Update:08-24-2022 I…read morehave been working for an entire month to get my billing correct! It appears that they just plug numbers in after you prove that what they're charging you is incorrect they will then change your billing and add something extra in so they're tip is to make as much money as they can for their mistakes. I am counseling all of my surgeries and finding somebody else to do this who has hopefully a better billing system. This billing system appears to be fraud and I am going to be reporting it to the better Business bureau and elsewhere. I am a diabetic and I am having diabetic exam and according to Humana my co-payment is zero. I did explain and they said if you don't pay the co-payment there's a $5 fee added to it. When I got down to the Carolina eye associates Pinehurst there was quite a delay and discussion about the $50 plus $5 that I owe and convenience fee from their office located in Albemarle NC. I once again explain to them that my insurance covers at a zero co-payment. I had the insurance company on the phone and they ignored the insurance representative and said that they would figure it out if there's been a mistake. The staff in billing refused to speak with the insurance representative. I was shocked!! I also had a witness to these events. I'd recommend some other practice that has a decent billing dept. Majority of their staff are rude. Spoke to initial staff before day of appointment. Need a lot of improvement there as well. Please hire above average intelligent people it would be less stressful. If anyone wants to know what I mean by that I will happy to explain!

The conversation was uncalled for, in fact, I ignored him for the first few minutes. He insisted that he provides services for my mother, she lives in Mexico and he still said I was wrong. He does not know how to accept facts and does not believe his patients. His judgment is poor since he assumed that talking to me about his personal frustrations was appropriate for the setting. I consider him unethical and incompetent. He should stop practicing since his personal ideas keep him from being professional.
