I really appreciated Ken's easy-going demeanor, and sensed zero interest in him trying to sell me a repair service that wasn't needed. Ken is just an honest guy offering his experienced opinion - in no doubt, putting yet another homeowners' unwarranted concerns to rest. Would be nice If all companies sent inspectors who operated the same way as Ken.

We then had an inspector look at the home, and what we understood was that we needed a Geotechnical engineer to look at the foundation. This is where Pavlo comes in. When we called him in a panic, he was very calm, fully heard us out and made accommodations to see our house in a very timely fashion. At the house, Pavlo took the time to go into the crawl space, take samples, take images, run cameras, and do a very thorough job. He then went inside the home, did an additional structural inspection. Once he completed his report, while at the house, Pavlo took the time to not only explain to myself his findings, but re-explain his findings to the realtors that were there. He showed pictures, explained his thought process, drew images so we understood what he was talking about, and answered every single one of our questions. After his explanation we felt we were able to make a well educated decision. To summarize, Pavlo really takes his time, communicates with everyone, is very pleasant to talk to, and just a very well rounded individual. On top of all of this, he is very knowledgeable in what he does and makes everyone feel comfortable. We would highly recommend him Pavlo!

We hired OConsulting because we wanted to remodel our kitchen, laundry room and living room. Our…read moreremodel design included removing (2) walls and adding (2) windows in the kitchen, expanding the laundry room, and raising a sunken conversation pit in the living room. Upon initial contact we emailed details of our project and then had a video conference with Fredy and Nanak to discuss the project in more detail along with their services. A contract for the work was issued and signed and Fredy came out for a site visit to begin. Structural and mechanical engineered plans were then developed with a set of preliminary drawings for our review. We discussed a few adjustments we wanted to be made to the design and then finalized the design details. A stamped set of mechanical and structural engineered plans were issued and submitted to the city via OConsulting on our behalf for the city's review and approval. The engineering and plans were so well done that the only request the city had were minor verbiage to be added to the front page of the plans indicating wind speed of the area, that the property is within an HOA and that no oil drilling is located on the property. With the addition of the specified verbiage to the plans the city then approved the stamped set of plans and the building permit was successfully issued. Our experience with Fredy and Nanak at OConsulting was a pleasant experience. Both Fredy and Nanak were personally a pleasure to work with. They answered all of our questions, listened well to our design goals and vision, were attentive to our project and because of their highly skilled knowledge and skillset they made it possible for us to proceed with beginning construction on our remodel. We laid out what we wanted and Fredy told us what we could and couldn't do. He told us he could have the plans done pretty quickly and we were happy with how it was going until.. We wanted to add a skylight and asked Fredy about it. He quickly said we couldn't and gave no real explanation why. So we did a little research, asked another engineer and found out it was possible. When we called to ask Fredy about it he YELLED AT MY WIFE and basic said not to question him. It seemed Fredy didn't want to do the extra work to look into it. He ended up adding it after I had another conversation with him. It's not over.. Once we finally get the plans and turn them into the City for review they get sent back to us. FREDY MESSED UP NORTH AND SOUTH! It then took him over 2 weeks to correct it! THIS COST US OVER 10K DOLLARS because the project was held up and we had to keep paying the mortgage FREDY MESSED UP OUR PLANS 2 MORE TIMES AND COST US OVER 20K DOLLARS IN MORTGAGE PAYMENTS AND MONTHS OF IDLE TIME Please don't be fooled by the 5 star reviews. If you are in the market for a good, timely and competent engineer I suggest you look elsewhere.

An Architect's Review…read more As an architect, I work with contractors on a regular basis and needless to say, I was probably more particular than most when it came to choosing someone to work on my own home. Word of mouth and research led me to ARC / Armando... and I'm glad I went with him! From the beginning, communication was clear and straightforward. We went through the scope of work, my requirements and budget. I had some very basic drawings prepared to communicate my ideas. Along the way, Armando made suggestions to work with my requirements and budget. His pricing was reasonable and, most importantly, he completed the work within the budget we originally agreed upon. Anyone who has done a renovation before knows how easily costs can start creeping up once work begins. That was not my experience here. The scope and budget were established upfront and Armando stuck to them. And this was very important to me as I had no way of accommodating an increase in cost. The work was for a garage renovation, it included interior demo, replacement of an exterior window, addition of a new exterior door, vinyl wood flooring, drywall and installation of a new gypsum ceiling. Work progressed efficiently and to my expectations with no unnecessary delays. Communication throughout the project was excellent, and mostly Armando initiating the conversations to keep me updated. He was also very easy to work with on finishes and hardware. Some items I provided myself while others were sourced by him. Again, he made recommendations to work with my budget while not compromising on quality. Speaking of quality, the quality of the work was exceptional. It has now been over a year since the renovation was completed and everything still looks as good as the day it was finished. Absolutely zero complaints! His attention to detail was very much appreciated. He constantly made suggestions when he felt something could be improved. For example, he suggested a more random tile pattern for the vinyl floor instead of the more regular stagger I had proposed. We went with his suggestion and I am very pleased with it. Armando is knowledgeable, reliable and a pleasure to work with. Coming from someone who deals with contractors professionally all the time, I don't make that recommendation lightly. Definitely highly recommended and he will be my first call for future projects!

