This is me at Banner Emergency room off the 101 and Thomas, I walked into the abrazo buckeye emergency room with blood dripping down my face and telling both the person doing my vitals and the front desk worker that I had gotten hit in the face and the back of the head in a car accident, I made them aware I had lost consciousness in the past hour and thrown up. Desk worker absolutely clueless and rude, the male nurse doing my vitals could not give less of a shit as I'm wiping the blood from my face and obviously disoriented and in shock. This "hospital" is full of overgrown mean girls from high school and unqualified "nurses". Make the extra 20 minutes to the Banner Estrella Emergency room, it will save your life. The 20 minutes you'll spend driving there will take off the 40 you'll spend in the waiting room bleeding out. read more

We were there for 2.5 hours before seeing a doctor. We were there another 2.5 hours waiting for X-ray and ultrasound results. We got yelled at by a nurse in the waiting room because someone had asked how long the wait time was. If you go here prepare to be there for at least 4 hours and probably longer and expect to be treated like shit as well. read more

As an American with Autism in 2025, I cannot believe how I was treated by the staff during the 3+ hours I sat stimming, alone in a freezing room. This was more than just unprofessional. This AWFUL care an the EXPENSE of someone suffering with ASD that just needed help. From the start, the staff at Abrazo West provided an unfriendly environment for someone arriving ALONE with Asperger's and severe pain. They took advantage of my weak position, treated me to awful care, no diagnosis, no treatment. Lots of excuses. High pressure billing right in the room. This was a money grab from the moment I walked in to place. Now, I'm being hounded to pay a half dozen bills for NOTHING. The "patient advocate" "Sue" promised to be there as the bills poured in, she seemed sincere at the time, "empathizing" with my situation, promising she would be an advocate during calls with the hospital billing. (which turned out to be high pressure with that collections feel) By the end of the first call with their billing dept, the representative pushed me so hard to PAY that I started seizing on the call and melted down privately for over an hour after. And.... NO help from the advocate. She just ignores phone messages, no calls back. Just another corporate liar there to shut a person like me up. I wish people had a little more understanding of how this type of high pressure entrapment can destroy someone living alone with Autism. Might as well be the medical mafia. read more

Absolutely the worst ER my Dad arrived after suffering a massive heart attack 6 weeks ago with extremely high blood pressure. He has now been sitting in the "ER" for 21 hours waiting for a bed at the actual hospital. No care or consideration at all . Pop music playing in the background loudly. I can over hear everything and they could care less about HIPPA I am listening to the ER doctor talk crappy about a trans individual he treated. Hard to say I wouldn't recommend them seeing that the next nearest emergency room is 20 minutes away... but...2 separate visits for the family and to call this an emergency room is a joke! Absolutely zero urgency on their part. First visit was with a deep laceration to my wrist with active heavy bleeding and they were more concerned about getting the paperwork filled out than they were in getting the bleeding under control. Next visit was for my son that was rushed in as he had a fever of 105.3 degrees and was delirious. Same lack of urgency. There were about 4 other people there at 11:30pm and they didn't take him back to be see until 3am. Really seems like their staff isn't happy to be there. The care I received here was horrible. The doctors bedside manner was awful. He was rude and unkind. Dr. Depoy is one of the worst doctors. My nurse was rude too, she never introduced herself and made sure to have her badge turned around so I couldn't see her name. Short, curly hair, Latino woman that works at night time. They wanted to send me to a different hospital and never explained why. They just said "to run more tests." And never specified what tests. $8,626.00 bill for two hours they did a flu and Covid test and blood tests. They knocked the bill down to $2,053 for my insurance but there were charges on the bill that were not done. By the way they diagnosed as pneumonia but was later tested to be Covid. read more

