He was the only person I had come out for a quote who showed me spots where my lights were already airsealed, rather than trying to upsell me on that. There were a few small holes with wires through them that just needed a tiny circle of insulated foam to seal them up properly, and he included that as just part of the base level work for insulating my attic properly! Everyone else was trying to upcharge like $500-$700 for that. He was able to fit me into the schedule within the week (I did get lucky that a new build got delayed creating an opening), but everyone else wasn't able to come out for 2+ weeks. It's a small family operation that he's running, and you can really feel how informed, passionate, and kind they are in their approach to their work. And the cherry on top was my dogs were absolutely obsessed with Ben! They were sad the job took under two hours to complete haha! Would definitely recommend AtticPro to anyone for insulation needs. They're Xcel approved contractors so they were able to handle the appropriate rebates for me, saving me even more money!

They sold us $35,000 solar panels in October of 2022, installed them in December, and then basically ignored us until April without getting the panels inspected/approved by the county. That's when I was FINALLY able to get in touch with Forrest, the owner, to try to get this project moved along. Forrest is the one who has continued the practice at IHE of overpromising and delivering next to nothing, as he told me over and over again that he was personally handling our job and that we were THIS close to getting it over the finish line. That was in April of 2023. Fast forward to now (mid-November)... four failed inspections later (many of which were due to his electrician not showing up at all), and now Forrest won't return my calls or texts. We have a lawyer who has sent a demand letter five days ago - still no response from Forrest nor anybody at IHE. I'm guessing we will have to sue him for all of our losses and future losses. I'm also aware that we are one of MANY clients who have been burned by him, so I'd expect more of this to hit him. I'd be careful buying their other services as well, since this could all blow up in his face. Additionally, Forrest promised to pay the electrical portion of our Xcel Energy bills, since we've been paying the financing on this system since February (for panels that are NOT functional) and therefore paying double what our energy bills used to be. He reimbursed us for March, April and May, but then stopped.... I guess we just have to eat the June, July, August, September, October, November, etc. etc. etc. costs that HE put us in. Beware of the glowing reviews of Ideal Home Energy and Forrest - he's just a good salesperson that tells you what you want to hear. Don't get burned like we did.

I hired this company to do air sealing and new insulation in my older Denver house. They were kind…read moreof a case of over-promising and under-delivering. But, to be fair, they didn't charge me for the things they didn't deliver. On the day that the work was done, the techs ended up not doing any air sealing. It wasn't entirely clear to me why, either the house didn't need it or it couldn't be done. Of course they didn't charge me for it, but that also meant I didn't get the Xcel rebate, which requires air sealing to be done. This seemed like something they should've figured out when they came out to do a quote. I also have a room without attic space above it, but I knew for a fact that the rafter space between ceiling and roof can be accessed from the main attic. So I asked them to include that in the quote and blow some insulation into that space. At the end of the work, the tech said they couldn't because there was no access to that space. By that point it was too late to try to convince them otherwise, since they'd already packed up. They adjusted the invoice to not charge me for that space, but I'm still left with a room without any insulation above it. They also installed a solar attic vent fan. Initially when they arrived, they said they'd have to reschedule that work, since they didn't have a fan in stock, but ended up locating one and installing it. I understand that there are supply chain woes, but when I had to make the appointment 2 months in advance, it kinda felt like they could've worked those issues out. There were also a few other things they said they'd do but ended up not doing without much explanation, including sealing/insulating the attic hatch, and installing vent baffles. I hate to be ageist, but both the person who came out to do the quote and the two techs looked to be in their 20s, so I couldn't help but wonder if they simply weren't experienced enough to know how to do all these things in an older home, and were primarily trained to go into an attic with a hose and spray insulation til done. In the end, the work they did do was fine. No damage or mess, and plenty of new insulation in the attic. But I don't know that it was really worth it. They said I should see a reduction in energy bills of something like 10%, but that's hard to measure when a) my bills are already pretty low and b) bills will change by 10% or more month-to-month based on just the weather. I had hoped that at least the new insulation would help reduce the large temperature differential between the levels in my house, but thus far that seems to not be the case, and I can't say I've noticed the a/c running less than it used to. So I don't regret having the work done, since the previous insulation was desperately out of date, and hopefully I'll see bigger dividends in the winter. But thus far it hasn't really made much difference.

He even talked me out of spending $15k+ on new storm windows, giving me much affordable options that will yield better results. In addition to all of his recommendations, he is getting me a $40 annual credit with xcel at no cost to me. Among other things, he discovered that our bathroom is venting into insulation in our attic (a risk factor for mold) and that our sunlight needs to be sealed. The lady I spoke with, who's name I've forgotten, was extremely helpful. After spending a bit of time asking questions to understand our project and needs, she went told me that she wasn't aware of the any rebates but that she'd look into it and follow up with me. Later than evening she called me and confirmed there were currently no rebates, and concluded that it didn't make any sense for us to have them audit our home. The way she put it was roughly "we don't like to put ourselves in situations where we can't add value". I really appreciate the honestly and extra effort she made.

Joe, the owner, came to inspect our furnace. I've done technical diagnostics and repairs on sophisticated machines for decades and I've always been in customer service jobs. Joe impressed me with the way he diagnosed the furnace and the meters he used to ensure he wasn't just guessing at the performance of the unit. He was also very professional, yet pleasant and took the time to answer any questions I had. Seeing how he performed earned my trust and I'm looking forward to him returning in the Spring to check our air conditioning unit.

I want to alert the public to the unscrupulous actions of this Lakewood-based company…read more A year ago a serviceman from Walrath Heating and Air Conditioning alerted me that my 20 year-old furnace was on its last leg. He suggested that I plan to save $6000 to $7000 for a new one this fall. In November I met with a Walrath salesperson who evaluated where the furnace was located in my crawl space and advised that the price would be $8000. Two days later his written proposal came in at $10,000. When I asked him about the difference, he said that he had forgotten to add in how labor intensive my particular installation would be. He was certain it would go into a second day. I took him at his word. It took the workmen less than 6 hours to complete the job. The salesman and head of the company - now called Walrath Mechanical - refuse to talk to me about the $2000 extra I was charged for labor that was not required. This is a scam. I have since noted on Yelp that I am not the only reviewer of Walrath who trusted a grossly inflated bid. These guys are crooks. Homeowners like me and managers of commercial properties may have once appreciated this small company. Don't be fooled - they no longer care about you.