Throughout the entire process, Mike was very professional and the level of expertise he exhibited was obvious. Before Mike, I had met with 3 other contractors to compare services and quotes but what sealed the deal for me was the 3D render service Mike offered. It was affordable and it would be free if you end up going with MDM for your remodel. Mike was able to get the renderings to me very quickly and made adjustments whenever we wanted to change something. Seeing the details of the renderings really brought what we were envisioning to life and helped with the design process. Fast forward to beginning of demo/construction, Mike's employees were impressively fast and efficient at their jobs, but what really impressed me was how clean they kept our property after each day of work. And that stated true throughout the entire process of our 7 month renovation. During construction, if there were any last minute changes, Mike would always try to cater to our needs whenever possible. Even if subcontractors made mistakes with anything, Mike would make sure it is fixed and perfect right away. Keep in mind, you can't rely on Mike for everything (as much as you might want to). You really do have to do your research (in terms of design, finishing materials, sourcing those materials, and getting them delivered on time) and know exactly what you want and how you want it, that way, Mike can plan and put into action what needs to be done. After this entire process, we are extremely happy we got this project completed with MDM. What really sets them apart is the quality of work, dependability, and the great people that work for MDM. Shoutout to Mario! They really respected our home and were very considerate of us during construction. Even after everything was finished, they guaranteed that they would come back and fix anything that needed fixing. Cannot recommend them enough if you want to improve or build your new home!

My wife and I were looking for a structural engineer to help us start building a prefabricated structure a canopy a septic tank and to make grading and civil plans for our lot. When I called ACC & Engineering I was pleasantly surprised Not only do they handle design and engineering but they also take care of the construction themselves That meant we didn't have to go through the hassle of finding a contractor after the plans were approved. It sounded almost too good to be true. We decided to visit their office in Anaheim and I have to say we were really impressed The office itself is beautiful and shows how creative and professional they are. Ben, the owner, greeted us with a big smile and even offered us some fresh coffee which really good you have to try it if you stop by. He gave us a tour of the office and we saw a lot going on. They had people working on plans design calculations and even construction right there in their own warehouse building thye had welders and carpenters busy at work fabricating Right then, we knew we had found the right place. The plans were ready in less than three weeks submitted to the City of La Palma and approved right away. Ben gave us a very fair construction estimate and it took just three months to finish everythingWe are so happy with the results and we just had to recommend ACC & Engineering to our friends and family. I had my own contractor and we needed Structural Plans & Calculations for my Business structural Retrofit after the city of La Palma send us a notice! He worked with us and our contractors, answered questions, and helped keep things moving. He was also extremely responsive; he typically replied within a few hours, which makes a huge difference when you're trying to keep a project on track. Ben handled submissions and permitting with the City of Fullerton and worked through City-requested changes efficiently, saving us countless hours and headaches. He also has a sharp eye for detail -- his plans were thorough, complete, and clear -- and he brought creative solutions to get the design we wanted while respecting the budget. Our taste is traditional / Cape Cod, and he did an outstanding job translating inspiration photos into a finished design that feels classic, intentional, and timeless. We went through more than four rounds of revisions, and Ben was patient and constructive the entire time -- he worked with us until we were genuinely happy. Bottom line: Ben translated our dreams into reality, and did it with professionalism, responsiveness, and real care. We confirmed an appointment from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM in the Temescal area of Corona. Despite his office being located in Corona, he stated he was unable to find the property, even after I provided clear directions. My elderly parents were present at the property to assist, and I had arranged to meet him during my lunch break from work. Upon arrival, I found no issues accessing the property there were no "large rocks" blocking the entrance as he claimed. Unfortunately, he had already left before the scheduled time without proper communication. Instead, he states that we send photos of the structure. This experience was a significant waste of time and demonstrated a lack of professionalism, reliability, and respect for our schedule. I would not recommend this service based on our experience.

These 5 star reviews have to be from friends and family. 1. I couldn't get the staff to answer emails in a timely manner. 2. The engineer made changes that I never agreed to. 3. The engineer could not understand simple concepts. He would ask me a question. I would answer it then here we are 6 weeks later going over the same questions. 4. The engineer made a request. I honored the request. I reference the request in an email and he tells me he never made the request. I attach his emails with the request! He then sticks to he didn't make the request. I have at least 15 total complaints but I will stop here. This was by far the worst engineer I have ever done business with. Its hard to believe businesses like this are still operational.
