Best auto care shop to which I've taken my vehicles. A couple years ago, after my friend Bruce Baker told me of his good experience with Evans of Richmond, I decided to give it a try. I asked (as I found out later, co-owner) Mike Harris how much it would cost if I supplied my own oil and my own filter. I presumed he would charge a minimum equal to if they had supplied the oil themselves (as other shops had done with me), but he didn't. I forget how much he quoted, but I do remember asking how they could do it for so little. He smiled. "We like to treat our customers right." And I have found the same attitude every time I've taken either of our two vehicles for work. But beyond this great attitude, I have found, over these past couple years, that they do quality work. Here is my most recent example of how they have cared for my needs: A few weeks ago, I took my Ford Ranger in for lots of repairs. They called me and said that when they got the back end opened, they realized I needed new seals. I told them I appreciated their finding that, and of course to go ahead. Well, they called back, saying that, since My Ford Ranger is 20 years old, "they don't make that seal any more." But, they did say they'd try to match the seal with one that might fit best. I could tell they were really trying. Now, I know that there are other good shops that might do that and "do the best they could" to make it work. BUT, INSTEAD, Mike's son Corey, who manages Evans, RESEARCHED my particular vehicle, and found it is one of very few Rangers that was made with an F-150 front end. That resulted in them finding a seal that was an exact match! Now, how many shops will actually spend the time to RESEARCH one's exact kind of vehicle to see if they can find better answers? I've only experienced this one. I HIGHLY recommend Evans. Their concern is not just to get the job done. THEIR concern has been to get MY job is done RIGHT. They did a outstanding job on finding and repairing a damaged frame that had rusted a hole through for less then $160.00. I told them personally to fix what ever needed to be done, but once the frame was repaired i really did not need the other items done!!! Unlike most garages they did not take advantage of my approval, they only did what was needed saving me hundreds of dollars. They even repaired/replaced a water hose for FREE!!! NO other garage would do all they have a real friendly caring helpful garage working with me to make quick and great repairs. I highly recommend them!!! read more

This is the only place I go in Richmond for car repairs and second opinions. The first time I went here was for squeaking brakes. Unfortunately I listened to some family members, took the car to a mechanic in my hometown and boom, my car still sounds horrible. Meanwhile at Evan's, I brought my car in when the brake lights weren't working. They fixed the problem quickly and I only ended up being out $50 for all of it. Most recently they patched up a nail hole in one tire for me to the tune of $12 and did a fast job of it. I'll let you know here in a few months how it holds up! read more

I have had many of my vehicles worked on at Evan's Tire & Auto Care. They always take the time to explain everything to me and make sure I know what is being done to my vehicle. When purchasing a set of four tires, they were very knowledgeable on which tires would be right for me and which ones weren't. I have had oil changes, mechanical repairs, tire repairs, and exhaust work done here and I will never take my cars anywhere else! They always treat me fairly and I am more than happy to recommend Evan's Tire to all of my friends and family. read more

Absolutely love these guys!! Stop in on last Monday because my car was acting up, Evans took me in very quickly to figure out the problem! They let me know what it was and how much it would be so they ordered the parts and had me out within a hour, David the owner let me know some of the other issues I had, I didn't feel pressured when we were talking about what needed to be done. I just had these guys install a 6" lift and 35's on my 2016 F150. I have had lifts installed by other tire centers in the past and was not satisfied with the end result at all.
