I was desperate for an Ogilvy black jump pad as my saddle wasn't fitting as well as it should and my horse had had it with my various attempts at his comfort. I called the regular tack suppliers who had nothing in stock and Ogilvy gave me shipping dates of 4-8 months then I found a listing on Ogilvy's site for The Absolute Horse. I was so excited that they had exactly what I needed and when I explained that I really needed it soon, I was assured I'd receive it. Five days later I had my pad! I just had the "absolute" worst encounter with the women I know to be the owner of the shop. She was rude, sarcastic and obviously couldn't have cared less about me or my business. As a member of the horse community here in Bend for the last 30+ years, and Absolute Horse being the only store of its kind, I have literally spent thousands of dollars there through the years. Great English tack shop! They have all the top name brands: Ariat, Kerrits, Goode Rider, Gersemi, Horseware Ireland, GPA, Baker, Pikuer, RJ Classics, Tailored Sportsman, Joules, Grand Prix, and much more. They have a great selection of show clothes and everyday riding wear, paddock boots, tall boots, socks, helmets, gloves, and half chaps. They have a good deal of new and used english and dressage saddles. There was a wide variety of saddle pads, bridles, bits, boots, and blankets, along with everyday items such as brushes, liniments, treats and halters. Prices range from very affordable (Ovation, etc) to very pricey (Pikeur, GPA, tack), and everything in between. The store is open and inviting, all items arranged comfortably and practically around the floor. The staff was friendly and helpful, but not pushy (I hate pushy sales people). The Absolute Horse truly rocks! They have a great selection of stuff, and with good, sought-after brands. I could spend a lot of time (and money!) in the store each time I go, but it's also fun to poke around and look at new stuff. The lady is super sweet and even offered to price match another big tack website so I could get the best possible deal on my new helmet. I'm still waiting for my helmet to come into the store so I can drive over and get it, but I'm so much happier to support a great local tack shop than a bigger company. So worth it!
