Fast, friendly, and effective service! Somehow, Jim G. and I lost our mailbox keys. We ALWAYS put them in the same place every day after using them and, somehow, they were not there. We suspect they somehow made their way into the trash (even though we donned gloves and looked through) or fell into the grash/bushes (even though we looked). Yelp to the rescue! I started a "project" to get some quotes; I received a handful of responses and Robert Z. from Access Lock and Key was the first one to get back to me with a price quote and the wonderful news that he could do the job on the same day! We have an older home with the original door knobs throughout the house that were either broken or the latches were strong so the dogs or the wind just pushed them in. He came in and assessed every door and repaired them quickly. His turn around from when I sent the request was less than 24 hours. One door was so crooked from the different earthquakes that it was hard to close. He cut the top of the door slightly and now it works perfectly. Robert helped me from being scammed. He came in 20 minutes after contact and unlock my gate door and front door in 10 minutes. Gave me a receipt and explained to me the scamming that's happening. I had called A&B, a company I found online with good reviews. They won't give me a quote and said to talk to the person who will come. A young woman called me back and said she would come in 20 minutes. 30 minutes later Jasmine came and said it would cost me $580 for 2 locks even though they use the same key. She said it costs more to not have the lock damaged. It's pricey because the lock has 7 pins. I said it costs too much. She said she'll do it for $350. I said I'll call another person my friend had recommended. That was Robert. He told me the most is $160 most. Told me to text him my address. I told her he was willing to do for less so she lowered to $250. I said I would just go with Robert. She said if there was a service fee I had discussed with her company for her coming. I said no. She said I need to make a decision because she has another job. I said I would go with Robert. As she was walking back to her car, I received a call from another person claiming to be working for Robert. He explained that there is a service fee and depending on the locks, it would cost me at least $250. So I should just use who is there if it's the same price. She was in the car, so I called her back. She started working on the lock when Robert called me back and asked why I have not sent him my address. I said that his guy had called and gave me a different price. Robert said he worked alone and wanted to talk to her. She spoke to him in another language thinking it's her guy. He informed me that I have the right to stop her work because someone is pretending to a part of his company. I asked her to stop because I am being scammed by someone. Robert was telling her that she has no right to pose as part of his business and to stop the scamming. She acted offended and said it was disrespectful and walked away. As she slowly walked away and I confirmed with Robert my address and for him to come, I got the 747 calls and text saying that they would lower the price to $100. I need to answer yes or no. I ignored it and several other calls from that 747-264-8737 number. The original number I called for A&B was 310.946.0449. not sure if that company got hacked by Jasmine and her buddy. read more

Word of advice, if your garage doesn't have a second door, don't hit the remote lockout if you don't have a key to the release. We didn't have a key to the release. To make matters worse, it wasn't a standard lock. It was a barrel lock. I ran a project on here and had several offers. Access Lock and Key came back with the best price and he was quick in communicating as well as prompt when he said he was going to show up. He showed up at the time he said he would, fixed my mailbox lock, and the cost was exactly what he said it would be, which was a totally fair price. I looked on Yelp to help my Dad. I was visiting him and he needed his locks re-keyed. We asked for quotes from several companies and decided on Access Lock & Key. All was going well until it didn't. A quote was given by Robert, plus a senior discount. Then when Robert arrived and he started going to work he came to us and said 2 of the locks were builder locks so they could not be re-keyed but the dead bolts can still be re-keyed. Come to find out AFTER he left 3 could not be re-keyed but we were still charged for it. We had told him there were 4 doors total: 3 doors had 2 locks 1 door had one lock He was only able to re-key 4 of the 7 locks. The original price to include all the above with a senior discount I think was $210 Then when he went to write up the bill which was no itemized he said $180-185. My Dad asked did that include the senior discount and he said no because the job was smaller than originally quoted. Then my Dad asked about the $30 per lock price and how did he go from $210 to $180? (I apologize but I can no longer reference texts that went back and forth with Robert on Yelp, they self deleted. I'm guessing since this took place in Oct 2022). That's only a discount of $30 when it was 3 locks total that couldn't be replaced. He said there was tax on the total. I messaged 2 other locksmiths who gave me quotes and they both said there is no tax on the job itself just materials - which in our case was 6 keys. I questioned Robert about this and he got annoyed and defensive. After Robert left I called him to tell him my Dad wasn't happy with all this. He said he would send my Dad a $5.00 check once he got back from a family wedding. That was Oct 27th. In speaking with my Dad last night he has still not received the check. Robert also made a comment about his daughter being a lawyer and he treats people well. I guess if that's your business practice, then live up to your promise and mail the check to my 93yr old father. read more
