After a bad experience at the waxing place I used to go to, I decided to try out Absolute Body Waxing & Spa after looking up waxing places in Winter Park. As soon as I walked into the location, I knew it was going to be a great experience. The ambiance is warm and friendly, and the receptionist was accommodating. Jennifer was awesome. She was super efficient (I was done in 20 minutes) for a Brazilian, and the entire time, she kept the conversation going, and I felt completely comfortable. I had such a great experience that I made my next appointment - something I never do. It's clear that this place hires trained and personable professionals, and I'm glad that I have found a new place.If you book your next appointment within 5 weeks of your last Brazilian, it's only $40 instead of the regular $50.00. Recently, I decided to take the plunge and get my eyebrows waxed. My experience in brows is what made me write my review. My brows were misshapen and bushy, and no aesthetician has been able to fix them - in fact they usually mess them up. I've waited over a year to get them waxed so that they could grow in, but since my sister's getting married in a few months, I figured it would be better to get them waxed now just in case something goes wrong. I have only visited twice to date, both times for a simple eyebrow waxing, but I must remark that I've been satisfied each time! I was helped by Anastasia the first time and with, I believe, Claudia this time around? Unfortunately, I forgot to ask her name, but I was perusing through other reviews and I think her picture matches with who helped me today. She was very kind and courteous, although she had been running behind schedule. There was a slight miscommunication between her and the hostess regarding my check-in for my one o'clock appointment -- she didn't know I had arrived, so I had waited until just shy of 1:30. I didn't mind too much because their waiting room is cozy and inviting; I helped myself to a chocolate chip cookie flavored k-cup. I was on a tad bit of a time crunch because I visited during my lunch break, but I hadn't said anything because my work is generally pretty lenient. However, she had insisted on only charging me half price for the service for waiting so patiently, which was very nice of her (six dollars instead of the usual twelve). She also signed off on my loyalty card for today's service, too, even though she had discounted it. :) (If you purchase six services from them, they give you 50% off your next service) The location itself is quite nice and professional. They have calming spa music playing in the background and each time I've gone, they've made sure to consult me on how I prefer my eyebrows before proceeding. I feel bad because toward the end I might have seemed a little abrupt as she finished, just because I needed to get back to my office, but I really did enjoy the results she gave me. I came in with fuzzy caterpillars resting on my face and she groomed them very nicely! She managed to get them pretty symmetrical, too, which is a problem I normally have since my eyebrows grow in a tad different than each other. The only thing I might want to caution, which is out of their control because they didn't design the space, but the consulting rooms for waxing are all directly facing the waiting room, so while I waited, I could hear another client's ongoing conversation and reactions to a Brazilian wax. I do highly recommend this spot though and have even started considering possibly getting a more extensive wax with them soon. :) read more

Let's be honest, getting waxed (especially in... Ehem... Sensitive areas) is not the most pleasant experience, but Claudia is the best, most professional, detail oriented, kind and friendly wax queen I've ever met. Her business is in a great location, is clean, cute, and sanitary. All of the front desk receptionists are helpful and friendly. This place was fantastic! I have gotten full brazilians here as well as eyebrow and underarm waxings. Claudia has performed my services and she does an amazing job. Quick, professional, and friendly, I was in and out of the salon faster, happier, and more pleased with the services I received then I have been in a while. I loved the hard wax used, less painful and messy than strips and removed more hair. I have to say I visited this place for my first Bikini wax based on their yelp reviews and their service is exactly what they say it is. Anastasia was beyond helpful. Being my first time, not knowing any better, I shaved myself a week before I decided to wax... I was kind of in the middle of an emergency.. I was participating on a Bikini contest 3 days from that particular day therefore I had to be waxed. Anastasia explained how she would do her best but she couldn't guarantee that it was all going to come off and that worse case scenario I had to pluck the remaining out. I was very afraid but went for it and she walked me so smoothly trough the process that next thing I knew everything was cleaned. I didn't have to pluck anything out. read more

While I still think Jennifer is an excellent waxer, I can no longer give this salon a glowing review. This time she used hard wax for the entire wax, and despite the hype around hard wax - that it is better for sensitive skin etc - I have had nothing but trouble with it. It's a much more painful procedure than soft wax, and it also creates a harder, painful stubble that I never experienced with soft wax. And I've been getting waxed for 10 years. It's even worse than shaving, to be honest. I HATE hard wax and from now on I will be asking salons if they use it before I make an appointment. read more

