Not much to say unfortunately, the loaded Philly sandwich was salty and dry. I would say I'd rather have some of those ready made sandwiches from Costco. Maybe it was an off day, I did walk in on a Thursday night at 10 pm, but that shouldn't matter. I was really excited to try Deen's Cheesesteak and Pizza in Katy after seeing the menu online -- especially since I'm vegetarian and was really craving pasta (pregnancy cravings in full effect!). The options looked promising, so my husband went to pick up dinner for us. I ordered the penne alla vodka pasta and he got a cheese pizza. The total came out to around $30, which felt pretty steep once we actually tried the food. The pasta didn't come with any bread, which was disappointing, and it had very little sauce -- like the kitchen might've been running low at the end of the night. I found a small corner of the tray that had some flavor, and that part was tasty, but overall it was under-seasoned, and I ended up adding my own spices at home. I'd give the pasta a 5/10. My husband said the pizza was just okay -- he gave it about a 6.5/10. Nothing terrible, but nothing that would make us want to order again. For the price, we expected better quality and larger portions. Honestly, even something like Domino's pasta would've given more bang for the buck. We've wanted to try this spot for a very long time and today was the day... For starters, service was not good. We were barely greeted upon entry, it was as if they were inconvenienced by our presence... They messed up on our order twice and I'm sure we were over charged at some point. We just wanted our food so we could go and therefore we didn't make a big fuss... Double cheeseburger was good, nice size, meat was juicy and bun was crisp. My bf ordered mozzarella sticks because he thought he would be getting the same ones in the pictures on their website... The mozzarella sticks are not the same type as advertised (yes it does make a difference) ....and they were not cooked long enough, my bf will have to throw them in the air fryer for some extra crispness... I was so excited to try the pizzas and calzones from here, but unfortunately when I was ordering over the phone, they said that they were not able to make them that evening. No worries, I got the cheesesteaks instead and they were delicious! I like the cheese steak that was the original better because I did not like they yellow cheese as much as the white one...the yellow cheese was quite salty. But I am not taking any stars off because that is just a personal preference. They still deserve 5 stars because they had our food ready by the time we went there to pick up, which was about a 20 minute drive. Im glad that the cheesesteaks were so delicious, the fries were also crispy and I asked white garlic sauce to dip my fries in, and that was a good idea I'm proud to have had. I'm really glad I did that because it was a great dipping sauce for the fries! The last two times I ordered an extra large pepperoni pizza online. They forgot the pepperoni both times. When I reached out to complain I never got an apology but I was told I'd be refunded my $2 for pepperoni. (Let's be honest no pepperoni changes the whole pizza and I should be completely refunded.) I was looking for a quick bite before our movie time at the AMC theatre, and in searching for Mediterranean place, Deen's came up on the yelp search. Its a small restaurant on a strip next to a gas station with limited seated. The owners are like major marvel or DC comic fans as most of their ambiance have photos of super heroes. I had heard from friends that their philly cheesesteak is pretty good, but we went with a cheese burger combo that came with French fries, and a gyro platter (large). The burger was good. A nice sized juicy patty with all the fixings and the French fries were golden brown, and crisp. I also nibbled a little bit from the gyro platter and it was pretty good. The lamb was cooked well and served over a bed of rice and salad. They drizzled the white sauce all over the gyro (tzatziki ... I think that's how you spell it). Overall, a good quick dining choice. Yesterday I had a very strong craving for pizza, cheesy bread and wings. I remembered the delicious cheesesteaks we had from here previously so I looked at reviews for pizza. Saw the pictures of pizza and cheesy bread and decided to place an order. Little did I know that Deen's is now under new management and had I known I would not have ordered. Plus, when I walked in and observed that masks were not being worn by the lady taking orders nor the gentleman preparing food (without gloves), I should have left immediately. I ordered '16 inch Supreme pizza with onions, a cheesy bread order, and 6 piece hot wings. Total was $30.28 The cheesy bread was good. My son loved it!!! It was different in size and look than what I am used to (view the picture). The hot wings were average. For the spice lover that I am, their Hot flavor wasn't hot to me. Now this Supreme pizza was very disappointing!! The meat ratio was not equal across the entire pizza. The crust was soggy. The toppings were sliding off. I could not believe that the onion slices were not nicely chopped or sliced to blend on the pizza. We were very disappointed and felt like we wasted our money. So if we were to ever return, (not likely), we would only order the cheesy bread. read more

