say "let me guess, you don;t like your haircut"!
