1-star review My experience with JLG Lawyers was very unusual and ultimately left me uncomfortable with the firm's intake process. The firm's communication felt very abrupt and, at times, unnecessarily pressuring. I received multiple follow-up calls after submitting an inquiry, and the calls appeared to come from a very loud, call-center-like environment. The tone of several of my interactions with intake staff also felt heightened, which made it difficult to have a calm and thoughtful conversation about something as consequential as legal representation. I was quickly moved through an intake process and then told the firm wanted to represent me. However, that determination came with very little information about what the representation would actually include. I was asked not to sign my severance agreement while I considered representation, so naturally I wanted to understand the scope of services before making that decision. When I asked for clarification about the scope, I was told that the firm would not provide that information until I agreed to representation. I also asked whether certain issues related to my severance agreement would be included, but I wasn't able to get a clear answer. That put me in a difficult position: I was being asked to make an important decision while feeling that I didn't have enough information to make it thoughtfully. I followed up several times because I genuinely wanted to understand what I was being offered. I even offered to pay for an initial consultation if that was the appropriate way to have a more substantive conversation. Ultimately, after I continued raising these concerns, the firm rescinded its offer of representation and closed my prospective-client file. The overall process felt rushed, reactive, and unnecessarily complicated. My concern isn't that the firm ultimately decided not to represent me -- that's their decision. My concern is that the intake process itself created pressure while providing limited information, and when I raised concerns about that process, the response was to withdraw the offer of representation. I don't know whether the firm's leadership is aware of how the intake process is experienced by prospective clients, but I would encourage them to look closely at it. There may be a meaningful gap between what the firm intends the intake experience to be and what prospective clients actually experience. I'm sharing this review to document my experience and to give prospective clients additional information about what my interaction with the firm was like. read more

WARNING WARNING WARNING PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE HIRING THIS LAW FIRM! This is a honest review based on my experience retaining this law firm for help. During my initial intake girl who was helping me with process stopped me to put the phone down/hold. So she thought! I could actually hear here conversation with another coworker saying these people are Crazy, I should have never taken this phone call? When she got back on the phone I questioned what she said and also told her that I could hear the conversation she had and I did not appreciate what was said. She immediately began making excuses for her behavior and apologized. I spoke to her manager Holly who confirmed with her what was said. Holly apologized for her behavior an I being an easy going person decided to let things go and seek their help and guidance. Forward to 4 weeks after case being accepted by firm I was having troubles with Valentina who was helping me put demand letter together for my employer and after 4-5 attempts she still could not get it right. I would try calling her and it was extremely difficult in getting a hold of her. She would say she was going to call me back and no calls ever received by her when she said she would call? I called in asking to speak with a supervisor or management and spoke to Clara one morning in which she immediately denied me speaking with someone even after telling her I was a client of firm. She hung up the phone on me and when I called back she answered again. I simply asked if she was the person who I had just spoken with because she did not state her name when answering and she replied by saying...oh what! You are going to try and flip this on me now and get me in trouble with my manager? I was shocked at her behavior and the way the situation was being handled. She passed the phone over to an attorney who was there and the attorney got very confrontational with me and began to try and scold me like a child over the situation. I immediately asked to speak with head manager or attorney in charge who I was told was just a Mike? He owns the firm but also leads as head attorney. They refused to let me speak with him and said this has to be escalated to management first before trying to get him involved? Why are his clients not able to easily escalated a situation not being handled correctly by his staff and speak with him directly? I was told I would be called back by Asmundo who is my next point of contact not Mike! While I waited for his call attorney working with me Beth called me and immediately began getting very confrontational scolding me and siding with Clara and her unprofessional behavior. I challenged her to listen to phone call as most companies record calls now and she answered by saying we don't do that but still kept siding with Clara? Why would I challenge her to do that not knowing if they are recorded if I knew I was in the wrong? I told her to stop scolding me and have Mike or Manager call me beacuse I was not getting anywhere with her at this point she said I am going to have to speak with Mike directly about your representation? What? I get a phone call later that day by lead manager and he did not even hear me out! He sided with Clara and Beth and told me they were not longer intrested in repressing me! That I was not able to speak with Mike lead attorney owner of firm? I mentioned how unprofessional this experience has been and told him I would write a review based on my experience as a client and how I have been treated by this firm and staff. He then replied by saying go ahead! We sue people for defamation and threatened to sue me! Is this the kind of people you want representing your case? This lawfirm is very unprofessional and the minute you call them out on it they will through you out to the street. I received no formal letter or notice after he hung up on me?
