I went to school here from preschool- 8th grade and I thought it was AMAZING! I still talk about how great the school is to this day when people ask where I went to school. The teachers & staff take such great care of the kids and I have made lifetime friends as you can see below. These girls I grew up with, they are like sisters to me. My best friend from second grade (in the pic below) is getting married and I get to stand by her side. And even better, we had grandparents & parents day so that the whole family is involved! The teachers are providing kids with tools for when they grow up to be successful. What better way to bring your children here and have them learn about God!! I went here, I am now 28 years old and my little cousins now go here and she had my KINDERGARTEN teacher as her own!! These teachers LOVE what they do hence why they stay for a long time :) read more

I came here to attend the funeral service of a friends father that I have known for a very long time. He was a member of this congregation, but a Pastor serving in another area. The Chapel was nice, big and bright which made me feel very welcomed. The Celebration of Life service was personal and very beautiful just like Cliff! I would go there again if needed to go. read more

I attended ASLS 15 years ago and absolutely loved it! I am still close friends with many of my friends that I met there. Once I graduated from the school, I worked in their summer camp program as a CIT and then a counselor. I felt encouraged to grow in my faith and went on to minor in Biblical Studies in college. I still recommend to this school to all my friends with kids and I hope to one day send my kids there. read more

I attended ASLS from 1st - 8th grade. My dad is in construction and worked on the church. He ended up pulling me out of public school and sending me to ASLS. I can honestly say this school changed my life! I made life long friendships and have memories to last a lifetime. I met my best friend at this school and obtained a group of girls that not only are my friends but are my sisters for life. (see pictures below) The teachers and faculty at this school treat each child as if they were their own and put so much love and dedication into their work. My dad was a single father who raised me on his own. This school not only supported me and my education but supported him as well. It wasn't always easy financially for my dad to put me through private school but the level of support and understanding he received from ASLS is unbelievable. There was never any judgment or criticism. One of my amazing teachers even attended the Mother's Day event with me as my stand in mom. That is the kind of dedication you will receive at Abiding Savior and that's only one story! There are so many more regarding all of the past and present teachers I could share! ASLS has amazing after school activities such as Basketball, Volleyball, Flag Football, Track and more! Lets not forget the amazing Girl Scout Troop! :) They have an amazing summer camp program and an after school program Extended Care. I recommend this school to everyone I know and plan to send my son there once he's old enough. ASLS had such a positive effect on me that I decided to get my teaching degree. I hope to one day be able to support, love and dedicate my life to my students as these teachers have. I am 28 years old now, I graduated from ASLS almost 15 years ago and I have every intention to apply to work for ASLS once my degree is completed. I attended here from kindergarten to 8th grade (class of '07!) and I loved it! All of my teachers took a genuine interest in my well being and I could tell the actually cared whether I was doing alright. I've made friends here that I have to this day, and I met my best friend here. So thankful for this place! I went to school at the same time as Emily and I'm really disappointed she had the experience she did but I'm super grateful for mine and from the people I know who are still teaching/on staff there, I can honestly say it's still an amazing experience. ASLS carries so many happy memories for me. I attended Abiding Savior from 2nd grade to 8th grade, and even worked as an after school counselor and summer camp counselor for 3 years! ASLS is so special because of the small class sizes that give the students an opportunity for extra help and specialized learning and growing bonds with all of our classmates. I have gained some of my best friends from ASLS that I still spend time with even as an adult. The teachers were also very caring and have been cheerleaders for me as I have grown up in my academics, career, and faith. As a parent that put two girls through their Preschool and elementary school, I have to say I'm very grateful. The ratio of Teacher to students is so much better than public schools. I feel they got a far better one on one education. Plus I loved the trips that the students take every year. Such a great way to educate the students. read more

