The weirdest and most interesting way to book a class. I found them on Meetup and decided to give…read morethem a try. I went to their website to sign up for a YouTube equipment class. Their website didn't disclose the exact address so I was kinda nervous and hesitant. It seemed kinda silly that they email address to enrolled students only but - what could go wrong? - I thought so I signed up. I received a confirmation email from their team but got no address. They told me they would email me the exact location a few days before the class starts. I kinda panicked and convinced myself that this was a total scam. I thought I had lost my money. I didn't even bother emailing them back. A few days later they sent me an another email with the address for the class along with the details like where I needed to park. They apologized for emailing me late and explained that they were a startup building in-person classes, Airbnb style. It was a big relief to know that my money didn't go down the drain! On the day of the class, I drove to the address they sent me and followed the exact steps. Once I arrived, I found a group of people waiting for the class to start. After a while, the photography instructor (Atif) welcomed us all and began teaching like we were in a casual college classroom. He was super nice and gave us all the chance to ask our questions about recording videos on YouTube. At the end of the class, they handed over a feedback form and asked us questions about how they can improve. Now that's called adventure!! I thought they only offered videography and photography classes but I got to know that they also offer other skill classes like cooking classes, fitness classes, coding classes, writing classes, and music classes. Not sure how they're managing to host all these classes but I personally loved the overall experience! The only thing is, I wish they disclose the exact location right after you enroll, instead of having to wait for the email. Other than that, it was a fabulous experience! Looking forward for their cooking classes :)

My favorite class was a videography class on how to record videos with a DSLR camera. My first…read moreclass at Hekob was a knife skills cooking class taught by professor Russell. I love how these classes are super affordable (paid $37 for the cooking class and $30 for the videography class). Instructors are legit! I highly recommend Hekob to anyone that wants to learn a new skill.

I've been going to Ly's studios for a few years now. I started in pole L1/2, now attend L2/3, and…read morehave taken some silks L1/2 classes. I've attended classes with Ly, Yisha, Jane, Yoko, Jo, Katya, and some other guest and sub instructors. There are a variety of classes offered for a fair price point. Each instructor has their own teaching style, but they all focus on student success and encouragement. I originally started pole dancing as a way to honor myself and my body, and with the help of the instructors, I've gained a level of self confidence that I never had. If I ever need to cancel class, Ly always checks to make sure I'm okay and asks if I need anything. Even though she has a lot of students, she's very caring and mindful of each individual. The classes are structured with a warm up, the instruction and practice, time to record/practice independently, and a cool down. The instructors provide hands on spotting throughout class and will walk you through any move to ensure safe techniques to avoid injury or troubleshoot if a move isn't working for you. Instructors will also provide simpler or more advanced variations of one move to ensure access and a challenge for each student. I am a pretty sensitive and shy person, but the community at this studio helps me break out of my comfort zone with a lot of positive encouragement. I highly recommend Ly's pole studio for your aerial arts journey.

I took two aerial silks classes here with Asia a while back, and it was awful…read more For my first class (Aerial Silks Level 2), I came prepared and trimmed my fingernails beforehand, as this studio requires it. Upon arrival, the instructor inspected my nails, handed me a nail clipper, and told me to cut them even shorter. I've trained at multiple studios, including Circus Center in SF, and have never had this requirement taken to this extreme. The studio uses an aerial rig that requires tying on a frame, and when I didn't know how to adjust the silks, the instructor seemed annoyed at having to explain it. During the class, she demonstrated a silks sequence twice, expected us to follow, and when I had difficulty, she told me to move to the Level 1 class. So, my second (and final) visit was to Aerial Silks Level 1. Asia still seemed irritated that I didn't instantly know how to rig the setup; this was only my second time there. Class started 15 minutes late, with just three students total. We then spent the entire hour doing inverts in a knot behind the back. I'm not exaggerating, nothing else for the whole session. When I asked to try something different, I was ignored and told we wouldn't move forward until my invert had zero knee bend. After 30 minutes of nonstop inverts, anyone's legs would fatigue. I've never had such an unpleasant, condescending experience with a teacher. I wasted a session credit on a class that not only started late but also taught me nothing.

My experience at Product School was positive from start to finish. It began with an identified need…read morefor me to seek formal education in PM prior to interviewing for a role. With that in mind, I was presented two options for industry-leading knowledge providers...and I chose Product School. Why? Because from the moment I engaged with the PS team, I was presented with timely, accurate, and relevant information pertaining my anticipated role and how they could assist me in being better prepared. At no point did anyone there "guarantee" me anything - which was much appreciated on my part. The financial admissions process was straightforward through a third-party lender and I was admitted into the upcoming course within a few days. A flurry of emails went out within a few minutes of acceptance and on-boarding was completed digitally in minutes. Now to the important stuff - how was the actual course? In short, it was excellent and far exceeded my expectations. I was fortunate to be surrounded by incredibly capable and engaged fellow learners and led by Rocky Sharma as an instructor. During the five days we covered all of the basic level skills required to understand the PM role and Rocky routinely placed us into learning groups to validate our theoretical concepts. If this were a course that lasted another week, I'd gladly make the time. I feel a lot better prepared now for my upcoming interview as a Product Manager and am looking forward to seeing how and where my new alum network goes in life. It's been a great week and I would recommend this course to a lot of folks considering starting a company, all the way to the potential product manager role!
