They really know how to interact with the kids and are so engaging and kind. The space is amazing with so many toys and games and kid friendly areas. My son is so sad to be done with his therapy as he will miss his therapists and the games he likes to play. I can't recommend this place enough! They are very familiar with needs of Gestalt Language Processors and kids with Autism. They use proven play based strategies to support your child with speech. We have seen a big improvement with our child in such a short amount of time. He loves attending speech and always has a blast. Every kid in there is happy and learning. The play space is very large and there are lots of activities based on the interest of the child. Our therapist is Ms. Maggie, but it is nice that the other therapist know my son and welcome him in as well. It is just a really warm, caring environment. We love it!

The email and phone correspondance is not prompt. When I spoke with the Founder and Administrator, Leah Skinner, she was snarky and unprofessional in her tone of communication. I was quite taken aback. The Academy works in an area that is critical for many children. The leadership needs to have a spirit of positive and professional customer service which I felt was lacking. I was saddened and suprised to encounter that. The experience made me choose another provider instead.

After initial testing and recommendations for treatment she explained our daughters individual plan thoroughly. She has answered every question we've had and quickly returns emails and phone calls. The staff has also been wonderful with our daughter. They engage her in areas of interests (like star wars!) and then draw her into the lessons with ease. Though she does not like school our daughter loves coming to her "pace" appointments. We saw small benefits of the treatments and lessons very quickly and continue to see a gradual and steady improvement in her areas of need. Her teacher at school has also noticed the changes. Sadly her nice personality does not take away from the fact that 12K spent did not translate into better grades; to the contrary, my daughter got the worst grades of her entire life right after KPLC. Also, turns out that there was a miscommunication with Kaiser. They only do hearing tests, not testing for Central Auditory Processing Disorder. So, I am going to go to my alma mater Sac State for CAPD testing for $200.00 rather than the $750.00 the woman Carol Hess recommend. Big savings for something my daughter probably doesn't have anyway.

This school helps people that were bullied at other schools to help the student with academic excellence, help with socializing, making friendships, and having a lot of fun here, and Newton changing their lives forever!! I've been here for 7 straight years now and I'm going into my Senior year here at Newton! I'm graduating next year! Before I came to Newton, I was very shy, I didn't have a lot of friends, I was struggling to socialize with anyone, and was scared to do a lot of things. But when I came to Newton Learning Center, it has changed my life forever!! I made so many accomplishments, friendships, and progress here! I'm always in a positive attitude, I make everyone here feel awesome, I work very hard for academic excellence here, I help everyone here at Newton, I am very social with everyone here at Newton, and I feel very confident and not afraid speaking in front of everyone here!