We love this preschool! A coworker had mentioned this school when we were looking earlier this year and she recommended I check it out. Since having my son enrolled here, we have heard other positive reviews about this preschool. Another mom I met at a neighbors kid birthday party said she loved ASL preschool for her daughter and would have liked her to continue going there but they moved. She said the school was awesome and after our 5 months being there and having him in summer camp, I have to agree. Our son was enrolled in Mrs Rivers class and it took some time to adjust with the new change having enrolled late in the school year, but he is very happy here with his new friends and teachers. I was impressed with their program. My son has grown socially and spiritually. He enjoys singing and their dance classes. They have great options for our son to participate in, such as dance, Spanish class and sports program. We also enjoy their reading program to purchase books monthly to read to our son and grow his love for learning at home. We think it is awesome! We have added to our home library and he loves his books and reading time. The communication with his teacher and school staff is wonderful. They are very patient and understanding with all our concerns and they are respectful. We can email his teacher or school staff. They have an app now for their school where you can report student absences, send a note to the teacher and get school announcements and updates. They also have a student lunch program to purchase hot/cold lunches for your child. This was a bonus for us! Personally, I was excited to have checked this place out after my first appointment and tour. From that initial appointment I was impressed with the school. I would definitely recommend checking this preschool out. As a mom, their campus is clean and classrooms are educational with age appropriate toys for learning and the staff are wonderful. I suggest those shopping around for a good preschool to consider this school and also check the online Childcare Licensing reports to compare with other schools. ASL preschool has a great record! This review is for the anxious, nervous, attached, over-bearing (admittedly) and incredibly "hover-parent" out there! I am one of these parents! Guilty! And I can tell you this is an incredible school, and not for one second do I feel any qualms about my little 3 year old daughter going there! My daughter Sophia has Miss. Jessica and will have Miss. Rivers in the Fall and I could not be more thrilled! As a Preschool teacher myself, I chose for my daughter to go here because 1. It's not where I teach (that was a big one) and 2. I LOVE everything about this school! It is truly an amazing school! I am that parent that calls the office to check about 2X daily, but every time I call, I get the most patient and kind responses, even though I am sure it must be maddening hearing from me. (I'm a bit neurotic, but I digress haha) But even with my neuroticism and worry and concerns, they take it in and so gracefully I might add!! This school is professional, incredibly thorough in their education of faith and mainstream curriculum, and so fun for the students! My daughter came home the other day with a wooden cross with little scribbles (art) on it, and I welled up in tears because she was so proud, and could not stop saying "Miss. Jessica my best friend." This school rocks! And for those weary parents, I promise you, this is the place to take your littles! Great job Abiding Savior, we are very much fans! And for 2 working parents (Teacher and Paralegal) we thank you for making us feel so at ease with our daughter in your program from 7:45am to 5pm everyday. Love you guys! We are very much enjoying having our children at Abiding Savior. First let me say that both myself and my sister attended here many, many years ago. It was a struggle financially for my parents to keep us here but ultimately it was the right place for me. The 2 times they tried to move me to public school were unsuccessful. I was a shy kid and always singled out for being new. The kids were mean and I was picked on terribly. While I am all for kids learning to adapt and stand up for themselves, this went far beyond that. Ultimately I attended ASLS for 8 years before leaving for HS. My sister was here during the same time period but did leave for a public Jr. High in 6 & 7 grade with no issues. The small class sizes and spending 8 years with the same friends was a great experience, although transitioning to a very large public HS was difficult, I was able to do so due to friends from extracurricular sports, etc. Prior to putting our 2 kids here, my husband and I considered all the options. My concern was the transition from a small private school into a large public HS and the need to make sure they had other connections through sports, church, etc. so they had larger friend pool when they make that transition. That is something we will continue to be aware of and make sure we provide them as they