My mom recently passed, and her birthday is today. She and my grandma used to play Bingo when we…read morewere kids so the family came out to play. This hall is a little different from Bingo World. I feel like it cost more to play here. The clerks are not as attentive, they're nice but when you're trying to buy extra games they aren't close by. They also don't have trash cans under the table so we had to keep getting up to clean the table. The food is more expensive and they have less choices. Lastly they only take cash which was weird to me. Like no debit, credit, Apple Pay, just cash. Cool experience but I'll stick to the other Bingo Hall.

The portion of cheese in a cup for the nachos was very low. Snack bar is open daily at 12pm and closes at 10pm GAMES: You pick up the games inside of the bingo hall now. It's to the left of the Bingo announcer. The games have changed. For the very last game- you can only play if you are an INNER CIRCLE member. The winnings of this game are placed on your inner circle card for casino games. SIGH. What a waste of paying for a full book and not being able to use it if you 1. don't have your card 2. aren't into playing casino games Early bird pack: $6 3 card start packer: $8 9 Card pack: $20 Computer pack (includes 3 card early bird pack, 54 regular card game and regular specials) : $35 Also, seemed like there are more SPECIAL games than regular games, during a regular session Came on a Sunday, Regular Games still start at 2pm, end around 4pm

I had a lovely time at the Birchmere. It's such a quaint venue. I love that they have a lounge that…read moreincludes a bar area outside the main theater for those that arrive early. I don't mind the community seating, but I do prefer assigned seats. It would be nice if they sold seats based on the location of the table. A lot of people don't have time to get there 2 hours before a show to get a ticket number. Especially for a show on a weekday. The parking was full when I arrived at 7:15 for a 7:30 show. However, they conveniently provided extra parking across the street at St. Rita's. The sound was great. Jeffrey Osborne sounded amazing. He even walked through the theater a couple of times. It was a good time. I didn't try the food, but people seemed to enjoy it. My table had chicken fingers and the wing baskets. They said it was good. Overall, I would recommend this venue for an intimate experience. It's a bit dated but that adds to the charm.

Look around at the core of servers, food runners and happy people. The beer list is outstanding. The entertainment is always good-sometimes AMAZING. Robert Cray, Trombone Shorty, Keb Mo, Taj Mahal et Al. Get there early, get a number and you may very well be literally Front Row! Only buy tickets at the venue. Ticketmaster is the only safe option. But I believe in supporting venues not thieving mega corporate bandits.

Sure, it is small and can feel cramped, but I would strongly recommend a reservation before entering the establishment. The downstairs contains live music, and the music there, the jazz experience is like a baby brass band, I thoroughly enjoyed the quality and musicianship of the band, it was nice. The Ethiopian sisters did a great job as being professional, courteous, responsive, and adaptable servers calm under pressure and astute problem solvers when I had a bill that needed to be adjusted for me and a guest at the table. The bills were adjusted well and the servers were on it! The whisky glazed wings were tasty with delicious, nice texture not tasting rubbery at all like a lot of other places, and that bread pudding gelatin type dessert was way better than anything Blues Alley could come up with. The food here was the best that I have had in the District in quite some time, as the food scene has been severely lacking that even famous comedian DL Hughley referred DC as a hotel and bar city and not a restaurant city on his radio show before out of disappointment. Now, it can be a little dim and dark here and crammed, but the music, service, and food sure make up for it. I think it is a premier must visit spot. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here, as these spots are more of a rare dying breed in the District. We don't always need to have formal, boring white table cloth expensive restaurants. Live music destresses and provides and cozy vibe in the city for entertainment. I noticed the crowd had a bit more energy than they did at Blues Alley in Georgetown which is a bit more stiff and performative these days. It might have the legendary name, but it does not have the heart and soul that Jo Jos. Is Jo Jos perfect no, but it is a fabulous spot for dinner and live music in the DMV that seems authentic and grounded.
