Go Thunderbirds! I have to say there isn't a bad seat in the entire stadium. It is a little smaller than I expected but I was pleasantly surprised. Tickets are pretty inexpensive, it is the food and drinks that will get you. This is pretty typical for a stadium/sporting event. A micro beer was $9.50. I would suggest grabbing a bite to eat BEFORE the game. I parked across the street as their lots fill up pretty fast, but it was organized pretty well. My ticket was at will call, and security was fast and efficient. I had a regular purse, NOT a clear bag and had no trouble coming in. My goal is to try out a suite, they looked like a lot of fun for family and friends. read more

Disney on Ice was an amazing experience. My family and I go every year, and this year was just as awesome as the years prior. I appreciate how the ShoWare Center parking, being somewhat limited in space, was properly handled in such a way that eliminates stress. They literally direct you exactly where to park, perfect. The staff seemed friendly and knowledgeable. The ShoWare Center, like most other arenas often times has long lines, for overpriced food, and mobile vendors that sell 12oz drinks, mainly filled with ice for $20-25. So if you're looking to eat, maybe go across the street to Kent Station shopping center for some of the selections. The Disney on ice show was gorgeous, no complaints. Leaving the ShoWare Center can get crowded after a show, but you rush to be first out, or wait until pedestrian traffic slows down, then claustrophobia isn't an issue. Seats are pretty good for a concert. To me any seat in the house is pretty good. People have to remember to bring a jacket or sweater since the ice rink is under the floor. We will into more shows at the ShoWare. I gave it a 3 because the security could be a little friendly especially their supervisor. read more

I went here for an ice hockey game between the Seattle Thunderbirds and the Vancouver Giants to celebrate a friends birthday. We were a group of about 20 people and had a lot of fun watching the game, watching the intermission fun actions and cheering for the team. The event center itself is smaller than I expected but that way you'll have a good view from every seat, which is nice. I don't know why it is so 'far' from Seattle, but the drive isn't too long and parking was no problem (we had purchased a parking pass in advance). The staff was mostly friendly except for one egomaniac who played his "I'm super important" card on me. I had a handbag on me, which featured the f-word on it, and instead of telling me to turn it around so no kids could read it, he told me I had to cover it with paper + scotch tape and I had to follow him to the customer service (the woman there wasn't really sure about his sayings either!). His explanation was simply: "You can not wear this here, here are children. We understand freedom of speech, but not in here!". He was pretty rude and I am sure he felt really important. Because I wanted to celebrate with my friends I just followed along and taped the bag so he could go to bed with a big and peaceful ego that night. So, be aware of the lettering on your clothes & accessories ... (I still can't believe it), and please let your freedom of speech in the car. The food and drinks are way overpriced, but I think that is a common thing in event centers around the globe. The washrooms were clean and usable. Oh, and the Thunderbirds won 6:1. ;) read more

I had a horrible experience here last night. I didn't get to stay for the show for lack of feeling comfortable in the venue after the way I was treated and harassed by a steward, a manager and two Kent PD officers who were "just looking" according to him as he stood directly in my line of sight so I could not see the show and the others had me surrounded. When I asked why I was surrounded, they told me I wasn't ... not sure how that logic worked since they were circled around me (the definition of surrounding) all while being asked for my ticket when I had the VIP lanyard visibly hanging from my neck. When my partner arrived back to our area from the concession stand I saw them become nervous as he was a larger black man at which point I decided it was in our best interest to leave. Situations like that with that officers instigating demeanor never work in favor of people of color no matter if they are right or have the right to be where they are. We didn't even get to see Hannibal after being there for hours during Super Lemon Haze. Disappointing but not surprising. First and last time there for me. I will never attend another event at this place again. read more

