To anyone needing justice against a current or former employer PLEASE BE AWARE not to engage Abramson Labor Group in Burbank who offers to support on a contingent basis (ie; if you get a fair settlement they take 15% on worker's comp claims and 50% on wrongful terminations (discrimination etc) or if you don't get a fair settlement and have to take the defendant to court to get justice, if you don't win then you'd have to pay for their services). Well, I am here to tell you that after a year and a half of intake and supporting them with all the information and documentation they needed to get a fair settlement and constantly having to call them and push them to do ANYTHING to move my case forward timely on my wrongful termination case which is a slam dunk (as former employer offered me an annual salary full time position only to force me to punch a time clock and then often not allowing me access to the office to compete an 8 hour day 5 days a week. Additionally, my former employer also started forcing me take time off and advising I would still be paid but then I learned later paid me by advancing me vacation time that would normally accrue slower over time and forcing me to use that). This supposed labor law firm who touts getting justice for their clients REEKS of only working minimally to secure the 15% WC and 50% WrTm of fair settlements that can be achieved with little or no effort but when defendants avoid and put off endlessly hoping will go away, when it came to litigating due to a ridiculous offer of $500 for my wrongful termination case they generated a demand letter of over $200K based on my annual salary and egregious and law breaking behavior, when it came to my decision to finally take them to court, Abramson Law Group advised they did not want to litigate?! I have been trying now for several months to simply get an explanation as to why they not want to litigate and including driving up to their office and explaining everything to Anna H. the receptionist and that I at least deserve to understand why after all they had put me through they not want to litigate? I could not get after many messages to Zev Abramson, the owner of this incompetent law firm to call me or meet with me and now they have turned off my ability to email them so no choice but to start all over as couldn't provide me a referral to a competent labor law firm either! When I called week before last and asked to be transferred to Anna at the front desk (after having left a message a day or two before that which was not returned timely) as I had just 2 weeks before, their customer support rep lied to me and advised she couldn't transfer me to Anna after I had been transferred and spoke to Anna just 2 weeks before. The rep then also tried to advise me (after explaining for the umpteenth time what I still needed/hoping for) that their firm has criteria that has to be met to proceed with litigation. When I asked her, what criteria was not met, she advised "we don't have that" which is another line of bs/blatant lie. Their firm has criteria but they don't know or won't tell me which wasn't met with regards to my case? They assigned a jr lawyer Melissa who initially advised me that the defendant's lawyer had advised her he was not authorized to speak to her on his clients behalf. When she told me this, I told her, go back and ask him who is authorized as we are not going away without a reasonable settlement amount! While I did win a fair worker's comp claim settlement, after the settlement was offered, the defendant's insurer forgot to send the paperwork so my check could be processed, I was advised that rather than just reaching out to the defendant's workers comp insurer to remind they hadn't sent the papaerwork, instead they set up a hearing for 3 months out. While my colleague received his check promptly, I had to wait another 3 months to a few days before the hearing the defendants workers comp clain insurer realized hadn't sent the paperwork and so then did and the hearing was cancelled but I then waiting another month and a half more to finally receive my check on that. The fact that Zev Abramson would not simply return my many calls and messages nor agree to meet with me let alone review my case and simply advise why they not want to litigate, nor could provide me with a referral to a competent labor law firm so I could proceed with forcing a fair outcome on this, he's a scumbag with no integrity who was happy to get his 15% of my workers comp claim and sit in his glass house and not willing to provide reasonable closure for me on this. So, don't waste your time with Abramson Labor Group in Burbank as I'm confident you will regret it as I now do when I had hoped for a fair and reasonable outcome on my wrongful termination case, which I not only did not get, I couldn't even get an explanation as to why they decided not to litigate after putting me through hell and back with their incompetency. I am extremely disappointed with the services provided by Abramson Labor Group, specifically by attorney Zev Abramson. My experience with this firm has been nothing short of frustrating and disheartening. I engaged Abramson Labor Group to represent me in a retaliation and discrimination case against Labcorp. Despite the severity of my claims, including a recent wrongful termination, I experienced significant issues with communication from the firm. Here are some of the key issues I faced: Neglect: The firm showed a complete lack of diligence in handling my case. Important updates were not communicated to me in a timely manner, and there was a clear lack of proactive effort in managing my legal needs. To put it bluntly, their customer service was extremely poor, making it almost impossible to get in touch with someone or speak to my attorney. I regret having to write this review, but based on my personal experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend Abramson Labor Group. I approached the firm regarding discrimination I experienced while serving as a member and employee of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Pacheco Lodge No. 117, in