We had an old pipe leaking in our crawl space and our home warranty assigned it to Abe's Plumbing. Of course the first thing I do is look up their reviews and that had me terrified. But Victor came out a couple hours later and was great! Very personable, went right down there and fixed it. And the pipe had been leaking for a while, so it was 2 hours of him on his stomach covered in mud fixing this pipe. But all was fixed and we are very grateful! Especially as this was two days before Thanksgiving and I thought we'd have to cancel our holiday plans. read more

I was referred to this company by my homeowners warranty. If I could give them zero stars I would. Their "plumber" they sent over billed my warranty for two hours of work that he never actually did. I reported a leak under my kitchen sink and their "plumber" said there wasn't a leak and that the moisture I was seeing was due to a leak in my (brand new) roof. So since my roof is still under warranty, I called out my roofer to complete an inspection, low and behold it's not the roof and of course, the leak is continuously getting worse. I called my home warranty again regarding the same issue and they inform me that the plumber from this company billed them for two hours of work stating that he went under the crawl space, performed a leak test, etc. That was a straight out lie. I checked my surveillance cameras and he was there a total of about 20 minutes, did not go under my house and didn't even look under my kitchen sink and I have the surveillance to prove it. In the meantime, I get a real plumber to come out for the same issue and guess what, there is not only one leak under my kitchen sink but two! So ABE's Plumbing fraudulently charged for work they didn't complete and misdiagnosed the serious plumbing issue in my kitchen. These idiots should know better than to lie about the service they provide because surveillance cameras are common in most households! I have seven including one in my living room facing the kitchen and one on the exterior facing the only crawl space access to under my house. Scheduling nightmare! I was assigned through my home warranty. I took Abe's plumbing 3 days to respond just to schedule an apt 2 1/2 weeks out. I received the text it was confirmed. I waited my 4 hour window & no one came. When I called the front desk I was told they had called me the day before to cancel. I have no record of a missed call or voicemail. Obviously I was annoyed & rather than be kind, the scheduler got mad at me & just repeated protocol to reschedule. I opened up that my grandmother had just passed away & I was making every effort to be professional & also abide by my apt time. I was SHOCKED with the way she spoke to me, especially after hearing that I was in a family emergency & hadn't received her supposed voicemail. With no other options, I rescheduled for an apt next week. Our shower head has been leaking for months & I really need it fixed. Do not trust this company if you are assigned to them by your home warranty company. We had a leak in our wall and a broken garbage disposal. The technician fixed a seal to stop the leak and promised to come back with the new garbage disposal. But, the leak wasn't fixed so we called the receptionist (Jessica) for a return visit. She informed us that the technician marked the job as complete and that we could not get any additional service without calling our home warranty company. But, without the paperwork for the technician, which he neglected to turn in, our home warranty company was unable to send someone else out for our continuing leak. We have had some great service professionals with our home warranty company and some bad apples...make sure to check yelp before allowing the bad apples into your home :( read more

This company was selected by our home warranty company to address a leak on some hot water piping at the outlet of our hot water heater. Their technician completed the repair and told my wife it was 'all done, good to go'. My wife then called me up to say the hot water flow was very low in the house. When I got home I found the technician had left the water supply to the hot water isolated but the hot water heater and recirculation pump was left on. When I opened up the water supply to the hot water heater there was banging and hammering and the recirculation pump was noisy until I purged air out of the system from the highest faucet in the house. This technician did not check his work. I suspect he has caused damage to my hot water heater - they do not like to be run part filled with no water supply. I called them up and left a message to complain about the shoddy work and did not receive a call back. Based on my experience and judging from the other reviews on this site I would not allow this company to do work in my house again. read more

I had a sewage stoppage that caused a back up in my shower and the toilet was also leaking water below it. Old republic, my home warranty company, sent ABES to service the stoppage. The plumber they sent caused another flood that was so heavy I couldn't contain it within the confines of the bathroom. It caused damage to my flooring. Not only did they not repair the stoppage but they refused to accept responsibility for the water damage they left me with. The supervisor I spoke with was extremely rude and unprofessional. This place seems like a scam of a business based on all the other reviews I've read. Strongly advise against using this company. read more

I was assigned this trash plumbing company abe's Plumbing main office out of Lake Elsinore through a home warranty company. Abe's technician did not do a decent job at connecting the supply lines to the water heater. My water heater is located outside in the driveway within it's own enclosed storage area. Upon completing the work I came home from work and the new lines where all brand new the tech installed so I assumed it was food to go. Turns out there has been a small leak from where the tech put that white sealing tape which has been slowly dripping going unnoticed for months. After my roommate sees a trickle of water coming down from the water heater storage there I open the compartment and it's a steady slow trickle of water from the line the technician installed. I called numerous times to get some help and there customer service rep Marlene who very rude throughout each conversation. She beat around the bush and avoided my calls to buy her employer time to decide on what they would do. I sent them photos and they came back to me with it's a defective water heater. The water heater is working and the trickle of water is coming from the like the technician installed. Truly a piece of shit company and trash employees. read more

