I've been to this dental place two or three times now. I have mixed reactions. 1 Star Calling in here to change appointments, and talk to human being is next to impossible. I had an appointment 11 AM and was called into work. So I called here to let them know that I needed to re-book an appointment. I was on hold for about 45 minutes. After 45 minutes and answering service answered. Said they were out to lunch. I told her that might be now, but I've been waiting for 45 minutes. The answering service took my information. I asked her to have the office call me back to rebook the appointment. They never called back. So I just went to another dental office. After about a year, I finally got an appointment and the day before the appointment, I got a message on my answering service that they canceled my appointment for a cavity fill as I had not been to see them for a year. And I need to make a different kind of appointment? That is the strangest concept. You have an appointment for your teeth, but we're going to cancel it so you can make a different appointment for your teeth... So my wife called corporate and someone called back and got a hold of someone at this office and they sorted it out. 2 Star Once I arrived, The girls at the counter are a little rough and aggressive. Maybe they are used to dealing with people that have public assistance or no insurance... Not sure. but wouldn't be the type of interaction I would want in my office. When checking in, the girl asked me to fill out a packet, I told her I've been here a few times and they had the packet. Nothing has changed. She said it's required every year. Just staring me in the eye. I took the packet to fill out, and they told me they would call me when it was my turn. They called me back within five minutes and I had not done near any of the packet. All I was doing was writing things like on file no change and stuff like that. 5 Star In the back, everything changed. Very professional, very polite. The dentist is pretty amazing. Dr. Tyler Pine. I felt comfortable and at ease with him. he had good bedside manner even though the office was quite busy, he took plenty of time in dealing with my issues. In my opinion, the dentist, his assistant and once you get past the front end, it's worth dealing with all the other crap I had to do to get here lol. Sad that there's a lot of crap to deal with. Imagine them answering the phone, coming back, not canceling appointments because of archaic ideas, and being treated respectful when you walk in. This place would be golden. read more

Be prepared to wait an hour after your appointment starts to be seen. After that get ready for the tech to smack the x-ray machine into your mouth multiple times and never say sorry. Then to finish the doctors will come in, misread your chart, and then disappear to lunch without ever coming back to tell you different information even if they tell you that you will need an entire procedure done. Scheduled my appointment a month ago for today at 1pm. I get a text at 10am saying my appointment is cancelled because the office no longer takes my insurance. The lady over the phone told me they stopped taking my insurance in November. It's May. When I called to schedule my appointment I told them my insurance and have them all the necessary information. They couldn't have told me then that my insurance isn't excepted? She also told me to call my insurance and ask which provider i'm assigned to because it couldn't have been Absolute Dental. Which sure enough on my insurance card i'm assigned to Absolute Dental. I told her that and she said Yeah sometimes the systems aren't updated we can't do anything about it. No wonder you guys have horrible reviews. It's hard enough to get into a dentist when you have pain, now I have to wait another month to get into a different dentist, when all this could have been avoided by letting me know you don't take my insurance when I called initially to schedule the appointment. read more

