The entire experience was traumatizing and awful to say the least. They ruined my smile; it started off a few somewhat crooked teeth that were enough to make a teenager insecure. Now I have multiple crowns, and they did a terrible job installing them, so much so that I had to go through a different dentist. Dr Hock is an absolute joke. He calls himself a oral surgeon. I have an abscess tooth and he refused to pull the bad tooth and would only pull all my bottom teeth or none for $1600!!! This was my third visit to the office and every time I've had to wait at least 30 minutes to an hour after my appointment time was booked. The dentist was in too much of a hurry to answer my questions about possible fixes, procedures for my specific situation. Absolute Dental should be ashamed of themselves. Would give a negative number if it was possible. Stay away from this clip joint. I went in for an eval, being new to the area, and they claimed I needed a 'deep cleaning'. I have taken pristine care of my dental hygiene for my entire life, and have never been deeply cleaned. When they come in with a 'price list' for the work that they say needs to be done, it's scam time. Your insurance covers little, if anything on their laminated list. I have to revise my review. After our first appointment where everyone was nice we went to use the dental discount plan they sold us and they wouldn't allow it. We were only able to get the services they were up selling us. Funny how all of a sudden both my husband and I both need $650 deep cleanings. Wife had a bad tooth ache and was able to get appointment on a weekend from a dentist in Reno that was not affiliated with Absolute Dental got xrays and a referral that was not Absolute Dental and was prescribed antibiotics. Because they did not accept our Dental savings plan We called Absolute Dental in Reno and explained the above and who does honor our savings plan my wife was given an appointment a month out they even asked if we could get the xrays which we did and was told they may want to take new xrays which if needed was ok with it. The day of appointment we were called that Doctor had an family emergency and cancelled our appointment they then said they could get my wife into Carson City a couple weeks out and we accepted we drove from Reno to Carson City to be told that we could not see a doctor without a referral they refused to call Reno office and was very rude and was upset at us that we were frustrated after we drove all this way for nothing. Not trying to rectify a problem of a possible new customer. If they cannot even attempt to help a customer what kind of care would you expect to get, Beware they are not willing to take the extra step to help you. On 21th of March Absolute Dental on Topsy just refused to service me; a disabled person, because, I couldn't see to well without my glass & sign their COVID form. I answered their questions & was wearing a mask; but they required I sign. So they call my sister; as she have limited POA & asked her to come in. As my sister to come in the office; was approached by a worker with a clipboard & wearing a mask. My sister ask; say what's going on? The worker informs my sister that the COVID form MUST be signed. She ask; is this not in violation of the patient's "HIPPA" rights? She was then informed; she needed to put the mask on & sign the COVID form or I {her brother} would not be treated. She said; I'm not wearing a mask as the "Governor of Nevada" removed the mandate to wear them. She was then ushered out of the office. She was informed that I {her brother} would no longer be seen by Absolute Dental. She asked for his {brother} dentures, since we had paid $2000 in cash for them & the worker walked away from my sister. After about 5 minutes; my sister opened the door, popped her head in and asked; is someone getting those teeth for me{her brother}? She was told we were being refunded. Medicaid was being refunded. My sister asked are you then cutting me a check? At which point; She was told to leave. As the patient; I can truly, say they{Absolute Dental} are mean & rude & act like you are a mind reader person to know what is exactly expected out of you for your dental appointment; never called to explain what procedure is to be expected. I didn't know absolute dental is a franchise. I'm new in Carson. If I had known it is a franchise I would not have gone there. I had several tooth extracted. This is a major surgery for me. When I showed up for my appointment they told me that they canceled my appointment because I did not confirm my appt. when they texted me. I told them that I always show up for an appointment. I was anxious for over 2 months since this is major surgery.They also said that I will be sedated even though I did not tell them that I want to be sedated. I paid for all my visits in advance. I received several bills from the corporate office in Las Vegas after my treatment. They want the payment for the bills asap. What is that? This is a scam. Iman Nilforushan is great and did a good job with the denture. Christopher hock did a good job on the tooth extractions. My beef is the way they run their business which I'm sure because it is a franchise all rules comes from the corporate office. When they call or text to confirm appointments, they say we'll cancel your appointment if you don't confirm. Who does that? That is so bad for business. DO NOT GET DENTISTRY DONE HERE or at the north Carson City location. After waiting for four months to get a single tooth extracted, my husband ultimately got ten bottom teeth extracted. This place butchered him. Now we're having to pay another dentist to try to fix what this chop shop did to him, and it's quite expensive. He is still in pain from what Absolute Dental did to him, and