The concierge staff is always very welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable, which sets the tone to all visits. The facilities are kept immaculate and always has a fresh and clean scent, with no harsh chemical cleaners or institutional type odors. The décor has an Asian flair to it and the common area is always nicely decorated to reflect the current seasons / holidays. The various staff team members that directly cared for our father over the past 12-years, were always kind and compassionate, in addition to their professionalism. As our father's care needs changed through the years, the medical and management teams worked with us to seamlessly adapt to his changing requirements. On many occasions, we had asked our father on how he was being treated, and he always answered that everyone was very nice and kind to him. This added to our trust and confidence in his wonderful care at Aegis Gardens. This facility is led by Emily Poon, Senior General Manager. We have found Emily to always being very receptive and pro-active to any of our concerns; she is very approachable, caring, and professional. As a result, we never had any issues with our father's care at Aegis Gardens in all of these years. Sadly, last month our father entered hospice. At the hospital, our family needed to choose the facility where our father would receive his hospice care. Thankfully, Aegis Gardens was one of the options; we did not hesitate in selecting them. At all times, the Aegis Gardens Health Services Director, Gigi Tamayo and her team kept our family in full communications with any changes in our father. The Aegis Gardens nursing staff who directly cared for our father, provided a high level of compassion, great professional care, and kindness to him, which helped ease the emotional pain in losing our dear father. If we were to do this all over again, our family would not hesitate in selecting Aegis Gardens. The staff and facilities made our family's difficult situation a viable one. No one ever wants to place their elderly family member in an assisted living situation, but many times, there are no other options. Our family consists of seniors, each with our personal health challenges, so we were unable to adequately provide the necessary care that our father required. There are no questions that Aegis Gardens provides that top notched option in a professional, safe, healthy, and caring manner.

COMMON DESTINY IS UNCOMMONLY EXCEPTIONAL!…read more Common Destiny in Fremont excels in every way. I know because after experiencing several other Board & Care Homes settings, my mom received the very best care at Common Destiny. What sets Common Destiny above the rest? A veteran RN is the director of a noticeably dedicated staff. Unlike other homes with only minimal staff living 24/7 on the premises, CD's staff works in shifts and feels refreshed upon return each weekday with another dedicated staff for weekends. This healthy work-life balance yields good fruit: kind and compassionate care for all residents. The Staff diligently follow medical instructions with all medications locked away in a designated place. The Staff also provide individualized service, including routine night-time checks, and assistance with bowel/bladder issues as needed. The RN Owner/Director assesses each incoming resident's medical history and particular needs thoroughly and expertly. Quality home prepared food is served three times each day at regular times. My mom is fairly particular about food, and she gives the Chef a two thumbs up rating! The design and layout boast spacious seating, a large dining area, big screen TV and two expanded gardens that draw an abundance of birds for the nature lovers. In essence, if you desire an exceptional place for your loved one to be well cared for, I heartily recommend Common Destiny Board & Care in Fremont.

The best thing is the owner can speak Mandarin and understands Cantonese. The owner Evelyn is a nurse herself, and was able to talk to our doctors using medical terms only they can understand whenever something happened to my dad. The other caregivers are not Chinese speakers but definitely are caring to their patients. Nora is there all day and treats the patients as if they are her own parents. This job is not easy and not just anyone can do it. You can pay me 6 or 7 figures $$$ but I will have to decline. This job takes a lot of TLC and patience. To see what the patients go through is hard on anyone. Evelyn and staff are there to help the patient and the family out so we can go about our daily lives knowing our love ones are well taken care of.

She was compassionate, understanding, and knowledgeable. She not only shared how Feemont Hills could provide comfort for my mom, but she also provided comfort and care for my sisters and I as care takers. Especially when dealing with a disabled seniors, thus risking the senior's safety and sense of comfort. There has been at least one time when mistakes and accidents happen where the caretakers won't even report it to their manager and the only way you find out is your loved one informing you. It seems like they are ill equipped in handling larger/heavier adults i.e no equipment and no one on staff physically strong enough to assist should that person fall. We have been very open and honest with our concerns with them from the start yet given the time frame, we have not yet received resolutions in a timely manner. Follow up is absent. My family will continue to express concerns in hope for accountability and resolution. One very good thing is the med tech is very on point in ensuring medication is properly dispensed and on time.
