Every time I visit, they make me feel warm, comfortable, and truly welcome. I previously had a very negative experience with the OB-GYN team at St. Jude Hospital. I understand that doctors see many different situations every day, but for many moms, especially first-time moms, everything feels new and overwhelming. Patients cannot be expected to have the same level of experience or emotional distance as medical professionals. Even when discussing difficult topics such as miscarriage, the doctors here explained that some situations can be medically common or normal, but they did so with genuine empathy and compassion. That made a huge difference. Instead of hearing cold or dismissive words like "we see this all the time," they acknowledged how emotional and personal the experience can be for patients. My friend referred me to see Dr. Han for a regular check up 18 years ago and I have been a patient of Dr. Han ever since then; staff are always very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Both Dr. Dana and Dr. Han took care of me during my first pregnancy. Dr. Dana is very friendly, empathetic, patient, and thorough; she really cares about her patients' health. Dr. Dana let me know what to expect at different stage of pregnancy, what kind of tests (OB panel, urine sample, glucose tolerance test, etc) would be performed and what these tests are used for; how to stay and eat healthy during pregnancy. I've learned a lot from her. Dr. Han is very sincere, friendly, professional, open, and responsive. He always has a sense of humor that ease my mind. Dr. Han always takes his time listening to my concerns and answering my questions in details and in-depth( research based). I'm usually amazed by the fact that even though he takes a lot of overnight calls and works unpredictable hours; he is still alert and in a good mood, happily seeing patients at the office. I had my c section done by Dr. Han at Whittier Hospital Medical Center; Dr. Han has a good and long termed relationship with his medical team (the anesthesiologist; registered nurses) to work with at the hospital; everyone knows what they have to prepare for Dr. Han before he enters the operatory room ( because Dr. Han is very specific at what he needs to get the job done right; efficient/proficient at what he does); Dr. Han took a very short time to perform the c section. He is also very detailed oriented when it comes to cosmetics (he spent longer time suturing and the cut healed up super nicely). I could begin walking the next day with low dosage of pain med (smooth recovery overall)! My husband and I really appreciate the fact that Dr. Han came to our postpartum room to check on both my baby and I everyday during our stay at the hospital(even on his day off or after work). Not professional at all. Other than professionalism, even the service is bad. The receptionist lady who wears glasses with long hair is very rude. Their business is still busy because client is just from China and they come here without knowing the truth, for sure those people never use yelp, they go back China after delivering baby. I've been going to this doctor for quite some time. I'm not rating him the one star, I'm rating his staff the one star. His staff is very rude. Just today, I've made multiple attempts to contact them. The first time I called, I was told to call back in 20 minutes because their system was down. The second time I called, I was asked to call back again, since they were out to lunch. The third time I called, I wasn't asked if it was okay if I could be placed on hold. Instead, I was just placed on hold. The phone hung up on me right after that. I called back and told them they had hung up on me. The lady insisted she merely "put me on hold". She then went on to put me on hold. The phone hung up on me again. The fifth time around, she finally decided to help me. How hard was it for someone to ask to take down my information and call me back? I like the woman gyno. She is much more friendly. This one time I went, no one told me the woman gyno wasn't in and the male gyno walked in ready to give me a pap. I refused and he was like "Oh come on." Then he continued to say that his feelings were hurt. Err, that sounds a little on the perverted side. The front desk receptionist then gave me a pap. I was referred by my coworkers to have my first baby delivered by Dr. Han. I was glad I did. Dr. Han is extremely professional and nice. He explained during each check up and ultrasound on my baby's growth progress and answered all my questions and concerns. I was planning for a natural delivery but had to do C section at the end. I came here a few times for annual exam. The doctors are nice and know what they are doing but the staffs are so rude. They prioritize Chinese pregnant women (I'm Chinese myself but not pregnant for that matter) and they always make me wait for at least two hours. Also, they charged my insurance for services that I didn't receive, ie: ultra sound and venipuncture. I'm waiting at the office now trying to talk to their insurance manager but I've been here for an hour already and the "manager" still hasn't shown up. I've gone to Dr. Han several times before I switched to a new insurance provider. I first went to him over a very stressful period. I was recommended by my primary care doctor and after waiting a while (since I didn't have an appointment) I met Dr. Han. He was quite informative, his machine looks up-to-date and his staff is friendly. I like the younger receptionist since she speaks the best English out of all of them. Unfortunately, health insurance is too complicated so I'm not sure if he's accepting new patients or if he even accepts insurance. Call to find out. read more

