i have been debating a response to your quote of $3,400 for a water heater purchase and replacement at my 93 yo fathers home in vancouver which you never inspected prior to quote. Here tiz. I contacted two other well established plumbers in clark county regarding the water heater replacement and installation. The results were: one was $1,200.00 cheaper and one was $750.00 cheaper. I get stuck on this disparity and even get angry. Then I remember the $598.00 you charged us to unclog a kitchen drain at my 93 yo fathers house recently..... for a senior citizen, a veteran, not to mention my repeat customer business for 4 years. Sorry, just not comfortable with this type of treatment in this economy. I have chosen one of the other two plumbers as my go to professional. It's pretty unfortunate. We had this company out to clear a clog in our kitchen/laundry line. The tech, while very pleasant and nice, used various rooters, and spent about three hours attempting to clear the line, but ultimately wasn't able to. We hired another company to come out the next day who used a small rooter and was able to clear the clog in about an hour. read more

We have had them out to replace entire lines that tree roots had destroyed. From the house to the street both both sewer and clean line had to be replaced and of course ran at an angle to the streett Done the day after a call courtesy and a reasonable rate. Even saved my old Japanese maple tree with the care of an arborist. Total cost: $11K Flash a month forward, we are remodeling from the studs and subfloor up due to the flooding of the former. Summit was hired again to install the new shower plumbing, sink plumbinng and toilet flange--which is when we found or corrigated steel was 1/2 filled with gunk that was solid--Vancouver water and 50 year old steel pipes. So the house house was repiped with a new water heater. Total cost $13K In the end, yes everything was reasonably priced. given work that had to be done. Very high quality work, cheerful people, and to see the boss in the thick if a job ; that tells me the quality of the people. I admit, I messed up. I saw an estimate, gulped, said "Holy cow" and then signed it so he could proceed. The work was performed (the plumber was great!) but we paid almost twice what I think we should have for installing a kitchen faucet. We bought the faucet. We paid for the labor. He was there for less than an hour and we were charged almost $600. I should have gotten a second quote, so that's on me. We were not sent a receipt or offered anything in writing. The quote was one line - no itemization - so I am unsure if it was a fixed fee or perhaps the wrong fee charged. When we called the office to inquire, they were fairly defensive and assured us they ONLY PROCEED WITH THE WORK AFTER SOMEONE AUTHORIZES IT. And that they don't charge by the hour but by the service. On the call, she could not provide the normal charge for the service of installing an owner-provided faucet, offered to talk to the owner, but hasn't followed up in 48 hours. We have had them work here before, and everything was clear and in writing. Not so much this time. Will take our business elsewhere. read more

I've waited a year to write this review because I wanted to ensure the job was done right with no recurring issues. Our home is older, and we have a huge, very old tree with roots that had punctured and wrapped around some of the pipes. We had new pipes installed throughout our entire house. Since then, we've had other contractors come out for various projects that required going under the house, and it has been confirmed that the job they did was top-notch. The company came out the same day to evaluate. They came the day after that and finished the job in two days. Throughout the process, the team was very friendly and professional and informative. "The Case of the Hidden Leak" Had a plumbing issue recently, and by the time I figured it was over my head, it was late on a Saturday. I called Summit and left a message but didn't get an answer. So, I sent an email on Sunday. I went to follow up with Summit early Monday morning and, to my surprise, received an email stating they had already scheduled an onsite evaluation for 12:00 pm that day. Very happy with that response and immediate scheduling of the service call. Summit sent out Andrew, a journeyman plumber with 10 years of experience and an all-around nice guy. Andrew listened to my issue, my concerns, and what I thought might be at issue and set about trying to find the source of my problem, a hidden leak. Andrew carefully exposed a couple of pieces of drywall under a bathroom and kitchen cabinet to find the root cause of the leak, a failed wastewater pipe behind the sink. Andrew was able to fabricate a replacement part in his truck, and in short order installed the pipe, remedied the issue, and got us up and running. All in about 3 hours; very timely! I was extremely happy with all aspects of this service call and would recommend Summit and Andrew to my friends and family. I would definitely use them again. read more

Bob, one of the owners, who is a highly experienced, elite plumber promptly repaired the issue within 1 hour. Contacted this company in February about a plumbing job. They were wonderful at responding and assured me that they could help me give me a number to text And a number to call which was great. But after three days of texting and calling no one continue to return my messages I got no further information I got no estimate I got no return contact after that not sure what happened. I could not continue to try and make contact with no response as I really needed help with my plumbing so I was very disappointed I do not know what their skill level is I do not know what their work is like but initially their contact was great if you want to know information about how that work is you will have to check other reviews I was never able to get past initial contact. read more

