My son attended TLC Norwalk for a year. He's very shy and takes a while to open up. He was in Rm. 5 with Mrs. Nicole and Mrs. Reham. From day 1 they always made sure my son was comfortable and felt safe in his new environment. They helped him transition from daycare to preschool and we are very grateful for finding this school. The teachers at this school are very nice and attentive, even those from the other classes. I've observed other teachers with my son's class and the younger classes. Our now 4 year old has been at TLC for a year already and has had the BEST experience. The way the staff treats all of their students and the fun & engaging learning opportunities they create are evidence of how invested they are in their students' development. I am especially thankful to Ms. Yvette for how much our son has grown emotionally and academically this year. His academic knowledge, ability to navigate peer relationships, and writing stamina have all improved immensely and we have her and Ms Viri to thank. I know he is prepared for the next stage in his life because of them and the hard work they have put in into planning lessons, creating routines and structures, as well as creating a nurturing and loving environment for all their students. I did a virtual tour with this school. That was the first red flag for me. they refuse to do in person tours due to "safety concerns" I feel so bad for the kids who do attend here...the parents need to advocate for their children. Also everything was going great on the tour until I mentioned my 2 year old sometimes will hit (like any other 2 year old) then she suddenly changed her tone and said a smaller class size will be better for him, she basically discriminated against him by trying to brush it off... I'm glad I got brushed off by her because I want understanding and compassionate teachers with my son. He's now enrolled in another preschool and is doing great. No issues at all. Going on 3 years at this daycare preschool and I am still exceptionally pleased with our oldest daughter's experience here. My 2nd daughter who turned 2 last summer started as soon as she was able and we have also been very happy with her development here. I also have to give a shout out to our school for being open for us parents who need them for care during this pandemic. Even though it didn't make financial sense for them to stay open when the quarantine started, they did so to help us parents who still needed to work. I have heard from many friends that their daycare preschools closed leaving them stranded without childcare. Not TLC! They are the best school ever! I recently started looking into programs for my 3 year old daughter. We had her in day care when she was 1.5 yo and 8 hours later, she got a bad diaper rash. I as a mom developed PTSD from that experience. My husband found TLC via yelp. I wasn't all that into it to be honest but I agreed to schedule a tour. Ms. Nicole met us around 6pm and provided us with a tour. I loved how there are security gates that require a code for entry. This was comforting. Clean bathrooms though the classroom buildings were old. since they just had open house, a lot of the art projects were still up. Many of the little kids that currently attend all left happily holding their parents hands at the end of the day (also comforting). Ms Nicole informed me they rent the classroom from the church and they even have a church day where they read bible stories and pray. I am not that religious but I do love this regimen. Ms Nicole broke down the daily schedule for me and it seemed very well planned. The hours are amazing, 6-630p. Your child can literally stay there all day if you are a working parent. All the teachers I encountered truly loved their job and I felt quite happy with my experience. I had Ms Nicole provide me with part time and full time rate. I informed her I would have to run it by my current sitter since she is also a friend before a final decision is made. Unfortunately, my friend/sitter would have to take a pay cut if we enrolled my oldest daughter here and as of now, she couldn't afford it. I spoke to Ms. Nicole to inform her we would be aiming to enroll both my current one year old at age of two and my 3+ year old next year in July. Stay away!! This place is no longer safe. Kids are being abused by Madyson and the Admin Blanca just looks the other way. Back story: My 6 year Zack attended this daycare from 2021-2023.. It was bliss. I should have seen the red flags from administration then though when both of his teachers quit in the same week. Two new teachers took over and out of those 2 only one stayed, Ms. Desery who ended up switching to the toddler class. So again, two more teachers came and took over. They showed their incompetence early on. One ended up leaving and the one left was the worst one (Madyson) Luckily my son moved up to the 5 year old class with Ms Nikole and Ms. Reiham. They are both wonderful teachers. Fast forward to last year April 2023, my youngest now begins attending this daycare and is in the 2 year old class with Ms. Marilyn and Ms. Desery. They are amazing. He went from not speaking to speaking full on descriptive sentences. The problem began when Madyson was made a floater and is not interacting with all the kids while she's covering breaks. I felt targeted by her because I had previously spoken up about the way she handled the kids I would sit in my car and watch her being rough with the kids while they were outside playing. I could only imagine how she was indoors. My son Myles loved going to school. From a few months ago to now he's been