Upon arrival, you'll need to fill out paperwork that includes past medical, any concerns/present issues you're experiencing and that's it. I received my first session today. WOW! WOW! WOW! Amazing. I had the full body adjustment with y-strap. The full body adjustment included huge cracks on my back, neck, ankles, fingers, lower back/hip. The y-strap essentially is a strap that goes around your head/neck and when relaxed the doctor tugs and huge relief/cracks are experienced. I'm thankful for Elevate Chiropractic -- a nice clean facility, professional staff, awesome doctor, and awesome experience! I'll definitely be back.

My grandfather practiced Chinese medicine. I remember as a young child seeing him do acupuncture on himself (it freaked us out lol) and giving us these Chinese herbs and soups to drink. I didn't think much of it in my teens and twenties. When I hit my thirties, I realized its benefits and started seeing my high school friend for acupuncture on a regular basis. It can be used to help with chronic pain, headaches, migraines, arthritis, insomnia, infertility and reducing anxiety. Her studio is far and I ultimately stopped going. I was also experiencing stiff necks and constant knots in my shoulder blades and found a local chiropractor that I saw but also stopped going since the pain subsided with home self care. Over the past decade, I try to maintain myself and have things I do to relieve stress. Lifting weights, walking the trails on a regular basis, stress relieving activities (reading, gardening, coloring, etc.) I've been happy to report those things have worked but now reaching my mid-40s, I need extra assistance. Fun times when I realized my left shoulder couldn't extend back all the way anymore and experiencing more shoulder pains and migraines. After filling out an online form, I showed up to my appointment. The office is hidden from the street but after you park, walk under the arches and you'll see their building with signage. I was taken to my room within minutes. Dr Jennifer Tsai was thorough in asking me questions and explaining everything. I also saw two massage therapists for my neck and shoulder pains. I was given very powerful pain meds (morphine, norco) which offered minimal help at the time, and steriods, which also offered minimal help. I was on Dexamethasone, and Gabapentin, Methocarbamol and Lidocaine patches. The MRI and CAT scan revealed that I had lumbar disc protusions L4-L5 and L5-S1. I attemped PT/OT at the hospital but was too much in pain, I was given a brace, and a walker, and could barely walk, let alone stand for few minutes before the pain would activate and cause severe level 8/10 pain. I knew I needed real help after leaving the hospital, so I searched and searched and found pro performance local, and with tons of positive reviews! I came to Structural Foundation Chiropractic because I had mild lower back pain--about a 3/10 pain. My previous chiropractor had retired, and I was simply looking for a new provider to perform an adjustment. Their advertised $39 new-patient special and convenient location made me decide to give them a try. From the moment I walked in, the experience felt very different from what I was used to. I was greeted by a man who I believed was a doctor, but I'm not sure. I was initially shown to another room then to change into scrubs. Eventually I met with Dr. Emily Bautista. After explaining that I had lower back pain, I was told I needed spinal X-rays shortly after. I wasn't expecting that. I suddenly was being quoted over $100 for X-rays. When I hesitated the staff member who initially greeted me came in and handled the financial discussion. He immediately began lowering the price and continued negotiating until I finally agreed. I didn't feel like I would even be helped by the doctor if I didn't get the x rays done. That alone made me feel uncomfortable and I never needed X-rays to be adjusted before. After the X-rays were taken i received an adjustment but was told I would need to come back to go over the results of my X-Rays. Surprisingly, very little attention was given to the lower back, the reason I came in. Instead, most of the adjustment focused on my neck and shoulders. Before leaving I wasn't really satisfied at all about my time there because the pain I was feeling wasn't targeted. I was already scheduled to return the next day to review my X-rays so I just had hoped things would be better on the next visit. The second visit is where my concerns really escalated. Again, I was greeted by the same guy and brought to another room to watch a video promoting the Gonstead method, which I never heard of. When I was called in to see Dr. Bautista I was told my X-rays showed multiple concerning findings and was warned about future health problems if I didn't commit to their treatment plan. At one point, dark spots visible on my X-rays were described as potentially cancerous, and I was encouraged to pay to have my X-rays sent over to another specialist that they recommended. I declined. The conversation with the Doctor then shifted into a recommendation for months of chiropractic care with multiple visits each month. My comments about working from home and pain when carrying my newborn daughter suddenly became part of a narrative of my future testimonial after long-term treatment. What started as mild lower back discomfort had somehow become a lengthy recovery plan. When I explained that I wasn't interested in committing or signing up for months of appointments and simply wanted treatment for the issue I originally came in for, the guy who works up front, who had apparently been listening from outside the room, opened the door, interrupted the appointment and sent the doctor out of the room to take over the conversation. I once again found myself being encouraged to get on a treatment plan and going over payment. Eventually, I insisted on receiving the adjustment I originally came in for and declined signing up for anything long term. They were both visually upset with my decision. The whole thing felt uncomfortable. When it was time to pay, I was quoted a higher price than what had been discussed previously. After I pointed out the discrepancy, the guy eventually apologized repeatedly, and even began recommending other chiropractors. The most disappointing part wasn't the money, but the whole thing felt uneasy. I understand they use a different method than my previous chiropractor, but respectfully the whole thing felt like a cash grab. I felt like they were only concerned with locking me in for multiple visits month after month. They also don't accept insurance so everything is out of pocket. The day after my adjustment, my lower back pain became dramatically worse. What had been a manageable 3/10 pain increased to roughly an 7/10. I struggled to sleep for weeks afterwards. Nearly a year later, my back is still worse than it was before I ever walked through their doors. Everyone's experience may be different, but mine left me feeling like I had walked into a high-pressured sales presentation instead of a healthcare office. There was far more emphasis on videos, treatment plans, recurring appointments, and additional services than on addressing the relatively minor issue that brought me there. I can't recommend Structural Foundation Chiropractic based on my experience. I went in looking for a simple adjustment for mild back pain. I left over $200 poorer, feeling pressured into services I hadn't planned on, and with back pain that ultimately became far worse than when I arrived.

I was taking back and laid down on a bed with a rolling ball that stretched my spine and a heating pad. It was different and uncomfortable at first but it relaxed me. DrRios came in shortly after and assured he could find out the source of my back pain. After my assessment he adjusted me and stretched me out and told me to follow up in a couple days. My follow up is next week and to be honest I am a lil sore but feel better and have less pain than I usually have.

Dr Rios was so confident and professional telling me I needed to trust the process. He got me on decompression and adjustments. Fast forward ,I trust the process and I am so much better. Everyday is an improvement. His staff is amazing kind and overall heart warming. They make it seem like you have know them for years. I would highly recommend this place.
