It's a nice place. My child had a good first week no complaints whatsoever except for the first day. We had no real direction of how to get into the facility, and didn't know we had to enter through the back. No one was at the office when we arrived and walked aimlessly until a parent let us in and told us how to enter next time with our code. I started looking for preschools back when my son was still an infant, and I am so glad BESA was my first choice! This school goes above and beyond to provide appropriate, individualized care for every child. They offer every opportunity for children to receive high quality learning experiences and diverse cultures. Their teachers are also incredibly knowledgable about child development which is surprisingly rare among preschools. My son has been attending since early 2022, and he has grown in so many ways! We are a primarily English and Vietnamese speaking home, so it has been really cool to watch him also learn and utilize Spanish on a regular basis due to his education at BESA. He also has a strong desire to learn to read, and his gross motor skills have come such a long way because of the daily opportunities he gets to run outside and play with peers! He also used to be a very picky eater, but since attending BESA he has begun to expand his palate and will try just about anything. He has also cultivated a love and appreciation for animals and nature itself, I believe due to his time in and around the school garden and its bunnies. During apple season, he would come home almost every day with an apple from the tree in their play yard. Green apples are now his absolute favorite fruit! BESA does accept subsidized care which has been a godsend. I thought because I could not afford preschool on my own, my son's educational opportunities would be limited. Not only has my son learned and grown so much (showing off the yoga, Spanish, math, and letters he learns daily), but BESA has also championed ME as a mom and human being! Their support has encouraged and allowed me to return to school and work which has given our family the chance it deserves to grow as a whole. Finally (though I could go on and on), I am grateful for their support of my family's unique parenting experience. My son's dad lives out of state, and we include bonus mama in our parenting decisions. BESA has gone above and beyond to make all three of us feel like equal partners in our son's education and development. They have been responsive and supportive each time we hit a behavioral challenge with our son, and they have been great with ensuring we are all involved and informed with their next steps as well as genuinely asking how they can support practices we already have at home. BESA really does intentionally hit all the parts of their name. High quality bilingual education, appreciation and cultivation of environmental science, intentional incorporation of all the arts (dance, music, visual, etc), which have supported academic development and absolute thriving socioemotional growth. Grateful to BESA in so many ways. If you're considering attending or getting on the waitlist, do NOT wait. My daughter started with Besa the day she turned 3 she will soon be 5! I am a first time mama and was so worried about where to send her. I did so much research and wanted somewhere that was bilingual. When I found Besa and saw all they had to offer and how diverse they were I was hooked. My daughter and I were able to do a class with Mrs Zavala to see how it was and I loved it and she was able to stay with Ms Zavala! My daughter is now with Ms Diana in TK and I couldn't be happier with all her progress in understanding, speaking and her writing skills in both english and spanish. My daughter has been attending the BESA School since June 2021 and I couldn't be happier with our experience with the school and the teachers. It was exactly what my husband and I were looking for when searching for a school/daycare for our 2 year old daughter. My son started preschool here at the end of August. I was very worried about enrolling him in school during the pandemic but I felt like what he could take out of the program would be worth the risk. His Grandmother and caretaker, who was very against enrolling him, has noticed his positive behavioral changes. He has become a better listener, he puts his toys away without being asked to, he plays well with his cousin (prior to preschool they would fight over toys everyday). Additionally, I have seen a great improvement in his Spanish vocabulary and willingness to respond back in Spanish. I toured several schools two weeks ago and this is one of them. I did not like that for the high tuition the school does not serve a lunch. Also, the infant classroom is very small and it feels cluttered to me. They have very tiny rooms that were converted from a house then suddenly their church classroom is very big. The director was nice but I don't think the space my child will be in and services they offered was a good value to their high tuition. read more

I am so glad we found BESA. It has been the best decision my wife and I have made for the growth of our daughter. Since she started more than a year ago, I feel like she communicates so much more. I love getting compliments from family and friends on how much and how well she can speak. She surprises everyone on how much she knows, being only 3. She learns so much at school and is so well taken care of by the staff. The food is healthy and helps a lot that all meals are included so I don't have to pack her lunch and snacks. I can't say enough good things about this place. My daughter loves going to school, she loves her teachers , she looks forward to going to school every day. The teachers are so kind to the students they stick to their schedules and give the children a sense of routine and security. My take on the Covid protocols is that they take exceptional precautions. I have a background in child development and psychology and have known for a long time what type of educational environment I wanted my child to learn in. I wanted an environment that was structured, but also offered freedom and self-exploration. I also wanted teachers who were kind, patient, warm and supportive. In BESA, I think we've found it! We are so thrilled to be a part of the BESA school! Throughout our research for daycare, we kept coming back to BESA. We quickly put our daughters name down for waitlist when we were pregnant and she was able to start right when I resumed work when she turned 4 months. Our son has been attending BESA since he was 13 months old. We were struggling to find a daycare program we could trust and spent several months researching different daycares. Finally, a friend recommended the infant program to us at BESA, and from the moment we toured the school, we knew this was the daycare for him! The teachers (currently Ms. Priscilla and Ms. Nancy) are patient, loving and caring, and speak to him in English and Spanish. They are very organized with their curriculum and the kids are always learning and having fun, whether it be in the school garden or engaging with hands-on and interactive projects/activities. The BESA school is absolutely wonderful! I have two children enrolled there, ages 3.5 and 5.5. We drive up from Long Beach because we love the school so much. My younger son is in the Little Scientists class with Ms. Sanchez, and my older daughter is in the Little Engineers class with Ms. Betancourt. Both teachers are phenomenal--they genuinely care about the kids and make learning fun! My son taught me about the forest subfloor and canopy recently, and my daughter conducts her own science experiments in which she "writes down my observations." My daughter is technically in kindergarten, and the teachers do special things with her to make sure she is on track for first grade next year. The bilingual curriculum is one of the many reasons we chose the school. My kiddos are learning more and more Spanish every day, and they celebrate a variety of cultures and holidays. I also love that they get to be outside most of the day. They also learn dance and music! Having a chef on staff who cooks them meals every day is worth its weight in gold. My kids come home telling me they tried enchiladas--I could never get them to try my enchiladas! I appreciate that they make the school so accessible for working parents, too. Their hours are 7am-6pm, there are several schedule options, and they are in school year-round. I work half-time from home, so I have my kids enrolled in the half-day program. BESA is an amazing school! I am so elated to have found a school where my kids are not only cared for and loved, but also taught high standards. My twins are 5 years old and love going to school every day. They even are disappointed when it's the weekend. Being a teacher I was looking for a place that would have them prepared for Kindergarten. They not only are ready, but I'm sure are exceeding the standards for Kindergarten. They have a wonderful way of teaching high-level learning in a fun and engaging way. There is a teaching emphasis on Environmental Science and Bilingual Spanish/English, but also teach P.E ,Math, Social Studies, Nutrition, Music and Art. Mrs. Robinson and Mrs. Perez are awesome teachers who are always professional, but also caring and personable at the same time. I can see all of the hard-work they put in to making the program successful. I'm so happy to see a need for this type of school in my area being fulfilled solidly.