Concord. The firm initially accepted my case and prepared a lengthy demand letter seeking approximately $65,000. As I recall, the proposed resolution would have left me with only about $30,000--an amount I believed was inadequate considering what I and other LGBT members had endured. Several weeks later, I discovered that the demand letter had apparently been sent to the wrong recipients. In my experience, the firm did not meaningfully follow up or take further action, and I saw little progress being made on my behalf. I eventually retained different counsel who immediately filed my claims with the court and actively pursued the matter. The ultimate recovery was considerably greater than the amount contemplated in Abramson Labor Group's original demand, and I will always be grateful to my subsequent counsel for the diligence and commitment they demonstrated. The controversy ultimately extended well beyond my individual case. Other individuals came forward with accounts of discrimination within their own lodges. I also later learned of serious financial allegations involving the organization, including reports of more than $4 million in allegedly misappropriated funds and related legal claims against certain members. My experience left me with the impression that Abramson Labor Group placed greater emphasis on writing a demand letter than on actively pursuing litigation. I can speak only to my own case, but I did not feel that my claims were handled with the urgency, diligence, or determination they deserved. They have 4 frivoulous lawsuits against our small family business with people who claim to have been our employees, but were NOT. The alleged workers comp injuries took place 500 miles from our business. We have tried notifying them over a dozen times via mail, email, and phone calls. They do not respond--not even for a request to get their mailing address as the certified mail we have sent them has not been picked up. Finally, after we have sent signed affidavits that the people were NEVER EMPLOYED by us, they have found a different employer to replace us with in ONE of the lawsuits (instead of all 4). They have put us through he** these last 6 weeks suing for over $1.3K in just one case. They won't talk to me by phone because they will only talk to my "lawyer" (which I don't have; I don't think I should have to pay to hire a lawyer to defend cases that don't belong to us!) They are intentionally ghosting us, perhaps hoping we will not comply with their demands so they can get judgments against us that way as there are NO MERITS to these cases. They say we didn't meet their deadline for sending paperwork that we obviously don't have as these people were not employees. ALG should have done DUE DILLIGENCE to see if we were the employers BEFORE going after us. We have reached out multiple times to let them know they have the wrong company, yet they continue to wrongfully pursue us including $50 K for stress. What about the stress they are causing us?! I truthfully cannot recommend this law firm if you're pursuing an employment case or dealing with any serious legal matter. The communication has been absolutely horrible. Before I retained them, they called and followed up constantly to get me to sign with the firm. But once I became a client, the communication completely changed. I rarely hear from anyone, and when I do, I've spoken with multiple different attorneys who have told me they are "in charge" of my case. The case manager has also been extremely unhelpful. He often doesn't seem to have any information about my case, and I'm left more confused after our conversations than I was before. I genuinely do not understand what is happening with my case or what the next steps are. At this point, I feel like I've wasted a significant amount of time. I've also done my own research on the firm, and it appears they have a lot of newer attorneys who come and go, with cases seemingly being passed around and attorneys constantly rotating. When you're dealing with something as important as an employment case, communication, consistency, transparency, and having an attorney who actually knows your case are extremely important. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience with this firm. The Lawyers were quick to gather up info from my end and input it all together to best fit my needs. They quoted me a dollar amount of the worth of my case and came fairly close to what was said. In all honesty most cases of this sort take time to negotiate so I was prepared to wait 8-12 months as I had already done my research of these types cases. This Law firm is a joke! They tell you they are working on your case while they have not even contacted your defendant. They were manipulating me by saying that the defendant is not responsive although they were not even calling them. They just sit on your case until either you give up or the deadlines are passed and you can't even file your case else where. This way it guarantees them that your case will be stuck with them and they make money out of you when you don't even dream of. They sold my information and evidences that I shared with them to the defendant and made money without me knowing what they were doing. They are a trap, they write a high number on the demand letter and at the end they force you to take the penny. I am about to report them to the CA state bar and revoke the attorney's license. They held on to the settlement check even though I called them knowing it was in their possession and when I finally got it , they apparently stamped it for deposit only into their account and they waited until 2 weeks into the new year to get it to me yet I have received w-2s for the amount and taxed on the money for 2019 although it was sent to me in 2020. They also email you asking for a review and they will credit you $100 but turns out that was a lie. Would not recommend them. From what I've experienced,they show little professionalism and I'm going to have another attorney look over the way my situation was handled from beginning to end and then after it was done including the unfulfilled promises.