Very friendly doctor - though the main office lady (older asian one) wasn't very friendly. Even though he is always jam-booked up the wazoo he'll take the time to ask if you have any questions after the exam and take the time to explain to you. I did NOT feel rushed at all. Which will explain the long wait. But if you consider the fact that he is taking 10 minutes explaining things to patients - I think I'd return to Dr. Han and wait for the good attention he gives his patients. Both of my children were delivered by Doctor Han. All staff in his clinic are professional and patient. In the past, it was always difficult to find my blood vessel in other laboratories. The nurses work in Dr.Han's clinic were able to be succeed super fast every time. Dr. Han made childbirth to be a an easy and pleasant thing. My other friends had a hard time during giving birth, but I had a very relaxed delivery. Dr. Han is very important in Whittier Hospital, so his patients do not need to wait until the amniotic fluid breaks or bleeds before being allowed to be hospitalized. As long as Dr. Han thinks that you are ready for delivery, you can go to the hospital directly without worrying about the amniotic fluid ruptures or bleeds at home. Especially when the delivery time is coming, it's scary for pregnant women. Unless your case is emergency, everything can be done step by step based on Dr. Han's plan. I was hospitalized directly by Dr. Han without any blood and breaking amniotic because my children were too big to wait until 40 weeks (39 weeks and couple days). After going to the hospital, i was given oxytocin. When I felt contractions, so I was taken epidural injection, then I slept until I was told to push by the nurse. The first child took 30 minutes, and the second one was born in 20 minutes. I basically never felt the pain of giving birth. Since the delivery of the first child went smoothly, I had the courage to continue having the second baby. More importantly, whether you have a normal delivery or cesarean, Dr. Han's suture technique is top-notch, and I can't feel the scar at all. He always says that the beauty of mother is really important. If you want to have a baby easily, happily and without pain, Dr. Han is the best choice. read more

STAY AWAY. My wife and I are having our first baby and came here based on a referral. I totally regret stepping foot in this place. The whole office is messy and dirty. Rooms are dusty and covered in cobwebs. Power cords all over the place [potential tripping hazard]. Hallways are cluttered with barely any room to walk by. The bathroom floor was always wet. You'd think that in a place that services pregnant women, eliminating tripping hazards and providing a clear pathway would be one of their priorities. The nurses and receptionists are rude, unprofessional and get our patient files mixed up. We always come early and never get seen at out appointment time. This last visit, we were seen one and a half hours after our scheduled appointment time. They forget important procedures. Dr. Han is friendly, but he never tells you anything unless you specifically ask. They don't provide any literature in English because most of their patients are from China and don't speak English. I would not recommend this place to anybody, not even my worst enemy...I given them many chances to improve by pointing out the issues but no improvements have been made. I will be asking for a partial refund and switching to another OBGYN. read more

One of the best doctors I have ever had. He has great bedside manners and he is also skillful. I admire his preparedness and ability to give me a lot of current or relevant information as he is performing the examination. He is extremely caring, extremely thorough, easy to talk too, and explains everything in a manner that I can understand. I have never trusted a doctor more than I trust Dr. Han. I just recently gave birth to my first baby, the whole delivery process had been very smooth. He has been a wonderful OB throughout the prenatal visits and labor and delivery. The office staff's are very friendly and knowledgeable. They help me answer a lot of questions. I went to this office a couple of times. The doctor explained in an easy approach, so I knew what was happened on me. The nurses were busy but had good skill. The lady manager is very nice. She helped me on my insurance problem and gave me the last appointment of the day so I had plenty of time for settling down my kids. didn't even see Dr. Han, but instead a female doctor. She does listen and spend time with us, so she is fine, but the WORST part is their nurses! Especially the Chinese with long hair sitting on the receptionist desk! She is playing on her phone all the time while we were there, and gave us really bad attitude. Most importantly, she misread the doctor's note! She gave me a wrong medication!!! Luckily we remember what the doctor said, so we asked the nurse. She looked at the note again, and said: "oh. yeah, it's this one." Then she wanted us to pay the correct medication without deducting the incorrect medication that she gave us. Overall very bad attitude, and not treating your carefully. Think about it, you are having a baby. What if the wrong medication she gave is bad for your baby? What kind of medication was it?