My family and I were just there for the Mercer Island high school graduation event on June 11, 2019. The doors were supposed to open at 5:30 but of they were late in opening the doors. And we ended up standing in the hot sun for a few minutes. The ShoWare seems to be a lovely medium size venue that's not too large and accommodates a high school graduation very well. We had to be "wanded" and our bags searched before we could enter and I have no issue about that. After the Commencement program, the graduating students filed out first and then the audience. Our group of 8 mostly elderly relatives all went outside to meet up with our graduating senior. However, I had to use the restroom after a five hour period which included the hour car ride there and being there at 5:30 for when the doors were supposed to be open. WE WERE REFUSED ACCESS TO USE THE RESTROOM! I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT! THE STAFF TOLD US ONLY THE HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS WERE ALLOWED INSIDE. OH MY GOD! I THOUGHT I'D HAVE TO DROP MY PANTIES AND GO RIGHT NEXT TO MY CAR! I won't say how this was resolved but I would never ever recommend this place because of this one occurrence. If the ShoWare management wasn't going to allow people back in they need to say so right at the beginning of the program or have signs to that effect!! read more

The people at the ticket counter are totally unhelpful as after I arrived i learned the artist i paid money to come and see, Santigold, was dropped from the tour by Lauren Hill. It really feels like a con job on the part of Lauren Hill and the operators here are complicit. read more

The Showare Center is so cool! (literally.) Driving down to Kent you may feel out of place if you're not rockin' a sweet mullet, but the crowd here at the hockey games is quite diverse. My brother came from out of town to see a Thunderbirds game and we had a blast. First - the venue is brand new and totally spotless. Beer and food were overpriced as usual but nothing that we didn't' expect. Parking was cake because their parking lot staff was on hand to direct people to open spaces and keep the flow of traffic moving. Can you believe it took less than 10 minutes to clear the lot out after the game? I didn't even leave the venue early trying to beat the traffic! I've also come to Showare for a work event (trade show) and still found the venue to be just as new and sparkly as it was months and months ago. Best sports venue I've been to in a long time! read more

Two stars because the staff are nice. This facility is my LEAST favorite arena to go to. I don't know what the architects were thinking when they designed this arena, but they weren't thinking very hard. The slope is just such that no matter how far in front of you someone is, if they stand up they block your entire view. One of the places that the staff was lacking was in telling people they couldn't move up and down the rows during play, as is customary in any other arena. God forbid you be an Everett or a Portland fan in this arena; you will be mercilessly taunted and insulted by fans who know very little about hockey or hockey etiquette. It didn't matter what my boys did, whether we scored or got a power play or any other play, but the crowd constantly shouted "Everett Sucks!" While I expect some playful banter from the different people in the crowd, I've never heard such rude insults as some of the ones that came from the Seattle fans in my immediate area. I even had one person look me in the eye and scream "SUCK IT" when Seattle scored a goal. I've been here for other events too and it wasn't as bad. I just don't think I'll come back for another hockey game any time soon, not until Seattle fans clean up their act. read more

ShoWare Center is a nice looking Sports Venue located in Kent! It's nice that Kent Station is close by so you could grab a bite before or after the game! I saw my first Hockey game here the other week! The T-Birds lost to the Spokane Cheifs...at least a WA Team won!! It was interesting seeing a couple punch out fight brawls...I had a good time nevertheless...Haha! It was 2-for-Tuesday night at ShoWare Center. I must commend the Showare center for continuing to bring great Christian concerts to our area! We just attended the Hillsong United concert and it was a fabulous sold out concert. We had no problems with parking or wait lines. The only negative I would give is, concessions, there wasn't too many open but other than that it was great. Came for a concert that had multiple acts. We arrived very early since it was general admission seating. Were able to get a close parking spot in their lot. The left turn is closed at some point before the show, so get there early or plan on driving by, turning around and then getting into the parking area. Lots of other parking nearby(park and ride). We waited outside up front for a few hours. Police did come by to keep people 3 feet from road(open sidewalk). It is close enough to walk to nearby food options. Inside we were able to get seating with no issues. Seats are tight. When seated my knees almost touched the person in front of me. My hair was pulled many times from the kid behind me moving her legs. Come to get cozy with strangers. Sound was great here. Good views from almost all the seating....you don't want to be on the floor mid way back if the event has a middle floor stage. This will be completely blocking your view the entire show. Anywhere but the middle-back floor was good. Bathrooms were plenty and large. Not very clean by end of the show. Leaving wasn't as bad as I expected. We were able to get out quickly. Enjoyed our show here, will be back! read more

