Albert from Able Chimney Sweeps was one of the hardest, most efficient workers we've ever had to our home.

Escape 30 Inch Gas Insert Heat N Glo…read more So I went ahead and finally purchased my gas insert. It's been a long road on my part and I should be giving FireSide 5 starts just for dealing with me and doing the back and forth phone calls and emails. I just like things perfect what can I say. I decided to go with the 30inch Escape there highest end model for that size. Added the wifi package so I can control the fire from my iPhone of course. Jamie was the brilliant representative I worked with and he was very patient with me and explained everything more than twice. They offer a warranty and extend it for a fee. Plus the warranty on the fireplace from Heat N Glow. This place just seems to have the best equipment and a huge selection. I just had my fireplace install finished yesterday. They did a wonderful job and I love the outcome. I'm even thinking of buying a 2nd for my basement. On a sidenote, after the burn in clean I was putting the frame back together after cleaning which is something I don't think anyone should do except a professional, and I just so happen to have scratched my custom back surround. Fireside was nice enough to have someone come out and totally repaint it and it looks great. They charged me nothing for this service. They also replaced my chimney cap with the black square one and I take fault in not telling them todo that the first time. I just didn't like the SS tube. I was only charged for the extra cost of the black vent. I would definitely recommend this establishment over the competition.

2nd experience with this company, first fireplace was fine but didn't have them do much so we went…read moreback when we were looking for another to add to our house. This was a 16k fireplace- the project was a mess and damaged our house extensively in the process. They lost the original design of the hearth, pushing our project back weeks because no one noticed it hadn't been ordered. Failed to communicate dates that the inspection was occurring from the city, so he showed up while we were out of town. The subcontractor-mason was a mess- I expect dust etc when you're completing any type of remodel but this was extensive and he took very little care about not causing a mess or damage. -he didn't cover our rug and ended up wrecking it with mortar in both the living room and by the door -he didn't cover stair treads which ended up getting extensively scratched -only partially covered walkway, so wood flooring was scratched -used wood bench and my new kitchen table to lay out stones and tools (both ended up with scratches, dents and paint chips- I actually heard him drop stones onto the bench from above - dropped stones on the wood floor causing a chunk to come out of my floor - our couch was covered in huge chunks of wet mortar across the room -bathroom had mortar tracked into the rugs (bc shoes were never removed only wiped on MY rug -built in bench that they new needed to open can now not open because the stone he placed is too large to allow it to. Overall- company doesn't care. ‍

Love the heat that is now going in the room instead of up the chimney. We have another fireplace and when we redo that room, will certainly be back for another.

My frustration in trying to make an appointment with Woodland Stoves, along with other incidents,…read morehas prompted me to express myself in hopes that management might reflect on this feedback and revisit certain business practices. I will try to be objective. 1) Purchased a wood stove from them 8 years ago. It was difficult to get the attention of anybody working there, but eventually we were helped. 2) Purchased a hearth pad at the same time. The design was wrong upon delivery - too late to change. 3) Installation by them was okay. Employees were patient, efficient and friendly. They had, however, initially positioned the hearth pad the wrong way. My wife, who was present, corrected them, but they had already drilled the hole for the stovepipe in the ceiling, so things were a little off. I can live with it. Clean up was great. 4) We also hired Woodland Stoves to service our wood stove every two years. Scheduling was a bit difficult, but the wait was no more than two months, and things were done rather efficiently. 5) Having Woodland Stoves change out the hearth pad was marked by poor or no communication on their part. I had the feeling that they were not very invested in helping me with this, and when the error in communication came to light, the exchange turned sour. Frustrating. 6) Day of installation of the new hearth pad - and cleaning - was great. Workers were again kind and thorough. 7) This summer I have tried to schedule an appointment for a routine service. There is an online form one can fill out and submit. One can also call and have information taken from you. For some reason, my attempts to get an appointment have gotten nowhere. I filled out the online form twice and called once. Supposedly, this only puts you in a QUEUE for the scheduler. After three weeks, I have not been contacted, neither via email nor by phone. There is no mention made via phone conversation or online of a suggested timeline for a simple response. This has been beyond frustrating. At the very least, service representatives should make some mention of when to receive notification. I feel that my request has been buried, forgotten or ignored, and this has prompted me to finally take my business elsewhere. Three attempts - and three weeks - is beyond acceptable. I was never even contacted by them with a suggested date for the cleaning. I submitted an online request with another company and got a personal response within 24 hours. To me, this speaks volumes of a company's actual service, and I look forward to doing business with them. Woodland Stoves - I really, really tried.....