My first ever one-star review. Do not use this company or allow your Home Warranty to use this company. I didn't even know they had such poor ratings to begin with since First American Warranty sent them out, I didn't research them beforehand. Simply said, they're crooks. We just moved into our home late December '21 and within 6 weeks the shower stem blew out of the wall while I was showering. The shower stem was calcified, corroded, and there was an obvious tear/break in the threading. The home was built in 1966, naturally I went through Home Warranty since this is CLEARLY a wear-and-tear issue. It took Abe's a week and a half to send someone out. On arrival the plumber nonchalantly spent a whole 2 minutes in the bathroom, scribbled a vague summary "shower arm broke," didn't answer any questions clearly, then left. Days later, after no follow up, I call Abe's and my Home Warranty. Turns out Abe's reported that I physically ripped the shower stem off the wall in order for this to happen! Well isn't that convenient!! When I called Abe's again, the admin girl's tone was sassy and rude, as if I was the one who inconvenienced THEM! I admit, I was also rude, but who wouldn't be. The lie that their plumber told will cost me $1K out of pocket. I know this is a wear-and-tear issue because it also turns out this pipe was leaking before it finally gave way and mold ended up growing in the walls. Our bathroom is being remediated/reconstructed due to this issue. Thanks to Abe's I have to get quotes from REAL plumbers and go through a refute process with First American. read more

This business doesn't even deserve one star. How they've stayed in business for 13 years and can still survive is baffling yet home warranty companies continue to add them to their approved contractor list. The contractor showed up 2.5 hours late outside of the service window saying his work truck broke down. Once he arrived to diagnose my leaking toilet, he stayed 5 minutes and said he just needed a simple part and that he would get it ordered and come back to fix it in a day or two, mind you he never even lifted the toilet to diagnose the issue. There's zero communication between the technician and office staff, in fact the office called me the next morning just to see if the technician even made it out to my house. The office staff had no clue about what work needs to be done or what parts need to be ordered, you would think they work for two completely different companies. So each time you call them to find out what's going on they give you the run around saying someone will get back to you with an update. After a week of badgering them, I get the technician to come back out, he lifts the toilet and says "oh I need another part" which he would've known if he had bothered to correctly diagnose the issue in the first place. I tried calling and leaving several messages and didn't hear back so I kept calling and finally got a hold of someone after the 10th time. I scheduled an appointment 4 days later because they were booked. The day of the scheduled appointment the plumber DID NOT show up. They didn't even let me know that they had to cancel my appointment. I had to call them again to reschedule for the next day. We were on the phone with home warranty and Abe's plumbing to add another item to the ticket while the plumber was fixing the sink. In the midst of it, the plumber said he's done with the sink. I told him that we're having another item added to the ticket and he said no and just left. So now we had to book another ticket item and pay another $75 to get another plumber out to see the other sink. We are DEFINITELY using a different plumbing company. Absolutely worst customer experience I've ever received. Do not use. Ask your home warranty to reassign you. The lady who answers the phone and/or Marlene needs a SEVERE class in customer service. I waited on hold for 20 mins the first day and had to call back only to be told it was only 10 mins and they just opened so my phone timer was apparently wrong. I was told at the service time that notes said I'd pay cash, I never said that, but according to Marlene that's in the notes so that's it. Period. I told them I can provide a credit card but I don't have a scanner so their multipage form can't be filled out but I will gladly provide a credit card and my photo ID. So they send a pdf to fill out which I can print and scan back. How would you advise I do this? Walk it over to you? How many times can you tell a customer they are wrong? I'd love to know who owns this company and I'd love to speak with them about their personnel. If someone who worked for me spoke to a client like that they would be unemployed immediately. read more

As part of my home warranty plan, my service request was assigned to Abe's Plumbing. I'll be the first to admit, once I looked at the reviews on yelp I was very apprehensive and was ready to call my warranty company to reassign. However, I'm glad I didn't. My service request was straightforward without any thrills. It was a backed up bathroom sink and I've been "declogging" it on an ongoing basis. It got to the point where nothing I did was working any more. So had to call someone in. Within 2 hours of submitting my service request, I received a call from "Myra" (I THINK) and we were able to schedule an appointment for within two days. No biggie since my sink was still usable. On the day of the appointment, I received a call from my technician, Robert, confirming our appointment and his arrival time. He arrived within the timeframe he said and promptly got to work on the bathroom sink. Within an hour he was done and he cleaned up the sink after completing his job (NOT MANY DO THAT). I'm glad I gave this service provider the benefit of the doubt. So in this instance, I believe they did a solid job. Thank you guys for getting it done! read more

