This is a hole in the wall but with great food. They catered our daughter's wedding with their taco bar. There was plenty of food. I was disappointed when I came in tonight because i read all the great reviews on this place serving fresh and local ingredients. But I guess I confused "fresh" with "flavorful". My burrito was pretty lackluster (granted I got a vegan burrito) but they could've done a little better with the beans-just tasted like canned-but I shouldn't be a lil bitch because it was cheap. Granted my bf also said his chicken burrito was also pretty bland. This place is open late which is great and the ATM charge isn't too bad, I think my friend said it was $2 fee to deposit cash. This has been one of my favorite burrito spots for over 10 years! It started out as a good spot to hit after a night of drinking and has become a staple in my burrito eating diet. I only wish I had one near me in Sacramento. The pollo (grilled or pollo verde), carne asada or vegetarian burritos are the best. They put the right amount of everything on them and I've never had a bad burrito in all the years I've been coming here. Best burrito north of Sacramento! The burritos are HUGE, the flavor is AMAZING and the prices are GREAT! Every time I am in Chico or just passing through I have to stop and get an Aca Taco burrito. I usually get either the chicken or the al pastor burrito and they are both delicious. It is not a place for a big group of people because the restaurant is very small but that is okay with me. I came here on a Sunday morning for a recovery meal. I ordered an Al pastor burrito to go. The pork was fantastic and made its presence known with a saucy and full flavor. It had a good proportion of ingredients and well balanced. Yet its been hit or miss ever since. The place is clean and well maintained. You get the feeling and assurance that they know what they are doing. Staff is friendly and helpful. The food is always ready pretty quickly. Be sure to add an 8 oz salsa because it rocks. Avoid the $1.50 visa charge and 5% size increase between chico and grande portion. And lets be real, its a $1.50 visa charge, not an ATM because it redirects you straight back to the register you came from. When a standard visa charge is 30 cents tops, this kind of a business behavior is a joke, and I shame the owners for operating this way. Literally just came from there and took my food home, and the order wasn't correct, I asked for sour cream instead of guacamole, But they gave it to me anyway, IM ALLERGIC TO GUACAMOLE! so I called them to let them know and whoever it was that answered the phone was beyond rude, he was like "well what do you want then!??" I enjoy the burritos here! The flavor is great and unique IMO. I got excited how good the prices were but quickly realized adding literally anything, like cheese, is a .50 charge. So, if you're planning on having a burrito that's not just rice beans and meat, these charges add up quickly. Also, for a slightly large sized burrito, it's a whole dollar up change. I still think the foods good and the prices are reasonable, even after all the up-charges. read more

Went to Nord ave. store on a Sunday. The server was taking care of a single male customer and pretty much Ignored me. One of two customers. Ordered a pastor burrito. Again the young man that served me acted like I was a disease. When I took a bite of the burrito its flavor was a bit off. A couple more bites and I knew I could not finish my meal. the location is kind of a hole in the wall on nord next to safeway , next to a bunch of smoke shops and a subway . 1st of i am going to say that they do not take cards , they make you go to this wanna be ATM thing and you swipe your card , and it charges your 2.50 extra for the transaction , when you swipe the wanna be ATM thing does not even give you the money; you have to go back to the cashier and they give you the difference in your purchase or your cash from that .. so if you do not have cash , i do not recommend you visit this place because it is a complete unnecessary hassle .... I ordered a carne asada burrito , its an ok burrito to be completely honest , its nothing too extravagant . Their burritos are pricey as it is and BTW they charge extra for cheese (kinda crap is that) . What kept up the rating was the employee customer service. read more

Their burritos are large and are loaded with fresh ingredients. Their salsas are super flavorful and overall it is a solid Mexican restaurant for Chico. They get -1 star because they only take cash. It's 2016, if you do not accept card then you are going to lose a lot of business. I would go here probably 3 times more often if they took card.
