After a week, there were still some angry bees. He said about 95% of the time one spray works with one shot, but the work is guaranteed for a year. I texted him and he came out immediately once again and sprayed the heck out of that area. The first time around he sprayed the whole house which was a bonus. Great, another day where I need a service call on Labour Day Weekend (if anyone knows me -- I…read morealways run into problems on a holiday weekend - be it Memorial Day, Labour Day, Christmas, Thanksgiving... you name it, I've had problems then!). Anyway, I was notified by my HOA that I had a hornet's nest on my patio. Frantically, I sent out a blast-request on Yelp for an immediate hornet nest removal request for quote (with pictures). It turned out (Thanks for helping to identify!) that this was a bald-faced hornet nest - similar to yellowjackets, but WOW, these bugs were HUGE. Jacob from Robbins Pest Solutions (Jacob R - I assume he's Jacob Robbins) answered the call quickly and efficiently! For a $250 flat rate (they'll come back if they rebuild the nest within a few days), he showed up ON LABOR DAY (today!) at 1:30pm (within the timeframe of 12pm to 2pm that he quoted me on Yelp Messaging), and quickly set to work cutting down the hornet nest. First, he sprayed the inside with a flower-based insecticide - that was pressurized, but didn't need a pressure washer to go with it. Then, he took the scraper thing (you normally use these for wallpapers) and scraped off the nest, putting it in an industrial-sized bucket. Finally, he dusted off the top area to get rid of any residue (and I assume to prevent future hornets from rebuilding a new nest). Given that hornets only build nests for a single season, I reaaaally hope they don't come back to my place. But if they do, I know who I'm contacting. The initial assigned person promised how their bait and strategy is advanced and even have a entire village built to test the poison bait, DO NOT TRUST any of that. I paid $100/month not including several hundreds of dollars in the initial service, all they did is come and replace bait station, when asked to do more to put it under control, the only thing they did is to put snap trap inside the station, nothing more after that. they killed probably 6(visible ones) or so rodents through half year of service, i did that myself within a week with snap trap and poison. Then winter came, the rodent activity got worse, got like 8 rat holes and a collapsed stone tiles. And i told them i saw a rat peaking outside the hole the other day, and the onsite dude told me it could be anything, and if i don't take a picture of it, they wouldn't trust what i said. i mean i subscribed them for the exact service and there are holes all over a corner of my fence, do i look like i subscribed and paid $100/month for fun? Most of all, this is no way to talk to a customer, it takes years to build a trust, and only 1 second to destroy. I was willing to give them 1-2 month to give them one more try, but the dude just told me i should cancel it which i did. and the dude ended up taking away all my bait stations, including ones i owned myself, i thought i paid hundred of dollars in the initial service to get those bait station and baits and $100 per month for those. This is a company that you pay money to them for a service, and they spend more time telling you what you need to do than do it them.

I ONLY wanted the rat boxes done and repeatedly stated to the company that did not want chemicals sprayed around the house. I would tell the workers this the day before to remind them and they still could not follow that simple instruction. Less work right? So, they screwed up many times. The final time was December with another new guy showed up the day after I reminded him, in writing, not to spray chemicals. Guess what, they showed up the next day WITH A SUPERVISOR, and proceeded to spray chemicals all around my house. They also put GLUE traps in my crawl space without asking and I never would have authorized that. I decided to cancel my contract AFTER that and called the company running the comcast-like gauntlet of 'what if we gave you this or that credit'. I declined and asked to cancel and they removed my credit card. I was not informed of any remaining balance. After that, they sent me a bill for the service that they once again screwed up. Keep in mind I paid full price to these guys for years just to have the rat boxes done so I was grossly overpaying and they got way more out of me than they put in. Needless to say, by the time they did come back out to address the original contract, they removed all but one outside trap. Then that technician insisted on coming over to check the trap on a day I wouldn't be home. I asked him to come by on a day I am home as I am not comfortable with people being at my property/house when I am not. He said he will just get permission from the landlord since she paid the bill. Why would a person/company not respect such a simple request? I feel awful that my landlord paid this amount of money for literally nothing but a headache. If you haven't hired them, might as well try anywhere else first.
