Burrito was all rice, could hardly see meat $15 burrito that ended up in trash :( Rice was also old, probably day before idk but hard dry and no flavor, same with black beans. Disgusting, sad excuse of Mexican food. Americanized Mexican food at best, but more like bland, bland, and more bland. Spanish rice is more like white rice with orange food coloring, flavorless. It was the aca which is supposed to (used to) be loaded with good veggies but I had like one carrot and one zucchini. I added sour cream and guac so it came to like $14. For 99% rice and beans. I absolutely love Aca Taco. Their burritos are SO delicious and their prices are fairly reasonable. Definitely worth the amount/taste of the food. I have zero complaints about this place besides the fact that you have to have cash. The place had a few stragglers who looked a bit like misplaced hippies with a dash of hipster. I smelled Styrofoam coming from the depths of the establishment. Did a call in order for a torta and 4 mini tacos . person that took my order confirmed mini tacos and nothing hot on torta. When I got there there's a huge line. They only had one register opened. I asked if I could just get my order and they said No you have to wait in line. When I finally got to the register they had my food just setting there the whole time. When I got home there where jalapeños on the torta to spice for me so I can't eat the torta. The 4 mini tacos were full size one,which cost more!! If there was a zero star , that's what I'd give. I've been there quite a few times now and i decided to try other things on the menu other then their tacos which are JUST alright. I ordered enchiladas and I also tried there chicken nachos. The meat was extremely dry and cold. Chips were very sogy and and they are not generous with the amount of toppings they give at all. 80% of the nachos were plain chips. The enchiladas I had were probably the worst enchiladas I've ever tried if I'm being brutally honest. This is definitely one of the best taco joints in Chico, I've actually been here more than a few times for the traditional carne asada burrito and carne asada tacos, plus the delicious Mexican styles rice, it's always good. The staff and service is excellent, the only ding against this restaurant is they don't accept credit cards, so it's cash only but the food and service is good. Everything was clean and nice ladies working to create a delicious meal, also the wait time is usually very reasonable, for the money you will definitely leave with a full belly. There are 2 locations in Chico. One in downtown and this fine gem on Nord Ave. I don't eat on this side of town as much because let's face it, nord Ave is shady. BUT for a late night Mexican food craving this place hit the spot! First off they are open until 3 am on Saturday! Thank god more than just bars are open. We ate the Nacho Special I think it was called and it was $6.50, came with guacamole, cheese, choice of meat, cilantro and sour cream. . . Bomb! And we ordered 2 mini tacos for $1.25 each. They only accept cash, go figure! But they do have an ATM machine inside. Customer service was EXCELLENT and the food was delicious and fresh. I will start coming here more often. First they don't take atm or credit cards you must have cash, they make you use their own atm machine that charges $1.50. The burrito was pretty big flavors wasn't that great, never seen a taqueria charge you for sour cream or cheese but I guess they want to make more money. The al pastor didn't have any flavor. Our first actual Taco spot stop in Chico!! I got the Carne Asada Nachos and my husband got Al pastor tacos. My nachos hit the spot. They were very good and perfectly proportioned. Very fresh. Stop by for a Churro on Sunday and while I was there a family of four showed up. The dad got upset that they don't take debit and has to use the atm inside, then he gets pissed that they have no public restrooms and then gets upset that they don't bring his food to his table.