Extremely nice venue. The place still looks brand new and whoever is taking care of it is doing a great job. There is free parking or you can park at Kent Station. Went to see Tricities @ Thunderbirds and the place is rocking. It's too bad they do not have more seats for an NHL team. :P I love watching hockey, I think it's the coolest (pun intended) game to watch. Tickets here are cheap. For $22 per tickets minimum, it's easily a cheap date. I plan to visit here again in the near future. TIP: Purchase the tickets at ShoWare Center versus buying the tickets online. By buying thet tickets at the ShoWare Center you save money by not paying the transaction/service fee. read more

Great arena - I was so happy a few years ago when they built this place, it is far superior to Key Arena for the Tbirds. I watched as they built this arena. Since it opened I have been to many different venues. I have seen the circus with the kiddies, whatever-on-ice, tech shows, concerts, and of course HOCKEY. There is a great seat map and anywhere you sit is a good seat with a great view. If you are going with a group they have group prices for most events and they have suites with good amenities. The arena is clean and plenty of facilities and beer stands. read more

Came here to see Disney on ice. I have seen ice shows before but never here. Love the free parking lot. And that they have people directing you in and out. The wait to get out was actually fairly quick, they have two exits. Finding the place is super easy! The inside area is kinda small. Or if could of just looked small because it was packed with Disney items. They have normal event concessions and a coffee cart. The prices seemed pretty normal for what you would expect at events. There was staff everywhere to help you find your seats. All that we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The venue area is not huge, but good size. Didn't seem to be any nose bleed seats. Looks like anywhere you sit you would have a good view of the ice/floor. Would totally come back for another event here! read more

So I purchased tickets for Chris Tomlin at the ShoWare Center and they put us in a different section than what I chose. I purchased tickets for Crowder and I find out that our seats are not next to each other. They offered a refund then took it back and now won't refund them. HORRIBLE customer service. Without saying the words, they are called me ignorant. The lady was so rude on the phone. The only way of sitting next to my wife would be paying $250 per ticket. The ShoWare Center is just horrible. I've been there plenty of times and picked my seats plenty of times but now they tell me if I have time, I can come in and they will show me how to do it. I'm not an idiot. Intimate, friendly, and fancy for a hockey stadium Last night was my first Thunderbirds game. It was my wife, my two kids (4 & 18mos), and me. We all had fun, it was awesome. The hockey was so-so. The players are at about 3/4 NHL speed, but the venue more than made up for the sluggish play. We had 5th row seats, which were awesome, but the worst seats in the house were 17th or 18th row. At that distance, every seat in the house gives a great perspective on the game. Probably the best thing about the place is the no-gouge experience. I actually made a stop at an ATM to get cash for the typical parking rip-off, but there was none. We parked across the street with plenty of spots available, and had a short walk to the front door. The concessions are expensive, but they allowed my wife to bring in a gang of food for our kids and didn't frisk me like they do at Seahawks games and concerts. Outside of my wife drinking fifty beers, we got in and out for the price of admission. One warning for people with families: Don't try to eat at Kent Commons right before the game. We foolishly bypassed all our local West Seattle places thinking there would be ample opportunities for dinner. They were indeed numerous, but they were all jammed with shoppers and hockey fans. We actually found Taqueria El Rinconsito around the corner from Kent Commons, and had a terrific quick meal and got to the game on time. I could only imagine that the intimate stadium is a great place for a concert. Again, you're never far from the floor, and the farthest seat in ShoWare is closer than some of the seats on the floor of Key Arena. Bottom Line: If you don't mind the drive, this is a great place for sports and concerts. read more

There really is no bad seating in this place because no matter where you sit, you have a full view of everything I like this place because it reminds me of the days that I would go to the Tacoma Dome, the Key Arena, or the Kingdome to watch sports or concerts. It is centrally located in Kent so it makes it an easy drive from Tacoma or from Seattle and it is alot easier to get into than Key Arena or the Tacoma Dome. read more

