I've been looking for a hair salon with a private room for a while, and didn't find any option in South Florida. Came across this randomly and was SO impressed with not only their accommodations for hijabis (a fully furnished private room with full sink, tools, etc) but also how kind the entire staff was! Anjelica washed my hair & Dina cut it, and they were both SO kind and sweet and talented. When the wait between wash/cut was a bit extended, Anjelica offered tea/coffee in between. They also recommended a place I can donate hair too. The cut was super cute and overall I left feeling very satisfied and happy. This is a fantastic salon -- from their diversity to accommodating, kind staff to skilled services to very reasonable prices. I booked my appointment with Tural and received a balayage, haircut and style. He has excellent attention to detail and ensures the color is right without damaging my hair. Tural is impressive and he nails it every time! Not only is he incredibly knowledgeable and professional, but he genuinely cares for his clients. Tural always listens to my needs/wants during the consultation and gives me guidance on the route to take for it. He knows exactly what I want each time without further explanation. Another feedback I'd say is he is very personable, so we have a good chat, but he also can recognize when I'm exhausted and need silence. I initially wanted a 90's blow out but when i told Dina that i needed the style to last she suggested waves instead because of my curly hair. i appreciated the tip cause those waves lasted all night! I just had a bad experience with Tural today. He doesn't know how to treat customers with respect and care. I would not have left this review if I were only unsatisfied with the cut and style. I am leaving this review because of how he rudely spoke to me. After reading some reviews on yelp, I'm shocked to find out he is one of the salon owners. I went to him to cut some bangs in a new human hair wig I have. The wig came with a center parting so he had to redirect the hair to cut the bangs. Unfortunately, he put in very meager efforts to redirect the hair and acted like it was not possible to stop my bangs from splitting in two down the center. I could tell he was barely trying and did not seem to care much about the final look. All he tried was using the blow dryer on the dry hair, which obviously is not going to work well. I could tell he had an attitude with me so rather than try to tell him how to do his job, I just went home and fixed it myself. All I had to do was dampen the hair in the center of my bangs where it was splitting and then use my curling iron to press down the hair to retrain the hair to go downwards to the middle. It took me less than 5 minutes and it was perfectly redirected and no longer splitting. The WORST part is that he had an attitude and did not even try to hide his irritation with me when I asked him to do something. I had asked him if he could try to flatten my wig hair a bit since it is new out-of-the-box so it's a bit puffy on top (people with wigs know what I mean). But when I asked, he acted like I made an impossible request and sarcastically said "you're amazing" as if to say "you're something else" or "you're a pain in the a**." I did not do anything to deserve that kind of treatment from him. Further, I had made an appointment for a wig cut but their private room for wigs was not available when I arrived. I waited at least twenty minutes and the room still wasn't available so I ended up just putting on my wig in the restroom and getting my wig cut in the main public salon area. The point of making an appointment is so that I can have the stylist and private room ready for me because I'm already feeling vulnerable about my wig. I came to this salon because I thought they had a lot of experience with wigs but it definitely did not feel that way. Considering this isn't just any old cheap hair salon and it's in the park ave area, I expected a certain level of skill and customer service. Instead, I did not leave feeling good about the way my bangs looked and I felt very disrespected. I do not want to return now because I would not want to ever be treated that way again. I already know the owner doesn't seem to care about that since he has previously responded to other reviews boasting about how many clients the salon already has. I am going to attach two photos. The first is of me as soon as I got home with my bangs splitting down the middle. The second is after I put in less than 5 minutes of effort at home to fix the bangs. read more

The salon has a really nice atmosphere and everyone was very nice. I got a cut and color with Kristina and I was very happy with the whole experience. I went just a few days after Hurricane Ian and was so happy they were able to accommodate me. I've been getting the Brazilian Blowout on my hair for years now. My regular stylist moved, so after using her for nearly 20 years, I was forced to find a new stylist. Obviously, this was a very difficult and trying time for me. ::wink:: After asking around to see if any of my friends A) loved their stylist, and B) knew if he/she did the BB, I was still not able to find anyone. I decided to look at the BB website for a list of salons that offered the service. I was happy to see they actually rank salons' levels of expertise and Bonne Vie was listed as a Master Salon for the BB. Sold! I requested an appointment via their website and was able to get my desired time slot. On the day of my appointment, I did spend a lot of time in the chair waiting for my turn at the shampoo sinks and then again waiting for my stylist to be done with her previous client--probably my only complaint--but the salon was jam-packed due to the upcoming holiday, which certainly explains the delay. Thankfully, I wasn't in a huge rush that day. My stylist Lindsay was very personable and she listened to all my silly problems with my hair and potential downfalls I've experienced when getting the BB in the past. She seemed to truly understand my hair and now that I'm styling it on my own, post-appointment, I can see she did a super job. I'm very happy with my experience at Bonne Vie and will gladly be coming back regularly to see Lindsay. read more

