I chose not to, because being friendly and keeping a facility clean are basic expectations of any storage company. If a business cannot meet those, it should not be trusted with people's most personal and irreplaceable belongings. I am posting this review now because customers deserve to know what happens after the contract is signed. Within three months, my rate was raised by nearly 100%, with only 30 days' notice. I called the company multiple times and responded through every channel available, providing clear, factual information. Each time, I received the same scripted answer, pointing to fine print instead of addressing the ethics or impact of their actions. When I filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau (Case #24034409), Extra Space responded that the increase was "within the law" and permitted by the lease, again avoiding any discussion of the ethics behind doubling a customer's rate in 90 days or the burden placed on people who cannot easily relocate their possessions. I understand the contract I signed. What I reject is the idea that this is a legitimate "market adjustment." It is a calculated business strategy that exploits customers during moments of transition. Most people seek storage when life is already unsettled, moving to a new city, downsizing, or navigating other stressful and costly changes. To impose extreme rate hikes knowing people do not have the means or time to move their belongings elsewhere is deeply disappointing. For most of us, storage is not about "extra stuff." It is about protecting what is important: pieces of our lives that cannot be replaced. I trusted this company to do what was right. Instead, I learned a painful lesson: integrity does not seem to matter to them.

I got a call from them today telling me that they were moving…read moremy things to another unit so that another customer could put their car in my unit during the hurricane. I have a 12x25 unit. I told her under no circumstances are my belongings to be moved. She replied with yours doesn't have much stuff in there and this other person needs to put their car in there. Secondly I asked her what she was doing going in my unit. Those are my personal belongings and for them to open my unit is considered breaking and entering. She stated it was her right to go in since she owned the storage company. After speaking with Indian River Sheriffs Dept they assured me she committed a felony by opening my unit. I keep my trailer in that unit and can turn the trailer caddy cornered and fit my SUV in there. These people are crazy and have no business operating a business.

We have 5 units for our business - all air conditioned with roll up overhead garage doors accessible from the driveway. They receive our shipments and are always cheerful and helpful. We never see bugs or rodents. It is well lit and convenient to the beach where we live and work. The 2 brothers that own the facility are very appreciate of our business. It's nice to be working with a family owned business rather than a corporation. They have a forklift and we schedule with them when we have a container of merchandise arriving. They are very helpful and efficient. They do not accept AmEx which is the only inconvenience as I have to use Visa.