terrified. Things got really bad when unfortunately Ms. Marilyn had to take time off. So now Madyson is spending more time in my son's class. My son sees Madyson and screams in fear. Unfortunately, I have to work and I have left him crying. I spoke with the admin Blanca, she assured me Madyson was not going to be around my son except while covering lunch breaks and by that time the kids are napping. She even stated that they've had to work with her a lot because she does not know how to deal with kids. Mind blowing! So why is this lady still around the kids she can't handle. My son finally said that she hits him in the head and tells him "pao pao" which is a phrase to signify a spanking. I don't use that phrase and I believe my son. He is not the only one saying a teacher hits him. To all these complaints from myself and other parents, Blanca looks the other way and blames us, the parents. I emailed the company email last Tuesday to disenroll my son and explaining everything and to this day I have not received a call or reply from anyone. I'm baffled of how they both continue to be there. I have contacted California Child Care Licensing to file a complaint. Who knows if they will find anything since there aren't any cameras inside the classrooms. . I hope this helps a parent. Please believe your kids. There are cruel people out there. read more

We love TLC! As a teacher myself, choosing where my son would go to for preschool was a very important decision. Early childhood education is the foundation to his future. I chose TLC after falling in love when I took a tour, and from word of mouth from colleagues that have sent their children to TLC. My son has been going there for 8 months now and we couldn't be happier. It is truly a loving community. Every teacher whether I know them or not greets my son by name and makes him feel acknowledged and welcomed. He has learned so much with his two amazing teachers, Ms. Amy and Ms. Viri. They both are patient, loving, and fun. Whenever I talk Ms. Amy, I instantly am calm and the students feed off her positive energy. I watch the way they interact with my child as well as the other children and as a parent I feel at ease that he is in loving arms. I am excited to see how his developmental skills will grow in the next year. I love that TLC has special events throughout the year and educational field trips. There are different daily extra curricular activities during the week like Music Class, Sports Ball day and Webby dance! Ms. Blanca the director is so kind, easy to talk to and very understanding. When I drop off in the morning, Ms. Yvette has the biggest smile on her face. What a great way to start the day. When I pick up, Ms. Nicole is so engaged, energetic and friendly. Ms. Madyson always has fun conversations with my son when we pass by. There are other wonderful teachers that I don't get to interact with, but I know all the teachers together make TLC such a loving school. My son asks every morning if it is a school day which means I know he is having the best time there. We were so blessed to have found TLC a few years back. Our first teacher was Ms Ariana. She has such a bubbly and fun personality. She helped our son flourish, and open up. And she helped us with potty training!!! Ms Christina, she was the room 2 teacher and morning drop off. She made me feel comfortable during drop offs. Because I knew she was able to comfort my son if he was having a rough morning. Between her and Ms Ariana, morning drop offs always went smoothly. Ms Nikole, she has always updated us with any and all information pertaining to our little guy. From good days to bad days. She communicated very well with us. She had many activities and ensured our Child understood what was being taught. She has always been so loving, and my son LOVES HER! Ms Amy, no longer works here but we loved her kindness and compassionate care. She had such a loving personality, and always made sure to greet Sebas with a BIG smile on her face. Ms Yvette, she was never actually one of my sons teachers, but when she was part of morning drop offs she always talked to sebas with such a calm manner, and made sure to ask if he ate, or needed to eat. Ms Tamia, I recently met miss tamia, during my late drop offs. (Which were a little more time consuming and difficult than morning drop offs.) But she was so patient with sebas and I. Even when it took 20 minutes to get him into the classroom, cause he wanted to be silly instead. She never rushed us, and would play with Sebas to convince him to get inside. Ms Blanca, we couldn't ask for a better director. She has 5 classrooms, probably close to 100 students. But she knows every single child by name. She remembers little details, and always has time to chat. All these teachers are amazing (I could go on and on about them). They have all in some way or another helped shape my little guy. They helped get him ready for kinder. He left here knowing almost all 100 sight words, how to count, how to add and subtract, shapes, hows to read small sentences. Still absolutely love this daycare. Our baby moved to another group now due to her age (turned 3) and being potty trained. I love how she sings alphabet song and other songs; knows the concept of the weekdays; traces her name and other letters; easily counts to 20; understands the concept of her privacy; super independent; dances with any music; easily makes new friends; and so on. Although, she became more preserved this year, I believe its age-appropriate changes in her personality, she still made ton of new friends in her new class with Miss Christina and