I had some trouble with my order from an employee that didn't communicate well that is no longer with the company. Jennifer took over my order and went out of her way to make sure that everything was taking care of. My RV carport was delivered when they said it would. The quality of materials and workmanship was outstanding. When ever I had a question they were quick with a response. Absolute debacle. Ordering was easy enough but they subcontract with a company for shipping and delivery and they did a terrible Job. They arrived 4 hours late and destroyed our front gate and left without leaving the material. We are still waiting for material to be delivered two weeks later. Absolute steel ans storage provided no apology and are unable to tell us when the material will be redelivered. One of the most frustrating experience. read more

I started looking into plans for a steel building in Jan of 21 was told Absolute steel was the one to go to by my Neighbor I talked to Dillion then was sent to Kurt gave a down payment on4-1-21 , I received plans on 4-21 then i did not here back 10-21 and talked to Sabastian he said my building was ready I than found out My RV cover was called a garage and I have to put a slab under the cover. Noone at Absolute steel told me about, now my building will cost 10,000.00 more called and talked to Jennifer she said she would email me back with plans I never heard back , I called 11-10 11-16 11-18 12-1 12-2 12-20 1-7 2-1 and talked to 5 people and still have not heard back I would like my money back very poor customer service. read more

There has never been any leaks any where, it's as good today as it was 13 years ago. My experience with Absolute Steel was mixed. Ordering was easy, cost competitive, and the structure was relatively easy to build; however, my experience between ordering and constructing was very frustrating. I ordered a 14'W x 25'L x 12.5'H, Mohave style RV Carport, online, on Feb 11th. During my initial call I asked the representative, multiple times, when I could expect receipt of the engineered plans and the structure. He repeatedly said I should receive the plans in about two weeks and the structure in about six weeks. That was reasonable, so I ordered and paid for the carport. At the two week point, I received preliminary plans for review. Since I was at the two week point, and there were no changes to the plans, I assumed the stamped plans would arrive in a day or two. They didn't. I contacted Absolute Steel at the three and four week period and received excuses. At five weeks I received electronic versions of the engineered plans and was told the paper originals with the engineer's stamp (needed for building permit) would be sent overnight mail that afternoon. Five days later (6 weeks after purchase) I received the stamped plans. Six weeks had passed so I expected the frame and panels to arrive soon. I hurried preparations; obtained my building permit, scheduled the foundation inspection, placed the concrete, and built the drive in three days. I didn't need to rush. At seven weeks I contacted the company. I was told my building was in manufacturing but should be completed and shipped "soon". At 8 weeks I received an email asking me to confirm the color of the panels (already on my invoice) and to tell me they would be making the panels "soon". At 9 weeks I contacted the company (a Monday) and was told my frame and panels were done, would ship that week, and I would receive tracking info Tuesday or Wednesday....I didn't. On Thursday, I contacted the company. I was told they just completed the carport on Wednesday?? and I should receive shipping information that afternoon. Most of the frame parts arrived April 22nd, ten weeks after purchase. Unfortunately, there were no Z-clips in the shipment so raising the frame was not possible. More importantly, the Panels did not arrive with the frame parts. I contacted the company again, I asked them to overnight the Z-clips and I wanted an update on the panels. On April 23rd the representative called and said the Z-clips were shipped and I should receive them the next day; however, the panels would be delayed because they didn't have coiled steel in my color and approximate delivery date was now mid-May. I was dumbfounded. He told me two weeks prior that my panels were finished, loaded, and ready for delivery.... when in fact they hadn't been made yet. This lack of credibility and integrity was unacceptable so I contacted management at Absolute Steel to express my dissatisfaction. To their credit, a manager contacted me and we arranged for a local fabricator to provide the panels and trim. The alternate panels were ready in five days and I picked them up. While waiting for the panels, I installed the base rails and built the stud/rafter/truss assemblies. When I received the panels, two 65yo men raised the frame and complete the panel installation in three days. Construction was completed May 8th. One additional frustration: the company sent the wrong panel screws; they were not self tapping. I ended up purchasing correct screws from my local fabricator at my own expense. The continuous stream of frustrations caused me to regret purchasing from Absolute Steel. With so many other manufacturers available, I just don't think they were worth the hassle. I could not rely on anything I was told by the representative. The misinformation, inaccurate turn-around times, missing parts, wrong parts, and lies, made it impossible to construct the structure in a timely manner. At every instance, they over-promised then under-delivered. This is unacceptable. I do applaud the manager for contacting me and arranging a work-around for the panels; however, it should never have gotten to that point. This was my experience and an honest review: three stars.... decent product but pathetic customer experience. read more

My experience with them has not been the best. Misinformed on details. The prints for my project were inconclusive and did not provide enough information for the installer. I ended up paying for a build of a larger size than what is actually built. The installer Jorge was a pain on the ass. These buildings are kits. When you have to start cutting material to get things to fit that should throw up a red flag. I mentioned it to one of the workers that this isn't right and he just shrugged his shoulders as if to say "oh well" Kurt could have been a little more involved in explaining to their installer of this type of installation. Customers should be treated the same regardless of the size of the project. The quality of the material is great. Since I have been hit with a storm in August of 2018 I had nothing but problems with installers including inside the house. Accountability and competence no longer exist. I am sure they are great with larger buildings but when you throw a smaller sized building at them the installer is lost. read more

I made a serious mistake and ordered one of their non-standard designs - a salt box structure that they've named Maricopa. We thought it was going to better fit our southwest style home and shape-wise, it does. However, it turned out that few others have selected this design and apparently we were their guinea pigs. Pre-cut metal pieces were too often improperly sized (some too long, some too short - some explained away as being suitable because they fell under their criteria of being within 1/4" of the desired length, while their plans recommended plumb within 1/8"!) and the provided plans were too often incomplete or just plain wrong. Complaints regarding construction plan errors suggested that YouTube videos should be reviewed for proper guidance. What? As a first time metal structure builder but competent DIYer, this was an incredibly frustrating experience. Their first apology and early attempts to resolve issues was appreciated, but it was evident that as continued construction continued and seemingly inevitable problems to their design and instructions surfaced, they became tired of being informed and corrected. Their first attempt to pay me back for my continued frustration was to offer an entry or garage door at their cost, but then they noted that I could buy either for less at a big box store. In the end, they did replace the mis-sized and missing components and as a consolation prize for dozens (hundreds?) of my hours reworking errors in their plans and providing corrections to their instructions, they called it even by providing a 1 oz bottle of scratch cover paint (for one of the two colors). Their more popular designs may have had the bugs already worked out, but my single (and only) experience with Absolute Steel concluded that their extensive quality issues should remove them from consideration. read more
