Awesome experience from calling and booking my appointment to being seen in office. My daughter is 6 weeks and dr Jon was very sweet and gentle with her . My husband couldn't make it and front staff was super helpful to hold my daughter while I had my adjustment! Also bathroom has changing table with wipes and all diaper sizes available. I found Dr Torrijos after searching for a pregnancy-safe Webster certified chiropractor online. I was in so much pain. Agony, really. My back, my hips, SPD, so on and so on... It sadly took me 31 weeks to finally seek out help. Let me first say - coming here was possibly the BEST thing I did for myself and my baby while pregnant. So entirely worth the investment. I was so nervous to put my health (and the wellness of my pregnancy) in someone's hands - literally. But it paid off big time. I credit this practice with helping me survive the last trimester and have an IDYLLIC delivery. I just wish I'd started coming sooner. Dr Torrijos is fantastic!! And Alex at the front desk is as well! With the regular adjustments I put my body in the best possible position for labor. I ended up having just a 12-hour labor (quite short for a first time mom) and only needed to push for 10 minutes. My pelvis was in tip top shape for passing a baby through it. In comparison, my friends who delivered recently had 24-40 hour labors (2x-3x longer) and pushed for 2-4 HOURS. That alone should make you run to this practice. haha I am now 6 weeks postpartum and am still coming for weekly adjustments and having my newborn adjusted as well. When you think about it, it's physically really intense to be born. Babies were squeezed and tucked in weird positions during their time in utero, followed by delivery... how could they NOT need some chiropractic help?! And my adjustments are helping SIGNIFICANTLY with soreness from carrying/holding my 8 lb babe all day long, and from the posture taken while breastfeeding 3+ hours a day, etc. This is a novel-length review but I genuinely feel like this is a talented physician and an extremely valuable treatment for pregnancy and the postpartum period. Dr. Jon is 2 for 2! I had an amazing experience in 2020 with my son's pregnancy + birth and this time in 2023 with my daughter could not have gone any smoother. This time I started seeing Dr. Jon immediately, at 8 weeks pregnant. Having consistent care the entire time SAVED my body/back/hips/etc. My outcomes speak for themselves... my first birth was only 12 hours with 10-15 minsutes of pushing. This time -- under 6 hours and I experienced the fetal ejection reflex and my BODY pushed her out in under a minute! I spent transition standing in the hot shower and then delivered her on hands + knees. As effortless, relaxed and enjoyable as birth can possibly be. It was a dream come true. And very clear that my entire body was in alignment, which contributed to an easy and comfortable birthing experience. Needless to say, Dr. Jon is my pregnancy + birth holy grail!!! Two weeks ago, at 35 weeks, I went in for my first visit. I could barely "waddle" all day at work and was in some pain throughout the day. My very first visit was life-changing. I got up from the chiro bed a different person. I was able to walk normally and felt a huge relief of tension and aches. They are closed this week for the holidays which I am bummed about but if baby girl is not out by next Monday, I will be back for another adjustment before labor. Started bringing my son to Dr. Jon at 7 weeks for colic, reflux, a neck tilt that he was born with, and overall just a better quality of life. They have been amazing! I also like that he combines a holistic mentality to his medical work. I visited him a couple weeks before my due date and he was very gentle with my adjustments and even recommended an acupuncturist (Ida - who's awesome as well!) to help me work on my overall prepping of my body to welcome my baby. I found Abundant Life from an ad on Instagram, I'm so glad I did! I was 37 weeks pregnant and my baby was still breech. Wanting to try to avoid a c-section, at the last minute, I did some research and decided to try chiropractic treatment to try to get the baby to flip. I was on a tight time line, as my doctor had me scheduled for a c-section. Abundant Life was SO accommodating. I called and they were able to fit me in and scheduled me right away. Knowing my situation, they continued to fit me in their schedule for the rest of my pregnancy In the end, my baby stayed breech and I was not able to avoid the c-section, but I know that going to Abundant Life helped to give me the best chance of avoiding surgery.
