On multiple occasions the noise started at 6:05 am, earlier than permitted with the company that came daily to power wash to the portable bathrooms at that hour. It sounded like a wrestling match of gorillas every morning. One neighbor is a cancer patient, many of the others are senior citizens, all have been subjected to 12 hour days and longer, oftentimes seven days a week, of loud unpleasant disturbances, including banging, beeping, drilling, yelling, and every other conceivable form of noise they could make. They have left equipment clanging, and loudly flapping against the home because it was improperly secured, overnight and over holiday weekends. I sense if they knew what they were doing this would have been over a year ago. I've had builder friends look at the job and they tell me the work appears to be amateurish and substandard. This morning after three years of this upheaval in my life and this torture, - with a workforce that looks like there are 15 trucks and 30 or more people walking around, it sounded like a loud musical convention of Mexican music, loud, no consideration for the neighbors, during the heart of the summer, who have already been annoyed plenty and non-stop from the building of this one house. Its like the builder is learning how to build a home, as he goes along, at the expense of our lifestyles and peaceful habitation of our own homes. I finally open the window and have to yell above the loud music and other chaos to get someone's attention, I finally do, I ask what's with the the music, which at this point I'd been listening to for an hour plus. "You like it" he asks me sarcastically, I say do you really need to add more noise to the three years we're already listening to, and his answer is "we sure do" thinking he is somehow cute. I'd like to have his home address and hire guys to come walk around with leaf blowers, boomboxes and bullhorns there for 12 hours a day and more, seven days a week, for the next 3 years straight. Funny thing is the house still looks like its nowhere near finished, could be another year or two at the rate they are going. So, if you want to wait forever for your home, and you don't care how aggravated and disgusted your neighbors are when you finally move in, make sure to use SLM Builders. Also, posting his billboard signs all over the project really adds an element of class to a neighborhood and on a block where homes are well kept and expensive. It gives it that Times Square chaotic vibe. In summary, stay away from this company that seems to have little idea what they are doing, takes too long to do it, and completely disrespects and disregards the rules and your neighbors along the way, - unless that is the experience you are looking for.

i have two words for RKD - UNRELIABLE and UNPROFESSIONAL. after the initial walk-through i was told…read morei'd be given a call within a 2 -3 week period with a 3 hour window for the work to be done the following day, but that call never came. when i called back to complain the day after the 3rd week had passed i got a call back that evening - where the person who did the walk though apologized and told me somehow my work order had gotten "lost". he then said it was too late in the week to do the work that week (it was a wednesday evening) but would have it done the following week. but the following week came and went with no call all week long - until friday afternoon. seriously??? i was told the work would be done on saturday, and it finally was - nearly 5 weeks after having had the walk through. by that time i had missed the window for my landscaper to do planting i had planned, so that was a big disappointment. but besides that, being told that you'd get a call sometime over a 2 - 3 week window to do the work within a 3 hour window the following day is not exactly convenient or practical. you basically can't schedule or do anything in case that's going to be the day they're going to do the work, and then to not receive the call was frustrating to say the least. then on top of that, to be apologetically told it would be handled the following week - and then to again not be able to schedule or do anything all week - and then receive a call the afternoon of the last business day of the week - well, i found this insulting. this company displays a serious lack of reliability and professionalism, to say the least. the work (two stumps needed to be ground) was done adequately, but there was a lot of dirt strewn around my front door and left for me to clean up by the workmen. what a disappointing experience. i'm in a local facebook group where people rave about this company, but i've come to suspect the owner has friends pretending to be satisfied customers in order to falsely prop him up. sad that people like this get away with treating customers like dirt. my recommendation is to stay away from RKD - there are plenty of other tree services in the area that can do the job, be more responsive and reliable and show actual professionalism.