Miss Amy. They are both so wonderful - loving, caring, and professional! Dana tells me all about her day in the evenings daily, and they seem to keep the kids busy daily with some stimulating activities. My child's vocabulary expanded tremendously in this new group, I believe due to more advanced (age-wise) education. I am amazed that my child still doesn't say even a single cussing word (we, don't use foul language ourselves either at home) - it shows me how mediating the Teachers are about what goes around with children. TLC Learning Center has been part of me and my son's lives for the past 4 years (2018-2022) and our lives have been better ever since. As a single mom, fluctuating between full time student and a full time job, TLC has never failed to be there for my son in his physical, emotional and academic needs. As a parent, I am beyond grateful for the support that the entire staff brings to us and the community. Receiving financial assistance from the City of Norwalk and their Stage 1 program gave me the economic support that was needed to provide top care and education for my son. Before the pandemic hit, my son and I were able to participate, through TLC, in exciting and educational field trips and activities that made a huge impact in our lives. TLC allowed my son and I to make fun memories both inside and outside the classroom. Memories that continue to put warm smiles and laughter to our faces. I always admired and respected the staff at TLC but my love and appreciation grew for them even more as the pandemic hit. I saw their resilience, passion, care and courage as they were there for my son (and many other children) as I navigated through work, school and a time consuming custody battle. As a survivor of domestic violence, being a single mom and doing my part to get ahead in life, I knew that TLC would be there for us through life changes and academic support. To this day, their loyalty to my son and other students is considered heroic. Without this program, I know I would not be where I am today. They have had my back as a parent and have poured out their hearts by keeping them safe and have had amazing communication through it all. Every teacher he's been with - whether it's been behavioral issues, tantrums, therapy and life struggles/changes - has always made us feel valued, seen, safe, important, loved and part of a family that has the best interest for my son. Parents, especially single parents, long for a community and other healthy positive adults in your childs' upbringing. At TLC, I have received overwhelming support from all the staff including Director, Blanca Aponte (Ms. Blanca). Words such as grateful and thankful do not justify feeling blessed by the resources that help the community and individuals like me who feel like they are sometimes alone. As I finish my degree at CSULB this Fall, and as I prepare for my son's Pre- K graduation, their support and passion remain the same, during and after the pandemic. We may not have the adventurous field trips or "pre pandemic" activities, but TLC staff continues to be a safe and professional setting for my son. They bring adventure, excitement, values, education, passion and love to all their students. TLC Learning Center made an impact in our lives which we will carry and cherish with us forever. I love this place! I love Miss Yvette and her teacher Aid. My son is barely on his second week and he already loves it. He's 3 started the first two days crying but the teacher sent me updates and pictures on the app they use showing that he was ok and having fun. In only two weeks my son looks forward to going to school. The teacher is super friendly and you can tell their learning curriculum is amazing. Not just that the class rooms are super clean. I am truly happy and pleased that I found TLC Learning Center when I did. My daughter was two and a half when she started attending, she is now 5 and just graduated from their preK class. Therefore the following review is solely on my overall experience. Ms. Blanca gave me a tour of the facility, she showed me the classrooms and the children's playing areas. She informed me of what the children's days would consist of. Ms. Blanca was very polite and caring, she answered all my questions and concerns. Reassured me that my daughter would be in good hands. Let me tell you that she kept true to her word. Ms. Blanca is an outstanding director who is dedicated and extremely attentive to all the children's needs. Her job is never ending most of us parents constantly need her presence and guidance lol. We ask her a million question on a daily basis, specially when the children have any upcoming events. I couldn't thank Ms. blanca enough for always being patient and understanding! Camila started off in Ms. Kim's class where she learned her colors and animals. Ms. Kim is such a sweet & caring teacher her class mainly addressed potty-training and separation anxiety(mainly for me as a parent). My daughter did great letting go, didn't even cry when I left her on the first day lol. Ms. Kim kept constant communication with me and would let me know how my daughters day went when I would pick her up. Camila moved on to the second class room with Ms. Evelyn. There she learned about the importance of sharing and being kind to everyone. She also learned her shapes and ABCs. After that Camila went to Ms. Nora's class (which is now Ms. Joyce's class). While being with Ms. Nora Camila learned recognizing & counting numbers up to 20. Ms. Nora's class helped my daughter find her natural interests as she had multiple activities that allowed her to explore