They came out to "service" a broken water heater on 8/23/16 and advised that they would need to order a part in order to repair it. Unbeknownst to me, a week passed before they even decided to order the part (after I called to find out what was going on). Again, they knew that there was no hot water, yet they waited a week to even bother order the part. When I called, I told them I would pay extra to have the part overnighted but no one called me back. It is now 9/8/16 and the parts still have not come, nor have they called with an update. At this point, I simply purchased a new water heater. Oh, and on top of that, their office manager was the rudest, most incompetent person I have ever spoken with. Like it seems everyone else on this Yelp page my home warranty plan assigned my request to Abe's Plumbing. I was pretty skeptical of them after looking at all these terrible reviews, but it worked out pretty well for us! We had just bought a house and been hearing some odd noises from our water heater. They were able to send a plumber out that very next day actually. He told us that we may only have a month left of good use out of the water heater and we'll probably need to install a new one. The heater itself was covered under warranty, but the parts and labor to hook it up to our existing plumbing were not. We said that's fine, relieved to at least get something out of the home warranty. He was able to order a new one, come back and install it the very same day! I'll reserve a star because we haven't actually used the water heater for long, but so far so good! read more

Stay away from this company. I was assigned by my Home Warranty company for a kitchen faucet leak. They came out to tell me that the warranty did not cover. I waited for weeks for no resolution to my leak. I should have checked my contract of coverage to begin with. That is my mistake, but they still took the $75 service fee from my Home Warranty company from my pre-payment. When I asked about a refund, they said they still charged for the fact that they did come out to my house. This is ridiculous as many companies do come out for a free assessment in general. As a matter of fact, I called Sage Plumbers after that, and they came out, fixed my leak within 15 minutes and did not charge me a dime as they said that was such a small job. read more

Fine. The day of, I'm sitting at home and there's only one hour left so I call to see what's going on. They tell me the appointment was cancelled and there was no reason why, and the next appointment isn't available until next week. Are you kidding me? They didn't even apologize. I was assigned this plumber by Home Warranty of America. It's my first claim with them. I needed a broken off water valve fixed so a new fridge could be installed. HWA said vendors should come within 24 hrs and Abe's Plumbing would call me for an appt. I decided to add a 2nd item to the claim (loose toilet with no seal) since HWA said I am allowed 2 claims for one vendor/fee housecall. I decided not to wait and called Abe's myself. Had to leave a message. Hours later, I called them again and got ahold of someone. They said they would not be out to service my area (which is about 45 mins from where they are) until Wed (this was a Friday) so I made the appt anyways with intention to call HWA to assign to someone else. But turns out the other company wasn't available until Wed either so I kept my Abe's appt. I called Abe's back to confirm my appointment (didn't want to take the chance they had canceled it.) I left about 2-3 messages over 2 days and finally called them again and got a live person. She was not apologetic at all. But at least they did have my appt still. She asked if she could make the time window bigger (8-12 instead of 10-12) and I said yes. The morning of, the plumber called me 20 mins before the appointment to let me know they were on their way. Two young guys named Andrew and Anthony showed up, they looked about 22. Very nice guys. One said he had been a plumber for about 4-5 years but only at this company for 4 months. I asked if this company only does home warranty claims and they said yes. They assessed my claims, tightened the bolts on my loose toilet and said it's okay how it is just touching the floor, that caulk around it is not necessary, it's only for looks (not sure about that one as we all know caulk is to keep water out...), then they went to Home Depot to get the valve part and came back and installed it. Took about 10 minutes to install. Overall, it all went fine, but after reading these reviews, I would not have chosen them. I am big on reviews. read more

Home Warranty assigned this horrible company to handle my claim. First, they never called me to set up an appointment and I could not reach anyone at the number provided. I had to contact my warranty company and complain and surprise I received a call within the hour. Finally got a guy out and explained the issue. He said he would need to use a camera to see what was causing the stoppage in the pipe. He had to get approval from warranty which seemed odd but what do I know. He said it would take a few hours and he would be back. Never came back so I called the office and the lady had no idea what I was talking about. An hour later I receive a call from warranty that my claim was denied because the contractor reported roots in the pipes which is not covered. ROOTS!!! This guy spent less than five minutes in my livingroom. He did stick his head in the bathroom but didn't turn on the light. I filed a complaint with consumer affairs for fraud. Cancelling my warranty policy because First American cares more about its contractors than the consumer. If I were you I would just wade in sewage before allowing this company in my home. read more