The wait time is ridiculous. There is no communication. We waited for over 3 hours to be called back. Not to mention 5 ill individuals left prior to being seen because they had waited for over 3 hours. Excuse was there are no beds. Finally, make it to the back (plenty of beds-sure leave some open for Emergency calls). The nurse NEVER came to check on the patient. Finally after 45 minutes I inquire if the intent is to wait for the doctor or what are we waiting for? Response was: "Dr. sees patients with more serious illnesses first". Horrible practice here. Very shady. I went in very sick last year and ended up having Covid. Cool no problem. Got the bill paid the bill. Couple weeks later I receive ANOTHER bill of a different amount. Albeit less than what I initially paid, I wasn't willing to pay more when I already paid the bill. Kept harassing me to pay, I called the billing department and they had no idea what I was talking about and said that it must be from the radiology. Why would radiology send me a separate bill when it's all in the same hospital? It seems like they have no idea what they're doing and can't organize their bills all in one. Got sent to debt collection and harassed by them too. Finally just gave in because I wasn't about to deal with all the trouble over 20 dollars . Clearly they need the 20 more than I do and no wonder. By the way don't expect any privacy, it's basically a military camp in there. All the "rooms" are just curtains separating you from the next. I heard all about everyone else's problems. I cannot stress how terrible this emergency department is. My three year old son and I had the misfortune of getting seen and partially treated here. My son was taken to the emergency department to be seen for overall body and stomach aches. I was not told that he had a fever when he was initially evaluated. They preformed a CT scan and sent him back to a small room, in that room they failed to draw blood after attempting to more than 3 times. After that ordeal, my son showed signs of a seizure. His doctor came in and I immediately asked for her help, she disregarded my concerns. He had a seizure and was treated, given an io and eventually transported to phoenix children's hospital. I cannot in good conscience ever recommend this hospital, although I will mention that there were a few incredible nurses that helped my son. read more

I felt dizzy and weak so I went to this emergency clinic After blood work and an X-ray and some ultrasounds l found out my hemoglobin was only at a 4 not a 14 so they ordered transfusions. If I could give this a 0 I would. There is a FEW amazing nurses but other then that TRASH. Especially Dr Joseph Choi, might as well medicate yourself. Spent an hour at the 45 minute to get a UA back. The Dr did absolutely jack sh**, looked like he rolled out of bed, talked to me 30 seconds , cut me off and walked out. Mary the charge nurse was ok, but then started defending the "Dr", mind you; my registration was longer than my visit. So before you go looking for a death sentence, make sure Choi is in a different continent as far away as your care and that Mary actually listens to your concerns without eventually excusing the dr. She told me she could give me the email to report him and all of a sudden would only give me "patient advocate" number. Second horrible experience, first time I got turned away and ended up in the ICU for 5 days. So unfortunate the bad seeds ruin it for everyone. More than 60% of the staff working there clearly hate their job. Maybe working flipping burgers or cleaning out sewage tanks is a better fit for Choi and some of these "charge nurses" which I'm sure are put there since they seem to be the best choice out of the other Terrible staff. I was seen last night with COVID symptoms again. I get very sick because I have a rare disease called adrenal insufficiency. I was going into adrenal failure and needed cortisol in my iv. I was dehydrated with serious diarrhea. I was in severe stomach pain and needed a GiI cocktail it's not alcohol it's medication to stop the stomach pain. Two hours and they started no IV and no med for pain or for my stomach. They let me moan and groan for two hours and did nothing for me.!I can die from my illness. The stress of the pain could have killed me. My body can not handle the stress of pain. I had to leave because they didn't care. The doctor never came in and I was given nothing. There excuse was they are too busy so they have to let someone DIE. They don't care. I will never go there again and if you are really sick don't go there you could die at there watch.They knew nothing about my illness They did not even know what a GI cocktail is. They should have googled it and my illness before I suffered for two hours. read more

