a food truck parked on the side of the road

I'm actually really surprised at how bad the service and food was. I've been to multiple Abu Omar trucks and they're usually delicious! So when I saw a new location right by my house I was very excited!!! My husband spoke to the man so the service is based on his point of view. He said the guy in the truck completely ignored him until another guy was coming up. It really ticked my husband off because he was just standing there to help. The good didn't take long to get. The fries were fresh and delicious! Hot and had seasoning. It was my beef shawarma that let me down. I don't know what happened but the flavor was off. Nothing like the other trucks. It wasn't grilled as hard as usual it just wasn't good. I had two bites and I was done. I hope it's only because they're new I might try again but idk

Burn the styrofoam. And four small pieces of falafel for $5.

Got lunch there. The food was NASTY!! I was craving for some Middle Eastern food and found this place. Ordered: -Beef Rice Bowl: tons of rice that was too salty and so mushy. The beef was so dry. The sauce tasted weird. - Lamp Rice Bowl: same as above. Lamb didn't taste like lamb, just some dry salty meat texture pieces of something. Yuk! - Beef Kabob sandwich: it was nothing more than some processed beef cut in strip with sauce and some lettuce wrap. I don't know how could they messed up this simple dish but they sure f*ed it up. Came with fries and you could taste the old oil they used to fry the fries in. Yuk - the falafel order: $5 for 4 tiny pieces! They threw it in the styrofoam container and melted container. - Also, a large fries for $5? The fries were greasy, and they probably used old oil. You could have gotten McD fries for less and taste better. Total price: around $50! What a freaking rib off for nasty to go food from a food truck. I gave this 1 star but really zero star would be appropriate.

When I'm craving Mediterranean food, Fadi's is always one of my go-to spots. There are several…read morelocations around Houston, but I especially like this Katy Freeway location because it offers weekday specials that provide excellent value. Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., they offer a lunch special with one kebab and two sides for $17. They also have a happy hour Monday through Thursday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. with one kebab and two sides for $15, which is a great deal. The kebab options typically include chicken, beef, lamb, or shrimp. To my knowledge, the other Fadi's locations do not offer these specials. On my most recent visit, I stopped by for happy hour. While the kebabs aren't necessarily my favorite item on the menu, it's hard to beat a meal with one kebab and two sides for $15. I chose the pomegranate eggplant, fried cauliflower, and their "Mama Ganoush," a roasted eggplant dip similar to baba ganoush. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Each meal also comes with a warm pita bread that is served fresh from the oven. The ordering process is simple: grab a tray, move down the line, and choose from the foods on display before paying at the register. The staff are always friendly, and there's plenty of seating inside. If you're looking for fresh, authentic Mediterranean food in the Katy area, Fadi's is an easy recommendation.

Had to call over the server to order after chatting for a bit, so I appreciated that it wasn't pushy in terms of needing to get the patrons to order food quickly. The waiters were all very attentive and friendly. We ordered an appetizer that came with kibbeh, fried cheese wrapped in an eggroll wrapper, and falafel. I'm not usually a falafel person, but this one changed me. The kibbeh and the fried cheese was incredible as well!! As for the main dish, I got the shish kabob combo and was served a hefty portion - honestly enough for 2 people. The rice was so fluffy and the shish was moist and cooked wonderfully! Total was around $28 with taxes excluding tip - so quite hefty of a price tag but really delicious food worth coming back for.

My favorite item was probably the beef shish kabob. Overall a good spot for Mediterranean food if you're in the area!
