I only went for an oil change but I got right in and right out no problems and had a coupon under 30 bucks for used synthetic blend.

They didn't charge what they should have for the repair work but they also didn't fix my car after 5 months and I had to take to 2 additional mechanics. Maybe only use them for "Minor" repairs and definitely not for "Major" repairs.

So I accidentally put silicate based coolant in my car. Apparently, it is incompatible with my…read moreyear/make/model. This caused the thermostat to fail. A grey sludge came out - and this is to be expected (normally a head gasket but this was a chemical reaction) - Valvoline charges $100 for a radiator flush, and the thermostat at Advanced Auto was $56. Took it to this shop. They didn't touch it for multiple days as I called multiple times each day and the same story... "We haven't gotten to it yet." Then they call me and ask me what color the sludge is. Uhhh, don't you have the car? I leave a voicemail at about 5:00pm that day telling them to not touch the vehicle after quoting me $660. They told me their program on the computer calculates the time to replace and everything. I call my mechanic buddy the next city over (I would have just used him in the first place - but I couldn't get but maybe 1/4 mile at a time before it got too risky to drive at high temp.) - He uses the same programs they do - sends me a screenshot of the total time. 0.8 hours... so 45/50 minutes maybe? They wanted to charge me 4.5 hours labor. My mechanic said on the end high end and worse case scenario $400 is kind of the ceiling for this issue, tops. $250 pretty standard. I go to pick my key up this morning slightly after they open and they charge me a $50 diagnostic fee. For what? Every single time I called they said they had not been able to take a look yet (mind you this is 4:00pm the day before - right before they close). And if they took a look like they said... why did they call me to ask what color the sludge is? They never performed any diagnostics. Guy lied to me when I got there and said "I had it up on the lift and looked at it myself" - to find out what? That yup... sure looks like everything he said... that'll be $50. Doesn't matter anyways, they didn't look at the thing. Moral of the story folks, unless you realllllly badly want to get charged double, and charged for work that was never completed... don't go here. In fact, tell all your friends not to go here either. This is the 2nd time they've done me dirty as well. The first time I had an oil leak (perhaps it was my starter, one of those times) and after they "fixed" it, it was initially quoting me some insane amount like $800. So I laughed and asked to talk to a manager/owner. They called me back and said, "Ooops, I'm sorry I read that wrong, it was $400 not $800..." - wow, awfully difficult numbers to tell apart there eh? The numbers that don't look alike in any way/shape/form. Also... guess what? - still an oil leak. The issue was never resolved. Absolute trash ran business. Screwing people over is likely the only way they are staying afloat. I don't know how on earth they are keeping customers with these business practices, because they've sure lost my business, my friend's business, and my family's business.

The phone picked up and it sounded like he was working on another vehicle. That's when I told him to forget about it, because he clearly already had. Unreliable at its best! Keeps leaving you hanging and was super sketchy. He's good at taking your money and bailing. Good luck getting refunds from him. He ghosts you and can't communicate. If you back out of a job because you can't do it, just say that. Don't waste people's time. Look him up on Facebook. He's scammed people out of $$$ and calls everyone a liar when they speak up. He's good at gaslighting you. I'm really honestly not sure how he's still in business. He's done multiple people really bad from all the things I've seen in groups and people's comments. Some lady even said he did 10k worth of damage to her car all because he wanted to scam her. Of course he's going to reply to this saying he didn't do it or that your post is "malice." That's his usual move. Anybody that speaks up about him, he attacks. Read all the reviews, folks. Do your homework and don't just believe the good reviews for him. He does shady work and will lie through his teeth to prove you wrong. All of his bad reviews are the actual truth of his behavior and his business. I highly suggest you do your research and join a bunch of the community groups on Facebook. His little cult-like friends are the ones writing him perfect reviews.

My dtr's car's serpentine belt broke so was undrivable (engine overheating cuz the water pump…read morewasn't being driven by the belt). I called about 7 at night, and he said he could get to it about 3 the next day after a couple other jobs. I said fine. Just to compare I called 2 local shops and tow services in the morning - tow and repair would be about $225. In the morning he texted that he could be out right away. I told him that I was 25 minutes from her car and said ok. He got there less than 5 minutes after I did. He saw oil that had splattered cuz the cap had been off for a while days earlier and said that's probably why the belt failed since none of the pulleys were a problem. He cleaned up the oil, put on a new belt (that one shop wanted $55 for), checked the oil level, added some that I had, jumped the battery (it was dead since the alternator wasn't being driven by the belt either, and that car has a small phantom electrical drain), and was done in probably 25 minutes. Charged me $70. So he saved me all the hassle and time of dealing with a tow truck and a repair shop, and saved me $155! Will definitely use again.