he has difficulties eating. Also, I overheard two other patient's sagas trying to even get treatment here after six months and over a year. We are considering legal action. ABSOLUTE RIP-OFF Let me explain what Absolute Dental is. They are the McDonald's of the dental industry. Yes, they will get you in the door with an initial exam of $39 - but then, they will do their level best to up-sell you on ridiculous services that are NOT NEEDED. I went in there for a routine teeth cleaning ($100). Because I was a new patient - I was required to get the X-Rays and Exam ($39). Okay fine. I'll do that. No cavities, btw, and everything else (crowns, etc.) all appear fine. After my initial exam, they brought in a Periodontist to exam my gums. For the record, I have had professional (high-end) dentistry care all of my life - for 62 years. Professional crowns, root canals, routine cleanings and everything all my life. I have NEVER had any problem whatsoever with my gums!!! A year ago I retired and went with a new health insurance plan that did NOT offer dental insurance - hence, why I ended up at Absolute Dental. So, after my exam, the Periodontist says that I have Gum Disease. WHAT? They then sent in the nicely dressed front desk lady (who handles the financing) who proceeds to tell me the "deep cleaning" that I need will cost $1700. "Are you f***ing kidding me?" They REFUSED to do the standard teeth cleaning for $100 as advertised. I literally laughed, stood up from the dental chair and walked out. BYE BYE!!! I would give this ABSOLUTE RIP-OFF of a business zero stars if I could. Their mission is to find suckers who are desperate for cheap service only to get them on a finance plan and upsell them on services they don't really need. Avoid Absolute Dental at all cost. This is the biggest joke of a dentists office I've ever seen, maybe their name should be Absolutely a F*!@ing Joke of a Dental office. After reading some of these other reviews, the four and five star reviews must be employees or paid participants, this place is a joke. So I'd tried calling on Thursday, Friday and this morning to get my wife's appointment cancelled, each time I was on hold for over 30 minutes before the call was eventually disconnected. I went into the office this morning after waiting for two months for my check up and cleaning. I was greeted at the door by a lady who wouldn't let me in as I wasn't in my mask, ok I'll wait for you to find me one, even though I've been fully vaccinated for over two months now, I understand your protocols, sorry I don't travel with a mask in my pocket any more, ten minutes later she gave me a mask and let me in the door, even though three delivery drivers walked past me into the office with no masks. Then they sat me down to do the x-rays, no issues there. Then the hygienist comes in and says he's going to do my exam to see what level of cleaning I would need for my cleaning appointment (WHAT, I'm here for my comprehensive exam and cleaning!!) . Who has time to go to the dentist three times for a check, cleaning and any work that needs to be finished, I walked out at this point. My experience with this branch of Absolute Dental was not so good.Although I do not wish to give an impression of negativity this is the 100% truth. Over the past 9-11 months I have been working with the staff of Absolute Dental to bring my smile back.I was extremely excited givin the fact that I had lost all ability to do so.Its was not the procedure itself That took place that was horrific as to the profit approach.In the initial cost vs insurance sit down I was givin a breakdown of how much each treatment was going to cost And what my my insurance was going to cover.At first I was a bit hesitant but what made me partner was the fact that the assistant said and I quote "if you sign this contract now then this cost will not change".So I signed.within the following several weeks treatment began and I began to feel more confident within myself.I was electric again.as a matter of fact I began to grow fond of the office staff.little did I know things were about to change.what followed next was absolutely heartbreaking.As treatments began to schedule further on prices started to change."but I thought the price wouldn't change?" Called Absolute Dental and within 5 minutes, had an appointment for the next morning at 7am. First off the receptionists were as nice in person as on phone( rare). Absolute Disaster. I would give zero stars if I could. I wasted months with this dental group trying to get a root canal performed. I first called in May. Any time you call you have to go through some office in Las Vegas. This local office does not pick up their calls. They were not able to get me in for an initial consultation until August. I had X-rays done and a consultation in September. The time of the appointment was switched without consulting me first. The endodontist is not on staff, but travels between their different offices so he's only there once a month--subject to change without notice. We discussed-and agreed on- a treatment plan. The endodontist said he would have to take off a crown, do the root canal and a dentist would put a new crown on the same day. I was finally able to set an appointment for November 16. When they called to confirm my appointment it was moved (again without notifying me first) to Nov. 10. I had the availability so I confirmed the appointment. Three days later I get a text confirmation for a Nov. 16 appointment. When I called to ask what that was about, I was told that is when the crown would be put back on. On Nov 10th the endodontist refused to adhere to the treatment plan and would not even put a filling or temporary crown on the tooth after the root canal. I would have had an open tooth subject to discomfort and infection for a week. I cancelled the appointment. The office staff told me I would be billed for a last minute cancel even though the endodontist refused to abide by his own treatment protocol. This dental office is very unprofessional and has no concern for the well being of patients. Stay clear. I ended up going to another endodontist that had my root canal done in two weeks--without having to remove my crown. read more