We had Summit out to see about a backed up kitchen sink and dishwasher. Brandon gave us 2 options and informed us about the consequences of each one. Instead of snaking a long standing problem drain in the crawlspace, he recommended a HydroJett application. It worked really well and left us with well flushed out pipes, instead of just a snake hole through accumulating sludge. It was worth the extra cost and will likely last us a very long time. Thanks to Brandon and Tyler who did all the work. One unforeseen problem is that we were left with a wet, stinky crawlspace and hadn't been told to expect that. We we given a business card for a crawlspace cleaning crew, but that would be even more $$ and the procedure already cost a lot. I had to dry and clean it myself. read more

TL;DR: I had a leak. They came by. Couldn't find it, was wrong about the fix they did try, and then ghosted me. No bueno. Call someone else. I have a leak in my house. When I called, it was creating a wet spot in my carpet. in the hallway. I knew someone had to go in the crawl space and it wasn't going to be me. Pros: They got back to me quickly. They came out the Monday after making an appointment on Saturday. I was able to text instead of playing phone tag. They wore masks and didn't even ask if they could take them off. Story: The techs got there and they were nice. Seemed knowledgeable. They went into my crawl space and after about 20-30 minutes couldn't find a leak. Ok, fine. They said it was because of the lack of sealing on the tub spout in the hall bathroom. Didn't make sense, but they couldn't find anything else and what do I know? I'm not a plumber. They caulked the spout for us. He was nice about it. Said that I had a minor leak in the drain of my master bathroom and that they should come back to fix that so that it didn't get worse. The crawl space and caulking was $230. Without finding the leak. He said he'd send me an estimate later that day and told me the master bath would be about $450. I was even fine with that, due to thinking the leak would be fixed with the caulking he did. Cons: It was not fixed. The leak persisted. I reached out to my previous contact after 2 days and asked for the estimate so I could make the appt for the master bathroom repair. I thought the spot was just still wet, wasn't sure if the leak was still going or not. They got back to me more than 24 hours later, apologized for the delay, and said that she'll get back to me soon. Another day passes, and they said that they followed up with the tech and they are working on the estimate to get it to me soon. I called a few times. I texted again 12 DAYS LATER and have received no response. Called 2 days after that, trying not to be 'that person' and no answer. I tried. I gave several chances and wasn't pestering because I know people don't work 7 days a week, even owners. But it has been almost 3 full weeks since they came by with no estimate, no communication, and no fix to my problem. I called someone else and now leaving this review. Yes, I tried other companies in the meantime and everyone is pretty booked out. Surprisingly. I hope this doesn't happen to someone else. I also hope that Summit sees this and takes the appropriate measures to ensure that it doesn't happen to someone else. Be better, Summit. read more

These guys are the best. I'm a (small) single female and inviting men I do not know into my home can be intimidating and scary. But they kill it. They are professional, kind, do a wonderful job and are incredibly respectful. They always wore masks, let me know what they were doing, why they were doing it and the best way to save a few bucks if I could do something on my own (and then showed me how and what I'd need!) They communicate when they will be coming, show up on time and when I had a meeting while they were at my house, they were understanding and quite. We have been in contact with Summit Plumbing for a few days now regarding our water heater. After our Rheem water heater went out on Thursday evening, we had to deal with an absolute disaster warranty plan. The contracted company previously used was terrible and kept blowing us off (furthermore, still is). Summit Plumbing did everything they could to help us in our emergency replacement/repair (even willing to help on the weekend and after hours)! Finally on Tuesday afternoon, we decided to pay for everything instead of waiting because who can live without hot water?! Adam and Andrew disassembled our water heater, replaced the malfunctioning one from Home Depot/Rheem, and hooked up the new water heater. They were professional, very personable, kind, covid cautious, and wonderful. They made a very bad 5 days much better. Everyone including Alexa, Bob, Andrew and Adam were exceptional. I'm writing this review because they will be the company we go through from now on because they've been nothing but exceptional, affordable, and BEYOND helpful in a pinch. They were kind and courteous through every step of the process. They showed up and worked very hard. Any issues that came up were taken care of swiftly and with grace. I was a bit of a basket case during this remodel due to a lot of major life changing circumstances and these guys did whatever they could to make sure that I was happy with the outcome. Tyler was a so great to work with, very reliable and dependable. He was willing to help me through the process even when it was outside his responsibility. I have never had a contractor that showed up, did the work that I hired them to do, in the time frame that I needed them to do it and not try to charge me more. Super nice guys came over right on time to give an estimate on replacing old galvanized pipe. Went to take a look and informed me that I was good to go- much to my surprise, the piping had been replaced by previous owners! They really took their time and were in no rush even though this was a free consult . Even offered to test the water pressure but I said I did not want to take up any more of their time. I had a leaking frost free spigot. It only leaked (behind foundation)when spigot was on. They accessed it quick, able to fix in under 30 minutes time. The spigot probably costs $50-$60...but charged over $400 for everything which I knew when they gave me an estimate. Rather then try to get more bids or fix myself...I just had them do it. Aside from that, good work but not cheap. Get estimates if you have time. read more