other options. I cannot say enough about Ms. Nora, my daughter absolutely loves her! She has been patient, kind and loving but most important crucial to my daughters early childhood education. Finally Camila moved on to "the big class". This is the PreK classroom, where the children get prepared for Kindergarten. They are given a homework packet every Monday which is due on Friday's. They focus on sight words, spelling, reading, counting, how to write & spell their full names. My daughter learned to count up to 100! As well as spelling and writing her full name. Her writing is extremely legible and neat! My daughter learned this and so much more! This classroom consists of 3 teachers: Ms. Amy who is super sweet, loving & joyful with the children. Ms. Lina who has been extremely amiable, creative & diligent with the children. Ms. Nora who is approachable, fair, knowledgeable & cheerful with the children. I cannot forget about Ms. Jackie(the cook) lol. Throughout the years that my daughter has attend here I never worried about what she would eat or snack on. Ms. Jackie is constantly cooking fresh, healthy and delicious meals for all the children. Enrolling her in here was the best decision ever. All the staff is very hands on with the children. They offer tae kwon do, music class, summer & fall field trips. Best of all their christmas shows and graduation ceremony's are something to look forward to as they are one of a kind. This is an excellent preschool... I enrolled my son at age 2.5 in Ms. Ariana's class. She is a really warm person and took care of my son as long as it took him to get comfortable. To those wondering whether to enroll your children here- YES. To the staff that works at TLC - everyone, thank you for being amazing at what you do and being great to all the kids. My son has been here since he was 2, and every single teacher he has had has been a great role model and teacher to him. It is like a little school, they do work, go on field trips, have homework (when they are of age), they learn so much here I can't believe he is as smart as he is and not even in kinder yet. Ms. Blanca the director is the best! She's always here when needed, she always responds whether I would text or call her. She is very attentive to the children and parents. She genuinely cares and I'm eternally grateful. Anytime I did have a concern about anything she'd address it right away, she never made me feel as if my concerns weren't valid no matter how small they were. I've even bugged her and cried to her about personal things and she even would take the time to hear me and talk to me. This place has been a godsend. My daughter attended TLC for 3 years. She is the first child that I needed to send to daycare so it was scary looking for a good place to take her. From the second I met Mrs. Blanca, the school director, she put my mind at ease and I knew this was the place for my daughter to go. I never once regret that decision. I love the staff here my 2 and a half year old went from being a covid baby (home 24/7) to a completely new environment with kids and a new adults.  It took her a bit (3 weeks) to adjust but the teachers and staff were great . I believe that it takes a village to raise one child. TLC became that village for my daughter. The staff works together, and watches for all students. Along with focus on education, they also focused on socialization and emotional health: caring for yourself like eating healthy and exercising, caring for and working well with others, being a voice for the voiceless like animals and environment. They teach through play, hands-on, and engaging with the world around them. The implementation of Christain values has strengthen her spiritual health too. Cant say I love this school anymore. All activities for families to join are before 5pm and if you are a working parent its tough to make it all the time. They use an app for messages as well as a file box in the classrooms for communication but some stuff they dont mention until last minute so its hard to rush to get ready for the activity. In the afternoon all the kids are mixed together. My 3 n a half yr old daughter has been at this school for about a year, my 5 yr old daughter came for the summer weeks. Pros: the hours are 6-630pm, they have good meals for the kids, the teachers are nice, there is a code gate now at entrance, there is a schedule of daily activities. Not costly. Webby dance is there. Cons: family activities are within daytime working hours, so we have to miss work to attend or else your kid may feel left out, some activities are not told in advance so its stressful being rushed as a parent. i had to go back home a couple times to bring something for my child, due to poor communication. Also, worst part in my opinion, a couple young kids have not-so-great attitudes, my husband witnessed a child hitting and yelling at the teacher, another child we witnessed saying 'what the heck' and another child yelling 'no' many times to the teacher. Im not sure about how they discipline kids at the school. They talk about the activities but i hardly hear much about the school/daycares tolerance and discipline. My child came home one day copying some of these bad habits. I feel really uncomfortable not knowing how they discipline and am disturbed about what my husband witnessed when he picked up our daughter a week or two ago. So quickly, we had to make the decision to take her to another daycare. In response to the administrator: Friday, I spoke to Ms. Blanca and Miss Ariana and they did not really try to keep my 3 year old at your school. They just