We had to bring our mom to the ER 800 am 4/25 I put the time and date so they can see staff for that day cause I'm horrible with names. Walking in it's like they saw urgency in our faces , the lady doing security was truly helpful it all started with her and after that nurses the NP fell in lead. My first time at this location, I was needing to get stitches in my foot as I had cut my foot open. The staff was so friendly, the ER was quicker than it normally is anywhere else. Everyone just seemed to be personable and knows what they're doing. I came again to have my stitches removed and again, such a pleasant staff. Amazing PAs and nurses. I see all the reviews below and right now currently this hospital has 2.5 Stars so apparently our reviews don't give a crap to the people who own the hospital because the service has not improved!! I took my seventeen-year-old daughter there last night may 13 2022 at approx 830 PM, she had severe stomach cramping, so much so that several times she was doubled over in pain. We arrived and there was NO ONE in the waiting room. I was thinking wow, we caught a break. That turned out to be the most incorrect thought I had. We signed in and about 30 minutes later while my daughter cried in agony, NOTHING. So i asked the rude receptionist (who clearly didnt give a rats butt) how much longer? I pointed out that there is no one in the waiting room. Her answer was i dont know, the look on her face was i dont care either. So then i asked if she could give me an approximate, her answer, nope. So we sat there more time and finally got called back. The person up front took her vitals and i stood there watching the Dr and nurse staff just standing/sitting around gabbing about nothing with laughter. I videotaped it so hopefully im able to add it to this review. We were then taken to the room basically dropped off and then nothing for at least maybe another half hour and the doctor came in said he was going to order an IV to be put in her and some pain medicine... so I thought okay good, then another 45 to 50 minutes went by and then my daughter started throwing up terribly awful and ONLY then they came in and put an IV in her and gave her something to stop her from throwing up which by the way didnt work because she threw up again about 15 minutes later. meanwhile they said they couldn't give her anything for the pain at that point because she had started throwing up which I thought was ironic because if they had given something to her for the pain earlier she might not have thrown up. After putting in the IV, i would say another 30 minutes went by and they drew blood. So i asked again about when the pain meds would be administered. It was about 40 minutes since the last time she threwup. And ONLY THEN AFTER REPEATEDLY ASKING for her to be given something for the pain and either being told soon or she might throw it up, NOW they said they had to wait for the results of the blood work before giving her pain med. I tried being nice, i tried getting angry, nothing worked, they took their sweet time. After what seemed like hours, my daughter was FINALLY given something for the pain. They did a cat scan on her, and after being there for 6 hours all they could tell me was her stomach was inflamed, no reason why, nothing and they call themselves Drs. I had to go to Urgent care awhile back in Buckeye, and not only was the receptionist nice, they worked on the patients and acted like they cared. Its too bad they were closed or i would have gone there. I would suggest anybody that can, go to alliance urgent care first. And by the way, the couch chair that they have in the rooms are the MOST UNCOMFORTABLE that i have sat in any hospital. Abrazo the hospital/Emergency room is a joke. If you want to be quoted $500 for a Rabies vaccine and end up being charged $5k to sit in a waiting room for 5-6 hours ( was the first one to be up next), to be brought back to a separate waiting room (because they still didn't have a open room after 6 hours) to get the vaccine in a dark corner with lights off to be shoved out the door 5 minutes later. I disputed it but nothing came of it because my medical records said I was "well taking care of". My itemized list literally states Emergency Room: $2500 (when I was in a waiting room the whole time). Pharmacy: $2500 (when I paid less that 1k for all three vaccines back in 2017 for school) The dispute team said the $500 quote was just an estimate does not always mean I was going to get it for that price. I'm sorry, but if I quoted my client/patient $500 and charged them 10x the price they would be livid! I was told I can file a dispute on my medical records if I wanted to but when I called the number they provided . They had no clue what I was talking about and when I talked to the supervisor I got hung up on. My dads ER visit to Diginty Health (would have gone there if I knew the estimate was not correct). He had a ct scan, radiographs, ultrasound, morphine, fluids, ACTUALLY had a ROOM it total he was charged was $7k which is more reasonable then my bill with ABRAZO. Just saying. read more

