I can't decide between a four and a five. My refrigerator quit working on a Sunday evening. I was thrilled to be able to call and make an appointment on the weekend for Monday afternoon. Don't use for dryer repair. Dryer was spinning and drying fine - just had a loud noise. Technician determined it was a roller. Replaced the roller, belt and pulley. Used one time and the drum stopped spinning. Had them back out and the belt needed to be replaced again. Turned on the dryer with something inside it as soon as he left and the drum wouldn't turn. Came back out and determined I need a new motor. They left the area around my dryer a mess and dirty fingerprints on the wall behind my dryer. I decided to call another company out and they said the wrong size parts were used on my machine so the new company replaced these items again and the dryer is working great - did not need a new motor. I don't normally leave reviews but I called this company first due to all the great reviews so wanted to put more warnings out there. I did get a partial refund but still had to pay the trip fee. I requested the refund before I knew they used wrong parts or I would have asked for all my money back. read more

Able sent a technician to determine why the ice maker in my refrigerator was not working. Robert told me I needed a new ice maker. The cost was $394.54, and Robert came back to install it. Still no ice. On the third visit I was told that I needed a new compressor, since the refrigerator was not cold enough. Finally on the fourth visit I was told that all I needed was refrigerant, for an additional cost of $400.00. The morning after the refrigerant was added, there was no cold air at all. At this point we were done. Marie told me they would refund the $394.54 if they could take the ice maker back. Robert came back to get the ice maker, and they sent me a check for $294.59-they kept the trip charge of $99.95. So I'm out $499.95 for the experience. Not complaining about the cost of refrigerant, I made that decision on the advice of the repair technician. But it's a cheap shot to keep the trip charge when you couldn't fix the problem. Update: Able management contacted me by phone after they saw the review, blamed the problem on an oversight, and promised to send me the $99.95 balance if I would take down the review. I countered by proposing an update since nothing I wrote was inaccurate. Got the check today so here's the update. read more

We are very disappointed with Able Appliance Repair. On 4/21/2021, we hired Able Appliance to repair our 8 year old freezer. They "repaired" the freezer for $699 (way too expensive!). On 8/14//2021, less than 4 months later, the freezer quit freezing. We called Able Appliance and they told us they would charge us for a service fee, or if the freezer needed repairs, we would have to pay for the repairs. No thanks! Had a repair man to come out to fix dishwasher door that kept falling when opened. He looked and the springs said they were stretched out and cut them, it took about 10 min and $250+ . After a month and a half (I was out of town for two weeks of it) it broke again. I called and asked for a refund and they would not refund me (there is a 30 day policy, not 37 days) and said whatever repair work done would not be free . I had a leak by the door of my Bosch dishwasher. No a good thing on wood floors. I called Able Appliance since they had done a nice job repairing my Speed Queen washer. Ricky contacted me when he was on his way and showed up during the scheduled time. We ran the dish washer to identify the leak, naturally it didn't. Ricky pulled the washer partially out and checked things over while the washer was running. We even loaded the dish washer up and ran it to see if that caused any issue.....naturally not. He told me to run it frequently over the next 30 days and if I spotted a leak to video it and call him. They would return with no service charge. Ricky gave me a lot of information during his inspection. I feel fine with the service charge and the 30 day call back. I recommend Able Appliance. read more

Have used them twice - once for a Samsung front loader washer repair (replace rods because it kept getting off balance) and another time to replace a bad water valve on a Kenmore washer. On 3 separate occasions, I had an appointment "window" setup and had to call Able Appliance when the technician did not show up. I then found out the part he needed had not arrived. I understand having to wait for a part to arrive, but I do not understand leaving the appointment on the books and not communicating that with the customer. Had a repairman come check the freezer on my refrigerator and was not defrosting. He came to clean the drain and cleaned out the frost but said I would eventually need a new refrigerator because the compressor was failing but while he was in the freezer the light was not working did not address that and left his flashlight in the freezer with the food!