My first appointment was set for 9am. They called to cancel 15 minutes before because their computers were down, and I was almost there. Set up the next appointment day the next following week. They said if I could fill out the information paperwork 24 hours ahead of time. I filled it out 2 times. Then my 2nd appointment came up. But get a call an hour before to cancel cause their computers were still down. That to me was weird and as if they didn't want to except me. The only reason several months later, had a painful molar, and they were the closest office that takes HMO coverage, cause I have no car due to vandalism. So I walk. I had to make an appointment cause of my toothache was really painful. First appointments ex-rays are first. That's from my past dental visits. And what could be done to remove that tooth, antibiotics. If needed to come back to set up treatment. Well, wasn't expecting nor prepared they could extract that tooth and the others I needed but were not painful or bothering me. Was told from another Dentist Office I would need to get them extracted or I could have a stroke. There was 2 options before treatment. I could be Numbed out and awake. Or be put under. But then Ide have to have a driver to wait for me and would take me home due to being drugged up. So knew ahead of time what Procedure was needed. I switched to an HMO Insurance cause my other was just for a certain time, and couldn't renew do to funding. That office doesn't take HMO Insurance and Absolute does. Anways, at this first visit 2 weeks ago seemed to rush the work and could num me instead of drugging me. If they were to remove my painful tooth it would be all or nothing. I agreed. The doctor Numbed me up pretty good. Then was told to sit for about 30 for numming to be completely work. In the mean time their accountant for Insurance coverage and if any costs. Sat with me to go over some financial information. I figured that stuff was investigated before my appointment. That's why ahead of time before office visit. Here I'm Numbed up and stuck cause surgery was next and I agreed, but figured it was coverage with no Co-pay. Well that was not what they came up with. And what I was only covered. And Ide have to be responsible for $650 then. I told them I couldn't pay that. Anyways, I got scammed. They got me approved on an auto-pay plan that would be deducted from my Debt card once a month. If so they needed atleast $183 then. I had to agree. They took removed 9 molars and 1 tooth. That was not fun what so ever. Was dazzed and alittle shocked afterwards. Bleeding alot, and then go to a pharmacy before walking home for antibiotics. The next morning I get a call that she was sorry, and must of missed when she worked on the financial costs that I needed to pay another $169 from me that was not covered by Insurance or could be financed. Was told I would have to wait till next year to get Partials unless I come up with $2000, cause my Insurance coverage is tapped out till next year. Wrong information again. I knew something wasn't right. I'm now working with my Insurance and I shouldn't of paid them cause I gave no Co-pay. Plus was billed and told 2 different costs. They told me that my cleanings were no covered. I would pay out of of pocket $47 for each cleaning visit. My Insurance covers my cleanings. Called Absolute yesterday with my Insurance Agent. Again waited, then said they would have someone be right with us. This was at 1:30pm. Same operator that answered then transferred to the right agent came back to us and said they just closed do to computer problems. To call back on Monday. I'm getting scammed. I'm pissed, and want my money back. I will get to the bottom of all this. read more

This was the worst dental experience of my life. As a healthcare worker, it is very obvious that this company is taking advantage of low income insurance options. On two occasions, I thought I was getting a cleaning (which took an absurd amount of time to make an appt on the phone) - I show up and they tell me it's an exam only. No cleaning - which means I have to pay TWO copays. (at any other dentist this is one visit). Their hygienist is only available on Thursdays, ONE DAY A WEEK they have a hygienist. Most importantly, the dentist INSISTED that I get X-rays during my appointment (and wouldn't discuss the matter with me personally, only talked to me through his assistant). For reference, I had already had X-rays this year so the front desk alerted me that this cost would be out of pocket. I told the dentist, I had X-rays earlier in the year, as well as X-rays last year that he had access to. He continued to insist I get a third round of radiation to my head. No one should be exposed to radiation unnecessarily like this, it's a highly inappropriate medical decision. I left the office without any services rendered, also without speaking to the dentist as he wouldn't speak with me. I get a bill in the mail for my $50 co-pay, for which they charged my insurance for an oral exam and X-rays. Completely unbelievable. By the way, they cannot reverse the claim over the phone. Not to mention, you'll end up waiting in the waiting room for at least 50 minutes past your appt time. Overall an extremely fraudulent, frustrating, time consuming experience that made me feel belittled and taken advantage of. read more