Had heard a lot of great things about this place for quite some time and couldn't wait to try it. Happened to be in Katy today and stopped by to try their food. We ordered their Chicken Tikka philly steak, and malai chicken over rice. The chicken tikka philly steak was amazing! The chicken was tender and the sauce was delicious! We didn't enjoy the malai chicken as much since twas bland. The owner came to our table and offered us to try some free samples of their wings as they were making a fresh batch. Really impressed with this place after my first visit. Their menu has so much variety it was hard to make up my mind. I eventually called to order pickup for a large pizza- half Malai chicken, half sausage and pepperoni. They are located in a busy strip on Barker Cypress.. well it was busy that night but I did find parking on the end next to a suspicious looking white van lol. It's a pretty big location like triple the size of your typical Marcos so plenty of seating inside. Upon waking in I was excited to see they have several frozen yogurt machines. After sampling all the flavors I got a bowl with salted caramel and red velvet. As soon as I got back to the register my pizza was ready. I checked out quickly, made small talk with the owner and a family who frequently visits. I liked the way they were interacting and thought that was a good sign of their customer service. I noticed that the restaurant was clean and tidy minus one table the family just got up from. The entire car ride home I was munching on the froyo. Couldn't put it down. The pizza smelled amazing and tasted even better. I liked the crust, the dough was flavorful and fully cooked. The sauce was seasoned well and all ingredients were fresh. TLDR: don't get cheesesteaks, get pizza. Their website and yelp both say they're closed on Mondays but when we called, they were actually open! We called in our takeout order on the way there and surprisingly it only took 15 minutes. Our order was a cheesy bread appetizer, wings, large buffalo chicken pizza, deens cheesesteak, texas cheesesteak, and a classic cheesesteak. The cheesesteaks were a letdown. To be fair, I think we're all used to philly cheesesteaks that are packed with flavor from other halal places like Busy Boy and Bismillah, so we were expecting something similar. The cheese wiz on my classic was only on the outer edge, so every other bite was super dry. The meat overall was bland and there were barely any onions in my sandwich. The deen's cheesesteak was a little better in that regard. I would rate them both a 6/10. Everything else totally exceeded our expectations!! The cheesy bread appetizer was great and I love that they didn't skimp on the marinara sauce. It was MORE than enough. The buffalo chicken pizza was a 10/10. It was sooo cheesy and delicious. I would literally come back here just for the pizza alone! Based off just the cheesesteaks I would've given 3 stars, but the other items were so great! I did not try the texas cheesesteak or the wings so I can't speak for those. Overall it was a great experience and even though the cheesesteaks weren't what we were expecting, we will return for the other items. Luckily i found Deens while I was filling up my water bottles. I decided to stop in and check the place out. Ordered the Deens cheesesteak and it was great. The customer service was amazing also. I saw a guy get a pizza so I made plans for dinner. Later that evening I came back for a pizza and another cheesesteak. Huge potions ! Ordered a Philly cheesesteak , gyro fries, and a shake. Legit shared my fries with three people and my philly cheese steak with another person. They have a new owner so idk how it was before but this one is pretty cool. Meat is still halal but no soft serve they do have shakes with blue bell options to choose from. Oh Deen's...I can't think of a more inconsistent restaurant. I've had both great service and food from this place, and not so good service and food from this place. Long wait times, wrong orders, and subpar food seem to be the trend lately. The featured item in their name, the cheesesteak, has gotten worse every time I order it. This particular day, almost no onions, barely any cheese whiz and all the meat squished into the middle of the sandwich in a big lump...just demonstrates no care. Not to mention they forgot to put fries and a drink, that I paid for, in the order. Every time I order from Deen's I have to think twice if I really want to. This was my first time eating at Deen's and I was NOT disappointed. My Deen's American cheesesteak had a ton of flavor and even after my drive back to my class the sandwich was still extremely hot. I had them add jalapeños and unlike most other places these had a some spice. If I had anything to complain about it was that it is currently takeout only. This is in response to the COVID. I was informed that they were going to open a second location at I-10 and Chimney Rock. One it is open I will be adding Deen's to my places to return to. read more

I'm not sure who thought it would be a good idea to write with what appears to be marker on the INSIDE of the food containers, but the ink transferred to the food. I keep giving it another chance and after the burger combo my husband had today we won't be eating here ever again. This was our weekly sometimes multiple times a week place to eat and it has slowly gone further and further downhill. No one who use to work here still does and that's very clear in the food. Just an example the last three times we got combos there were fry scraps not even a handful of fries, this time I counted and he got 6 frys with his burger combo and the burger was poorly seasoned it tasted like a bland hunk of beef. Deems had a promo on Uber Eats of buy one get one free. I ordered 2 regular cheesesteaks and 2 orders of onion rings. All the food I received was so salty I couldn't eat it! Threw away 80% of what I got. I was able to eat a small amount of one of the sandwiches but gave up, only tasting the salt. The onion ring batter was the worst, couldn't taste the onion at all. I ordered a medium supreme pizza, 6 mild wings, and the Deen's American Philly cheesesteak. The establishment is immaculately clean and neatly set up from inside. The employees are courteous. I took this order to go and drive it about 30mins out towards downtown. I ate the food then and fell in love. The flavor is freaking amazing and the food was fresh. The only tip I can provide if the owners are reading is that please poke holes on the white foam trays to ventilate the steam of the hot food or else the food becomes soggy. I am at fault for not doing it myself and therefore will fairly judge beyond that for the quality and quantity of the food I purchased. Will definitely go again and eat at Deen's next time to have the food as warm as it should be. read more

It took them more than 30 minutes to make one chicken tikka pizza. We even called in advance and they didn't start making it. I do not recommend, the service is horrible With a 10 mins advance notice, it took them an hour for us to receive our order.
