they cost me over 5k to do my taxes, they messed them up so much I had to pay for other services to fix the problem and I'm still working with IRS as per there completion of my taxes I owe way more than what they showed on the returns, - so I over paid for services that were wrong - wrong - and now I'm paying late fees to IRS from their services. I would never ever use this company again in anyway **and they were not there to help me figure out what they forgot to on my taxes **as I look at the years, I see so many issues and errors, I should have seen before but I had thought they had my best interest but I'm so wrong and should have seen it. I am so disappointed with the problems I have with my 2022 tax return. Both my husband and I have terrible penalties because of paperwork that was not filed correctly or not at all. As well, communication is the worst. They are expensive, non responsive , and do shoddy work. read more

If you are filing a personal return with the Hillsboro office, Above All Accounting does not want your business. To file for the 2023 tax year I was charged $500 even to accept me as a client and receive my materials, which I turned over to them in late February. When the filing deadline got close with no word from the preparer, I inquired, only to be told that Above All does not guarantee they will have a return completed on time. The deadline passed, they filed for an extension, and got around to completing my return 6 weeks later--for an additional $469 charge. Communication and customer service is absolutely awful. (I do want to exempt the receptionist from these comments. She was very nice, and obviously very stressed by having to represent this company's indefensible practices.) read more

Turns out I had been declaring the wrong exemption for 2019. I owe a TON of money! Know what could've helped? If I had been advised by the male (I won't name names) I worked with last year so that I wouldn't owe so much this year. THIS year I went to H&R Block, who charged $200 less than Above All Accounting AND was advised about vouchers to pay the state tax and was told to change my exemption number so that NEXT year I won't owe as much. That was great advice! Also, we sat with this very knowledgeable accountant for an hour and she figured everything out right then and there. When we left, we knew exactly what we owed. Took the guy at Above All Accounting 3 weeks and we had to go back for the paper work. Also, he had told us it wouldn't cost us more than $3,000 but of course when all the paper work arrived at our house, the actual amount was way over $4,000! This year we owe a LOT more and I totally blame this agency for not advising ANYTHING. And no, Lisa, I am not taking this or any other review down, so don't bother contacting me (I had written a review last year that wasn't to her liking and she persuaded me to take it down). read more

I have been doing taxes with them from 2013 to 2017. For 2017 I had given all the documents well in advance. Even then my taxes were returned on the last day. I stayed up all night going through them and found a lot of errors. Even then I payed them all the money they asked for no bargaining ever. After that I got 2 letters from IRS. I contacted these guys to get help as they had done the taxes. They said they are reviewing one notice and they will be a fee to file the reply with IRS. I said I will file the reply just tell me the computation of 2017 tax addition (Just a number) They waited till the last moment and then I get a mail saying they have filled a reply and I owe them $290. When replied back I did not hear anything back and then I get hit with a $243 Net 15 invoice and If I do not pay in 10 days 18% interest. I am really upset with these guys. read more

I highly recommend you find another accounting firm. She has glowing reviews but the service I received was the worst accounting I have experienced in 16 years as a small business owner. I had three goals when I scheduled the initial meeting. 1. Complete all business tax fillings/documents from previous years that were somehow missed. 2. Complete both personal and business taxes from 2021. 3. Close out the business. The initial appointment with Lisa went great and it seemed she knew what she was doing. That all changed March of this year when I was trying to figure out why my taxes had not been filed yet. I closed my business in late 2021 and had all necessary documents to her by late January. I was assured by Jared multiple times including March 3rd that they would be filed by the business deadline in mid-March. After not hearing from them, I again reached out late March. Jared told me this time that they had to file extensions for both business and personal and the returns would be completed shortly. This ended up not happening until mid-June after numerous attempts to reach out and find out why I was still waiting. Jared was always quick and honest with reply's but Lisa was basically unresponsive/ignored emails regarding both the tax returns and forms I had requested she file months before. Not only did I get fines from the state of Oregon, I just found out that they never filed extensions for either my personal or business returns so that was a flat out lie. I now have fees for both. The last time I spoke with Lisa, she did not appologive or give any reason for the horrible communication on her part. This alone should cause you hessitation. Find someone else or be really good about making sure they do what they say. read more

A friend here in California referred me to Above All after H&R botched my taxes by failing to file until the day taxes were due (I brought everything to H&R in February of that year) at which point I finally got a call back to tell me they hadn't even started my taxes and that their fees were now doubled.