The dentist (Dr. Petrie) here is great 5 star. The billing practices however are horrible as the office staff tries to upsell everything. And don't use their surgeon he's rough and doesn't use gas when it's paid for.. I had a moller extracted due to the cost of saving the tooth. And it ended up costing more than the root canal(saving the tooth)and now i dont have the tooth. Shady billing practices, quote is one thing charges are another. I have found out that as of 20th of January 2018 Dr. Petrie is no longer the dentist at this office she has returned to Las Vegas. Should've thought to post this a couple of years ago when I finally got fed up and found a new dentist. I had a crown done and after the assistant put it in, she said that the dentist just needed to check it and I'd be good to go. Based on that I had made the appointment at a time where it'd be a couple of hours before I would need to pick up my husband from work. However, what was supposed to be just a quick check took hours. The dentist couldn't ordain to spend two minutes with me checking on my crown before seeing other patients. Instead he kept seeing them and I was stuck there for two hours! Had to call my husband and tell him that he had to wait longer, because I would not be able to pick him up on time. Not only that, but that one dentist obviously just thinks of us as money in the bank. He barely talks to you and acts like he just wants to get you out of the way (except in my case he didn't even care enough to check my crown real quick). I had scheduled an exam, x rays and cleaning. First I was told the Reno office takes certain insurances , then I was told they do not. I decided to go to Carson City. They need to get the schedulers well educated on what types of insurances are accepted. I was seen, and it took 2 hours just to take x rays and have an exam. Then I was told the hygienist left and I would have to make another appointment for a cleaning. Then they tried to sell with their plan all these additional treatments, stating I may need gum reconstruction surgery, etc. As a doctor myself, I would not have any patients if I overwhelmed them with products /services that they did not need. I don't smoke, eat healthy, floss twice per day, and am very healthy. They were almost 10 fold what I paid for in GA for a cleaning and x rays! Okay so I took a chance after the less than stellar reviews here and couldn't be happier that I did. Absolute Dental isn't "spa like" and no you don't have a serene quiet fancy room of your own. Some would call it "assembly line" dentistry. So?? I call it efficient!! And because it's efficient it's also way more affordable. In my 3 appointments I've never spent more than 10 minutes in the waiting room which is a shame because it is a very nice waiting room. When you're taken back all the magic happens in the same area and in the same chair from X-rays to exam to work. Dr. Nahim, bless his heart, appears to be as busy as a one armed paper hanger going from patient to patient. You would think he would be frazzled. He's not. In fact I was a bit surprised by the care he shows. He even asked if I was feeling well and if I had had breakfast before beginning my marathon appointment that led to 6 crowns, a bridge, and a very amazing new smile. Every employee appears to be "teamwork" oriented helping each other every step of the way. Saw that in all 3 of my visits. Same goes for the front desk staff. I do have to say one negative thing and I can't blame the dental office. It took an extra week for the lab to complete my work so be advised there could be a delay if you're having crowns, bridges, etc. I'm impressed overall with the staff and I am beyond THRILLED with the outcome of all their hard work!! Came here because my filling had fallen out. I don't have a dentist yet because I'm new to the area. They were able to fit me in the day that I called. I made an appointment for 12pm and I was out at 1:45. It only took 20 min for the actual filling so there was about an hour plus of sitting and waiting. I was apprehensive after reading the reviews to bring my two children here, one of which was her visit to a dentist. I took my chances and hoped for the best though as convenient the location was and as easy as it was to schedule the appts for both of my kids with such short notice. The office was beautifully decorated and comfortable to wait in. From there, I was greeted by a personable reception staff that thankfully didn't have a trace of "we are tired of this redundant job", Instead they were upbeat and helpful and later in the visit were upfront about the care my kids needed, if it really needed to be done and what insurance would cover. By the time I was done filling out the paperwork, they had both kids back and one x-rayed already. Next it was time to meet the dentist. It was his first day in the office, he was enthusiastic, as well as polite and was not intimidating to the kids. The hygienists were quick and efficient with the cleaning and we were out of there with two gift certificates in hand for being good patients. I definitely wanted to give the whole staff a compliment because too often we only hear the complaints. They ALL provided service above the standards with the time and care that they took and were so great that they deserve a nice compliment for a job very well done!