apologized and said they disenrolled 2 children. Ms. Blanca said to me, 'Oh, u will find a kid like this in every school.' So I left with a feeling they didnt care much. With 3 young girls, this is not a settling feeling. As well as Ms. Ariana knows I am a busy working mom and my husband works longer hours than I do. She tries her best to tell me things. But, important things like make-up picture day she doesnt tell me. She says everything is on the app or in the folders. I know this makeup picture day was not mentioned. And she knew we were out of the country on a family vacation for 2 weeks. Little things like this (poor communication) has built up over the year and for us parents working and have other children, simple events like this takes a toll on us. But that litttle girl hitting the teacher and yelling at her was what made us decide to take her out. read more

TLC are the reason we decided to move to the area. When we move to California our first and most important decision was to find a preschool for my daughters. Ms. Blanca and her staff have become our family. Words cannot express the thanks that my family has for each of the TLC staff members for the past 3 years. I LOVE this school! By far the best part of this school and entire experience has been my daughter's teacher, Ms. Ariana. My daughter started at age 2 after me exclusively staying home with her. Ms. Ariana was so kind, patient, loving, communicative with me and entirely supportive. She helped make my daughter's first impression of school and teachers so wonderful!! she was truly a blessing and made this experience so much easier and enjoyable for me and my daughter. She put my mind at ease and made me feel so comfortable and supported!! My daughter is now 3 1/2 years old and thriving. She's struggled so much with being sick all the time, having to be in and out of school, Covid, then me going back to work. Ms. Ariana helped us through so many transitions. In addition to the school being well organized, creative, nurturing and educational, they also have a fantastic staff at all levels! They offer so much support! I highly recommend this school and thank them and especially Ms. Ariana for all the dedication and kindness we received. She was more than what we could have ever hoped for! When it came time to enroll my daughter in daycare/early start, we decided to go with TLC because of all the positive reviews we had found. Needless to say they were all right. My daughter loves going to school, learning new things, and playing with her friends. She began with Ms. Ariana and is now in Ms. Yvette's class. Both of her teachers have been great, helpful, informative, and attentive to my daughter. TLC staff is amazing, and my wife and I couldn't be more thankful to them. We have decided to keep my daughter here until she transitions to kindergarten, and have already enrolled my 1 year old son to begin as soon as he turns 2. So this review is so hard for me to write, because when I think about what a blessing the TLC Learning Center has been to me, it almost brings me to tears. I had so many fears about leaving my daughter at day care. I had no idea where I should take her so I started researching and found out about TLC. I toured the school and met with Miss Blanca. I liked her immediately and so did my daughter. I came to find out that my older sister had her granddaughter at TLC when she had custody of her. We got to talking about the school and she couldn't say enough wonderful things about them. I was sold. We we so blessed that my daughter could start right away. And it has been just wonderful. My daughter LOVES her school, her teacher, and her friends. I am NEVER worried about her while I'm at work. The hours are from 6:30 to 6:30 so I dont stress about being late to work or to pick her up. Let's talk about the staff: Miss Jackie cooks for the children every day. My daughter who is constantly trying to eat something, is well fed. And she eats things that Miss Jackie prepares and won't eat the same things at home! I guess I need cooking lessons from Miss Jackie. Miss Amy was my daughter's first teacher. She was so kind and patient with the children. She worked with my daughter to get her up to speed with her letters and numbers. One of my daughter's favorite dolls is named "Miss Amy". When my daughter hurt her finger, Miss Amy called me and let me know, then stayed until I arrived to explain exactly what happened Miss Nora and Miss Lina are her teachers now. She surprises me all the time with the things she is learning. They are super patient and do a great job with the discipline. (My daughter gets a little ahead of herself sometimes). All I can say is, these women were born to work with children. It's their gift. Miss Blanca is the director. She is tireless in her work with and for the children. Not only does she run the school smoothly, she is there for the parents as well. She has loads of experience working with children. I've had so many conversations where Miss Blanca has helped me and gave me good advice. And I have also had other personal situations involving my daughter where documentation and extensive correspondence was required and she helped with that as well, swiftly and professionally. Miss Kim does after school care. She is also a kind and sweet lady that my daughter adores. She's attentive and makes sure the children are well fed and occupied until the parents arrive. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Having a safe place to leave my child with kind competent people gives me peace of mind that is priceless. Thanks TLC family! read more