Have been looking for a place and finally found it! Made a last minute appointment. They fit me in after work which was wonderful!! Cute spot upstairs. They use the cold wax which is absolutely awesome. Had an eyebrow, lip and chin wax. It was so relaxing. Seriously. No pain. She shaped them beautifully and soothed with aloe after my treatment. BEWAREEEEE!!!!!!!!! Do NOT come here for any wax service!! I came here and will never return. They are NO SIGNS to even find this so called spa... This "spa" is NO SPA WHAT SO EVER! The floor is disgustingly sticky with wax. The wax pot is covered in crusty green old wax. I seen another wax pot hidden ON THE FLOOR underneath the table that was corroaded in yellow and green wax. The waxer cluada double dipped sticks while waxing which I know can cause infection because i have read it on wikipedia. The trashcans were full of trash. Trashcans have GERMS!! How can you wax people with trash full TO THE TOP.. Yet promote cleanliness? There is NO RESTROOM in the business.. There is a public one outside which was disgusting with Feces in the toilet and paper all over the flloor. It also was FREEZING inside while waxing and when i complained about it she stated she has no control over the air yet has a thermostat in the reception area. The receptionist is not polite. She was eating food when I entered the business. I dont even understand how they have passed inspection. It is about 200 sq feet no space to check out let alone to be eating while a customer is there.. The food smell took over the small unit. Run the other way!! This is NO type of professional / quiet/ relaxing SPA as stated. I will tell ALL my friends to RUN AWAY! read more

I hate to give a bad review because everyone who works here is so nice. Their customer service is really good and helpful. I got waxed here twice before deciding this wasn't the place for me. Claudia's waxing technique causes the Brazilian wax to be more painful than necessary. Both times I had leftover wax on me and had multiple ingrown hairs. This did not happen at the place I used to get waxed before moving to Florida. I did not feel that the wax was thorough either - a lot of hairs remained. But I think that the worst part of the wax involves these three products: baby wipes, cornstarch, and spritzed alcohol. I'm used to a lot higher quality products that leave me feeling smooth and soft. If you can overlook the use of these kinds of products, I can recommend this place. If you want a higher quality wax then I cannot recommend. read more

Admittedly, I chose this establishment based on the user reviews I found here on Yelp. I hadn't had a Brazilian wax done in several years and was skittish, as the last time I'd had it done, I was left bruised and swollen for many days afterwards. So, I was specifically looking for words in reviews that indicated the waxing was as pain free as possible with no horrific results reported. I called ahead to ask if it would be possible to book an appointment for the same day, and though no one answered, the voice mail message informed me that I could book an appointment online and provided the address for the website. I left a message for a call back, but then decided to see if I'd be able to book online with such short notice. Their online booking was very easy and within minutes, I got an email confirmation. Then Claudia called me, saying that she had seen I had booked online and wanted to confirm that the time worked for me. I showed up early for my appointment and Claudia was able to take me in right away, which was a pleasant surprise. As for the procedure itself, Claudia was amazing. She asked if I had ever used hard wax before (I had not,) and explained how it worked as she went. I kept expecting the stinging and burning, but it never happened. She worked quickly and efficiently. She clearly explained the pricing, and how often they run specials, etc. I was done amd on my way even before my scheduled appointment time. I was so satisfied with her work and reasonable price (I'd paid $80 for the last botched Brazilian; Claudia's work was more reasonably priced and expertly done,) I went ahead and scheduled my next appointment right then. This place is so awesome!!! I went there after getting a horrible eyebrow job where they chemically burned my eyelids! When I came they were so welcoming and kind and they let me try out the wax I wanted and it was completely painless! My eyebrows look gorgeous and it doesn't destroy your bank account! I LOVE Claudia and Absolute Body Waxing Studio. I've been a client of Claudia's for about two years (when she first talked me into getting a brazilian...she was right and now I'm addicted to the "clean" feel). I met her when she was working at Depi-Wax and I followed her to her own studio. Hygiene is VERY important to me since I am a "germ-a-phobe" and Claudia's shop, waxing area, and wax is immaculate. Also she's fast and doesn't use strips; she uses an aloe hard wax that is as painless as I have ever had (I can't say pain-free because anytime you are pulling hair from follicles it hurts). I rate Absolute Body Waxing Studio 5 stars and would ABSOLUTELY recommend it to everyone. P.S. All of my friends are clients too. read more