get older. For now our son is in his 3rd year of Preschool and our daughter in her 2nd year on the elementary side. First we will start with the preschool...the care and compassion of the teachers is fantastic. This is truly a God-centered program with teachers who are passionate about teaching our kids about Jesus, how to be good friends, how to treat others with kindness, and how to work together and show each other respect. It is a socialization/behavior focused preschool, not an academic one so know that going in. Most likely your child will not leave preschool being able to read without additional schooling/tutoring outside of the school day (we had an expectation of this coming from our prior school but I do know that is not the norm). Having come from a very academic preschool this was a hard transition for us, we worried that our daughter was going backward when her reading did not advance at age 4, but we quickly realized this was a very good place for our daughter who had the academic piece but was lacking on the behavior side. She thrived during her PS year at ASLS and as excelled on the elementary side. For our son we do miss the discipline of our prior school very much and do feel that a more strict, academic environment would be better for him this year as he is in 3rd year of PS (due to cut off dates) and does act out quite a bit. His behavior has been much more of a challenge and teacher with a more firm hand would likely benefit him at this point. Regardless, the PS staff and teachers have worked hard to assist in guiding him and helping him to grow and we very much appreciate their efforts. The only thing we would say is lacking is an instructor that with a more firm style to assist with some of the more strong-willed children...even a male PS teacher might be a nice addition. I would not lower my rating for this as overall we would highly recommend this as the program for your child. You will not find a more loving and warm environment for your little one! The elementary side has also been fantastic. We are in our 2nd year here and had a wonderful kinder experience and are loving 1st grade! Our K class was 12 students and our 1st is 18...we love these ratios. This allows for one on one instruction when needed which is fantastic. We also love all of the 'extras' ASLS has to offer...Spanish, the enrichment program, art masters, computer lab, etc. Our daughter has exceled on the elementary side and we love watching her learn and grow. Early in 1st grade she did complain that she was bored and already knew what they were learning but we have explained to her that she will always start with review during a new school year. She was rushing through her work, making mistakes and needed to learn to slow down and make sure she was doing things correctly before she could move on. She is an inpatient child so we just make sure and keep her engaged at home so that she always feels like she is learning something new. She is also an avid reader so that helps. We have also loved all the ways to get involved. I have enjoyed being a room parent/co-room parent each year & getting to know the other moms & families. We like that the PTL puts on so many fun events from the Annual Hoe-down to the Shake, Raffle and Roll event, donuts with dad, and now a new Father Daughter Dance. We would love to see more of these events in the future and enjoy all the ways we can continue to invest in our kids and their school by being a part of all these activities. SHAME ON ABIDING SAVIOR I live directly behind this Church and over the years my family and I have been very supportive and giving to this church Recently in the past few years I have been experiencing lack of respect From the Church and the Staff My residence is directly behind the church and over the past few years I have had to deal with the church renting out there parking lot to construction workers and they would hang out in the parking lot directly next my residence starting at 5am leaving there loud cars running Having loud conversations as they would wait for there co worker's playing music It was issue So I reached out to staff and I asked the lady who runs the office in the church if she could have the construction workers park a little closer to the church So it wasn't so loud Her response was very rude She began to tell me that I should have moved elsewhere And there was nothing she was going to do about it (That's a Real Christian Way of handling it) Now the Church has a Landscaper who Starts his Gas operated leaf blower every Saturday starting at 6:45am blowing through the parking lot And for anyone that has been to this church and has parked in the parking lot the parking lot Echos because of the way its setup And I have nothing against someone doing there job or a church that is trying to clean up there property But please have some common courtesy for your community 6:45am Would 9am be OK I thought a Church was to bring a community up not be rude and disrespectful to there neighbors read more