The only reason I am giving this place above a 1 is because the first time they did my hair I was impressed. The second time around it was ATROCIOUS. I showed my stylist a picture of a blonde balayage with darker roots and golden tones. I got platinum blonde with yellow and silver streaks, a two toned disaster. I am embarrassed to go out in public and this stylist was showing off his work to his coworkers. Wtf. From making an appointment to getting the Yelp deal which was honored without a problem to running late for my appointment and letting them know and being greeted upon my arrival everything went seamlessly. I have to say the service was outstanding and anything I would expect of a top New York City salon after all that is where he trained. The place was immaculately clean the products were top-notch and I was consulted every step of the way. I wanted a haircut to cut all my dead ends off I was losing hair postpartum and needed something refreshing light and easy to manage. I wasn't sure about the length or exactly what color and treatment I needed we talked it through and adjusted along the way based on my preferences. It turned out awesome and we got to lighten my base and give me a variety and dimension of color without multiple process treatment. I have to say I'm very impressed and delighted with my new cut and will be a loyal client for years to come. read more

Olga is very good at giving you suggestions on what type of cut will complement your face. I used to be so lost with what styles I should get and she's helped me figure out what I like. I've been seeing her for years and even though I moved a couple hours away, I come back because I still havent found a place that can cut hair quite like she does. I was very disappointed with how I was charged "double" for extensions installed less than 2 weeks ago. Within days, the bonded extensions were coming out. I called them, and they advised me to return to the salon and reinstall my weft since the bonded extensions were "not" properly installed. To add insult to injury, they charged me for this "additional service" that would not never have been necessary had the extensions been installed properly to begin with. I've been a customer for several years and am extremely disappointed that I was charged again. This does not reflect a business that is fair or loyal to its long-term customers! read more

I got a balyage done on my hair today by Adam. He was so patient and did a fantastic job at a quick pace. I showed him a picture of what I wanted on Google, and did matched it perfectly. This was the first time I didn't use bleach, but the dye the salon uses still managed to match the color exactly like I wanted. The salon is a little pricey, but they give you 20% off on your first service which really helps! Very friendly with positive attitudes and wine with your cut. Emil did a great job cutting and styling my wife's hair. However, Sam spent more than 75 minutes cutting my hair, and though he gave me a very even cut, he didn't do as I asked and cut way too much off everywhere, especially in the back. I went over this with him beforehand and he said he understood, as he has long hair himself. I now do not have any length nor curls, and my wife is disappointed (and so am I)!!! The lesson learned is NOT to spend too much time in his chair, as he obviously spent the 75+ minutes cutting each of my hairs three or four times!!!!!! Emil gets 5 stars. Sam gets 1 1/2 stars. 3 stars for them switching my stylist without notification, a rushed consultation, brushing out my extra long teased hair with very little detangler, being sat next to a maskless woman, and overall a disappointing experience. I wanted to get a nice haircut and color during the summer since I haven't had one in over a year and scheduled a consultation with a particular stylist. It went really well and I called to schedule an appointment soon after with the same guy for a balayage. I visited and consulted with about 3 other salons before deciding on this one. It was maybe a month later on my appointment date, and I'm sitting in the chair trying to discuss what I'd like for my hair with someone who I believed was the same man I had a consultation with. The conversation however was suddenly short and rushed and before I knew it I've got foils in my hair. It was then that I realized they swapped my stylist without telling me (the new stylist looked and dressed quite similar so I didn't notice immediately, it was a month later so I didn't perfectly remember his face) and during the entire 3 hours of teasing and bleaching I see the man I consulted and scheduled with working on a different client. At this point I'm concerned because I've got bleach in my hair, the consultation before the process was so short, I'm not sure if what I wanted was properly conveyed to this new stylist, and I have no idea if the details of my consultation were shared with him before they switched me to someone else. Jump forward, they washed my still teased hair and sent me to a different chair to have another stylist brush out my it out with what I felt was very little detangler for hair my length. He cuts my hair, a different stylist blow dries it (he was super nice) and I'm done after 3 hours. To be honest, I was pretty disappointed. I've got a couple random bleached chunks and the lighter pieces are cooler than my natural color so it looked quite streaky in spots. Luckily the toner's faded and my natural hair has lightened during the summer so it's evened out, but between Bonne Vie switching my stylist without notifying me, the stylist rushing the conversation before my balayage, the chaos brushing out the teasing, and me being sat right next to a maskless woman, I don't think I'll be coming back. read more
