Frank came to our house and gave us a quote for Outdoor lights.  We approved and asked him to proceed with the installation and that is when I realized I was given FALSE information.  The big selling point was - Frank said that he uses LED lights manufactured by AMP (sister company of Volt) which are rated for 10 years (40,000 hours).  However, Frank warrants the lights ONLY for 1 year.  That was a red flag in my mind, but I did not connect the dots at that time.    On the day of installation, the installer Zach showed me the fixtures (see pics attached).  The fixtures with the lights (bullet UL-101 lights and UL-102 lights) were not in a box.  I asked the installer why they were not in a box (are these pre-owned fixtures?).  Zach said they do not get it from their supplier in a box.   Further, the fixtures did not have ANY identification - no manufacturer name, no SKU number... NOTHING.  Only the Chinese knockoff fixtures have NO identification.  Do these fixtures have AMP lights?  The answer is a big NO.   I canceled the installation and gave Frank multiple opportunities to clarify and he continues to be EVASIVE.  Note:  Very cleverly, Frank does not include manufacturer's names on his website....if you think for a minute you would know why....however, we are so busy with our daily activities that we really trust contractors and do not get into these details.       Also, watch out for the reviews for Abulous (many look Fake and Paid for).  If a reviewer has only 1 or 2 reviews and has glowing things to say about your service - it is MOST likely a Fake account!! I see several such reviews for Abulous.   Before you waste your like (like what I did), ask that you want to look at sample fixtures.  Do your due diligence!! read more

We requested quotes from about 6 lighting companies, 4 got back to us, and 2 gave us firm quotes. We liked both, but Abulous was about half the price for the same quality. Frank really makes it easy for you, helping decide where the fixtures need to go, giving an estimate with photos showing a mock up of where all the lights will go so there are no surprises. It was hard to get on their schedule as they were busy with the holiday lighting rush, but they got our install done after a few weeks and came right back the next day to fix a couple of bulbs that weren't working. I've now had Abulous landscape lights at my home for two years and love them! Before the installation, one of my neighbors added Abulous Lights to their home and I certainly noticed. I've been wanting to do the project myself for years. When Frank Hasty (owner) sent postcards to residents on the same street, I picked up the phone. Frank was a pleasure to deal with. He explained the fixtures he uses and worked with me to determine how and where the low-voltage transformer and timer would be located. His proposal was professional - he sent an architectural drawing of my front yard and the exact positions and fixtures he would use. His design recommended some tree uplighting, which wasn't my initial idea, really ended up framing the front of my home. Installation was scheduled around my schedule and his crew was polite and worked hard to do a quality job. The fixtures are high quality LED lamps. Being LEDs, they'll last for 20+ years. The copper is well finished, solid and the lamp is sealed. I went with the programmed timer that Abulous recommends which is set up based on my time zone. It's fully automatic and doesn't require ANY intervention. Really these lights are no maintenance. Recently, I noticed that a lamp was "down". I had some fresh mulch installed, or perhaps the weekly lawn service didn't notice it when they trimmed the shrubs, but it appears the lamp was kicked and separated from the heavy plastic stake that mounts in the ground. I e-mailed Abulous on Sunday not expecting a reply on the weekend and Frank replied with how he could help Sunday evening! These lights illuminate my home, provide that stately look at night, and provide a measure of security. Overall, it's been worth the investment and I strongly recommend Abulous without reservation! read more

Based on an internet search, I hired Frank to tie into the existing landscape lighting at my home. He added and reconfigured about 20 lights, changed a transformer and added a timer I think it took longer than expected and there were a few hiccups but Frank made it right, including coming out on the day of Christmas Eve to correct a few problems.