Great preschool, teachers genuinely care about the kids. Certainly has a family feeling to it. Teachers always make time to address parents concerns; In addition to the formal regular child assessment, which we found very helpful. Kids don't only grow accadimicaly but also spiritually. Abiding Savior is a gem of a preschool! Be sure not to overlook the building by its very humble appearance, the classrooms are filled, wall to wall, with the best educational toys and activities. The staff and teachers are the kindest, most loving people. The campus is very secure, with two sets of gates between the parking lot and the preschool. The preschool offers a great lunch bunch, with hot lunch meal options for the students. Instead of lunch bunch the students can select from several after-school activities, an extra hour of PE, dance, drama or language lessons. Our children have enjoyed the PE, dance and drama classes. Another plus is that the preschool accepts tuition via credit card, which is convenient. Because the preschool is so established the tuition is lower than the other two Christian preschools in Lake Forest. The campus allows drop off from 8:30 to 8:45 (and beyond if needed) so it is not a daily hassle and stress coming from a grade school to make it in time for preschool. Be sure to take a tour of the campus during your preschool search, you will definitely be impressed with the genuine warmth and dedication the office staff and teachers have for the students, that is exceptionally unique in South OC. read more

This school has been life-changing for my kids. Not only can I drop off and pick up my three kids all from the same location with the same schedule but they memorize bible verses and parent-teacher conferences are started in prayer. I am truly blessed to have my kids here and the staff and teachers are wonderful. Even if you struggle with finances they have options for you so don't eliminate the option just because of cost! Abiding Savior is a fabulous Christian pre-school and school! We started in the pre-school with my oldest son and then moved into the school when he was old enough. Each year we re-evaluate whether we should spend the money to keep our children at the school and every year it's a resounding YES! The teachers care about the students and parents incredibly! The principal has made some incredible changes to the school since she started several years ago - we now have Spanish and STEM in addition to the computer lab, science lab, library, Art Masters, and music program. The families at the school have been amazing and many have become close friends of ours. Abiding Savior has a small family feel that provides accountability for the students and top notch instruction. We are so blessed to be part of this school! Highly recommend! read more

Our child attended Abiding Savior, for 6 months. As parents of a child with special needs we were thoroughly disappointed with the lack of compassion and understanding they demonstrated. The teacher failed to include our child in the daily activities, they sat him in the back of the class facing the back wall, they only allowed him to participate in the classroom for an hour in a half, out of the 4 hours he attended. There was very little interaction between the teacher and our child. The teacher's lack of understanding and knowledge with teaching a child with special needs astounded us, for we were lead to believe that she had a background in special education. When confronting the teacher of possible solutions for our child, she was always on edge, overwhelmed, and weary. Which surprised us because she only had a classroom size of 12 kids. My child was the only one with special needs, and we provided a full time aide for him. Did I forget to mention he was only there for half the day? Due to the small ratio, we put our child here because we were under the impression that he was going to get the best quality of education. How can a "Christian" school reap the Lord's name for profit? read more

Our son and daughter have been attending the Abiding Savior school since preschool. We are extremely pleased with the education they are receiving and will strongly recommend the school to any parent looking for a Christ centered education for their children. We love that this school offers so many other programs other schools do not. Their music program is wonderful and both my kids have participated in this program. They offer Spanish to all grades, which you hardly ever hear of in other schools. Their enrichment program is also offered to most all grades. We really love this school. Our family became members of the church after our children started going to school. We found a home away from home and cannot find enough words to describe the warmth of everyone involved, from the teachers, principal, pastors to the ushers to the congregation in general. read more

I have had pleasure of having our daughter at Abiding Savior for 9 years. Many of the friends she made at this school are still her friends 10 years later. The teachers really care about the students. The service projects this school does for the community are wonderful. We loved that she could pray in school. We found Abiding Savior Lutheran School almost 5 yrs. ago, and we feel incredibly fortunate that we did. The school environment is welcoming, the school families are extremely friendly and the teachers are amazing. The teachers all know each child by name and show the students how much they care about them each day. The teachers create positive, supportive relationships and encourage an environment where learning can flourish. Abiding Savior has a curriculum that includes Spanish, Art, Music and Computers as well as a STEM program. The children have the opportunity to participate in the school band, act in theatre productions and play intramural sports. Our child has benefitted from the smaller class size, made many close friendships, improved overall grades and even made honor roll. They say that "a great teacher can change a student's life", at Abiding Savior there is an entire school full of these great teachers.