Worst dental office I've ever experienced. Don't waste your time !! Besides it being extremely hard to find the place. The front desk girls are extremely unpleasant and unprofessional. While waiting for my scheduled appointment and them helping everyone else who walks in, you can't help but impatiently wait and get to to hear their lovely conversations talking about their family's and their kids and what race their kids look like. Like why? They sounded so weird and racist. Also mentioning how they only work there in hopes to get work done on themselves and how long they have been waiting lol. Miss Shelby especially! Gossiping and giggling with her fake voice to everyone. They treat Medicaid patients unfair. Trying to get money out of you any way they can. There was a problem with establishing me as a patient, a problem on their end with getting a note from my doctor. For a cleaning?? Then suggesting me to get things done that I couldn't. Ughh they don't know shit about dental hygiene or care of patients, even how to make an appointment so not sure why or how they are employed to be so honest. Made me so annoyed and uncomfortable!! I'm pregnant and was there just to be on top of my oral care, as it is important always but especially while pregnant. While they talked about me as I was sitting RIGHT in front of them, taking guesses on how far along I was instead of just asking me and communicating like a decent human being? When I was finally seen and taken back it was the first assistant I believe, she says verbatim "i heard you're pregnant?! You don't look pregnant" ... I wanted to respond - Yeah, and you don't look like an idiot but you are!!! Or something worse I won't be coming back or be dealing with them again. I've had TWO very unsatisfactory visits to this office in the past month. The first was after I had made an appointment and I filled out all the necessary paperwork (8 pages of it!) and arrived early for my appointment, only to find that they had my name and info on their computer, but they forgot to put my appointment time in their computer! So, I had to make another appointment for the following week! A waste of at least two hours. But they were in a new office, which was difficult to find, but I managed. I excused this first-time screw-up. I went to my SECOND appointment and did manage to see the dentist. Actually, my discussion about a treatment plan went reasonably well with the doctor, himself. He and his staff then instructed me to wait in the treatment office while they printed up what we had talked about. Then the wait began! I thought of many reasons why this part of the process would take some time, but after 45 minutes, even though the computer with all my info on it was still connected, I made my way to the front office ... only to find that the entire office, including receptionist(s?), technicians, nurses and the doctor himself HAD LEFT THE PREMISES, maybe to get lunch? Who knows??? To add insult to injury, they had LOCKED ME IN THE OFFICE!! I find this inexcusable, not to mention grossly unprofessional. I am now perusing my insurance carrier to find out what other dentists accept their coverage. I do not recommend this practice. At all. read more

This place does its best to fleece you for more money as soon as they start working on you. My last three visits to this place have all been the same. They tell me how much the procedure/visit will cost, and then it ends up costing double. Over those three visits, I have paid $1,000 more than what they initially told me it would cost. A root canal ended up costing me $700 when I was told it would be almost $300 (which I of course paid) before the procedure started. That is theft and false advertising. The only thing going for this place is the friendly staff. ABSOLUTEly will not be returning to ANY of this company's locations and will recommend others don't as well. Went in to check on pricing before making an appointment and was given a price. Went back a few month's later and asked again and was told the same price, so I made an appointment. Hade the impressions done for dentures and they never did a wax try ins, the top dentures didn't even come close to fitting right and the doctor said you need to wear them for a week before she would do anything. They would stay in . Dr repeated that I need to wear them for a week again. When I disagreed with her she said she is never wrong because SHE IS A DOCTOR! I had also heard her talk bad with other patients. I asked her assistant if this was normal of her and she said yes, she talks down and argues with patients all the time. To top things off they said they won't see me to fix my dentures because I owe another $586 after being assured before arr this that I paid in full. Billing department has not returned multiple voice mails over the last month. (They do not answer the phone)To top things off they billed my insurance $5700 when my bill shows a total of $2100 read more

My mother had all her teeth pulled and received dentures at same appointment. Could not check fit due to having all teeth pulled. Dentures were too big and cannot fit in any way in her mouth. They refuse to replace unless she pays. She is a senior on Medicaid and obvious had no funds to pay. This is Medicaid fraud. All attempts thus far have proved futile to rectify the situation. Next step may have to be to report them. read more

Back in April my brother started the procedure with them to get a full bottom set of dentures. He paid for the extractions at a different location and then was sent to a different location on 4th to get the dentures. They made the dentures and put them in. When he went back for an adjustment to make sure that they fit correctly, the dentist (who was the one who made them) stated that they never made the dentures and basically called him a liar and did nothing for him. He then had to call the corporate number which was a fiasco and they looked him up and said yes they made the dentures. He had another appointment today to go back in at the mae anne location being the 4th st location closed and they said he had an attitude when they tried to charge him $286 for a realignment when the 1st proper fitting was never done to begin with. It is the same dentist at the mae anne location. He has had to burn through pto for these appointments with nothing to show for it but to continually be told he needs to spend more money when they didn't do the job to completion and satisfaction in the first place. I would never use absolute dental in fact I use to go there but had similar results so I switched to a better more reputable dentist. read more