BIGGEST RIP-OFF EVER! A few months ago I cut my finger with a kitchen knife and the next day it was still bleeding. The Abrazo West Campus is right around the corner from my house and, since I had just moved to the area and did not have a family doctor yet, I decided to go there to see if I needed stitches. I explained all of this when I checked in, including the fact that I knew this wasn't a real emergency, but we were headed out for a camping trip and I was worried about possible infection to the finger. I guess I expected triage before being admitted, but that didn't happen.. The doctor looked at my finger, ran it under cold water in the sink for a few minutes, put on a steri-strip & band-aid and sent me away. I have been billed $1,700 for this service. With my insurance deductible I have had to pay close to $1,500. Over $900 for the emergency room and over $500 for the doctor's fee.....FOR A STERI-STRIP AND A BAND-AID!!!!! I contested the fees and, of course, they told me I had to pay. Avoid this place unless you are bleeding to death or having a heart attack. read more

Went in with a kidney stone. Waited about an hour before I told the receptionist that I really needed something for the pain. I ended up doubled over, lying on the waiting room floor. Still wasn't called back. After another 45 minutes, they gave me a bed. Told me to pee in a cup. They did nothing with that. They set it on a tray next to the bed, and there it sat for the entire time I was there. Hooked up IV with a lightweight pain med and rolled me in for a CT scan. The nurse who took the CT scan was super nice! I wish I remembered her name because she was the highlight of the ER visit. So... after a few hours of being in the bed, a Dr. came up and said, "Yeah you have a kidney stone and two more hanging out in your kidneys. One on either side." After all was said and done, I received a bill for $718. Apparently the grand total of the visit was about $17,000!! Insurance companies are getting ripped off! I paid my portion, and I did notice that there is an option to make monthly payments over a 6-month period. All in all, it was a crazy amount of money to pay to pee in a cup and for some liquid ibuprofen. read more

I was seen by a really caring team on Wednesday 08/17 for atrial fibrillation. Dr Depoy provided outstanding Own the Moment level care by keeping me updated on what the team was doing for my care. My RN Becky was AWESOME AND explained every aspect of my care I felt as though I was the only patient. Krush started my IV and I really don't remember her doing it which was great as she was excellent with the IV. I also want to send kudos to Evelyn, Sylvia, and Bernie as they were all part of this great experience. Worst service ever. I have chronic pain in my lower back and hips. This morning I had a procedure done to help with it. Four hours later I was in excruciating pain in my lower back, hips and legs. Hot flashes so bad I felt like passing out and nauseous. I arrived and was triaged was put directly in a room. Doctor was in within 5 minutes stated I need a mri and the needed to transfer me to Goodyear to have it done. I can hear all of them talking that it would be 9 o'clock roughly 4 hours from the time I checked in. Not once did they run labs, they did not address the pain. No one checked on me for over a hour when they came in to finally tell me the mri was 4 hours away I asked for a ice pack or washcloth to try and stop myself from overheating. Thirty minutes later I still didn't have it but there were 8 nurses sitting around talking about life instead of tending to their patients. This is very unprofessional and really hope they don't kill a patient due to neglect.. I will drive any amount of time in the opposite direction to never have to be subjected to the rude unprofessional lack of compassion that exists in the staff at this hospital. The doctor I saw here, Richard R. Warrington, was completely dismissive, arrogant and a bad listener. I saw this alleged healthcare provider in August 2017. He dismissed my issue, told me there was nothing he could do in an ER setting and advised me to see my family doctor. I wouldn't have gone to the ER at 4:30 on a Sunday morning if my issue was bearable and I thought it could wait. I spent a total of 3 minutes with this doctor. The exam room curtain wasn't even pulled! Signing in at the front desk took longer. Then the hospital billed me for more than $1,000 and Warrington's office for another $344. The kicker. The treatment I sought is EXACTLY what my family doc suggested on his own the very next day. To be clear... What "Doctor" Warrington said would be a waste of time is the very first thing a competent doctor ordered a day later. I ended up in 2 months of physical therapy for a shoulder injury this guy wouldn't even discuss that morning in the ER. Zero compassion... Completely indifferent. I feel scammed!