Love this place. Not only is it L-I-T-E-R-A-L-L-Y like 10 blocks away from my house, it's legit convenient to take the kids for some fun and date night too with my man. For a date night, he took me to the big comedy show that was hosted there a couple months ago (Eddie Griffin, Earthquake, Michael Blackson, Bill Bellamy). My brother was part of the promo team so we got back stage passes and met all the comedians after. I must say, Earthquakes ( i had NO CLUE who he was) staff/team that was with him almost got the 3rd degree. We walked into his dressing room and the lady with him stood up and approached us and told my brother he needed to go finish making the tables up looking crazy as hell, and she then ushered us out of there like he was Michael jackson or something. . WTH? Assuming he was "the help"! People come in here dressed to impress and have a great time. I have yet to see a fight or hear about some drama during an event yet. Taken the kids to Disney on Ice a few times, thats always fun. The seats are really close to the stage NO matter where your sitting but its def REALLY EXPENSIVE. REALLY REALLY EXPENSIVE. I think we paid $86 for 2 double shots of henny during an event. read more

I went to this event center for the first time recently. I was so suprised to see that it was such an intimate setting. I thought it would be more like Comcast Arena, but its even smaller than that. I like the smallness, even my seats in Row 20 turned out to be good seats and I got the cheap price for them. I also enjoyed that I didn't have to drop an arm and a leg on parking which seems to be common for event centers these days. It had a great variety of food options which seemed to be out of the ordinary for these types of venues. I hope to go to more events here soon. read more

What a beautiful venue! Green built! Free parking. Love it! I can't wait to see the Lingerie Football League here. This venue is the best thing that has ever happened to Kent. It's right next to Kent Commons. They have plenty of free parking (at least the time I went there). They also host the Seattle Thunderbirds Hockey team. read more

Wow! Go Kent! The last time I saw the Thunderbirds play was at the Key and while it was a good time...the experience is far better at ShoWareCenter. This is a fantastic facility near all the restaurants of Kent Station, and get this--the parking is FREE! If you hail from Seattle, that alone is worth a couple of stars. This clean, spiffy arena is small enough that there really isn't a bad seat in the house. For $22, I was entirely pleased with my view of the action on the ice. Rockin' get-you-pumped music like Guns N Roses and Blur (Song 2) keep the crowd's spirits up even when the Thunderbirds are getting whipped like they did last night. Fun entertainment between the periods, too...we had quite a laugh at the "Musical Chairs on Ice" contest! I didn't partake in any refreshments, but my friend got a microbrew (party cup size) for $7.25, which isn't horrific when compared to places like the CLink or Safeco. All the food items seemed to be gigantic! 10-inch hot dogs, super-sized pretzels, 2-foot bags of popcorn. I even saw some buffalo wings and fries go by. Apparently they've had some Tuesday night specials during the season that offer beers and dogs for $2...definitely keeping that in mind for future hockey excursions. I'd be curious to check out a concert here, too! The only pain was that for our particular seats, we were constantly having to get up to let people in and out. I mean, constantly. This is a great venue for hockey games - not a bad seat in the house. Well ok, the one time I sat right behind the bench where they prop up the hockey sticks... so avoid that seat, the view is kinda blocked. Tons of parking! You will never have trouble finding a spot and they always have plenty of event staff directing people to the empty spots. The food here is above average for stadium food. The beer and food prices are high but less than Safeco field. Thus is the way of sports venues and there is only one way around it: go to Tuesday night hockey games. Buy one get one free tickets, and $2 beer, popcorn, and hotdogs! Domestic beer, sure, but that third Labatt's really tastes pretty good.... Oh and I should mention the staff here are top notch. I was here on 5-14-11. A person I'm not too into, yet they have free luxury box tickets to a Dru Hill, Jagged Edge, etc concert? I'm there!! So I was here for a concert. Showare is a pretty intimate place for a concert. It seats about 5,000 I believe. The luxury boxes totally have the best view for any concert, etc. You get waiter service too, which is average at best due to them having to serve so many other other luxury boxes, etc. One of the drawbacks would be having to deal with being gawked at by the drunk people when you walk down the aisle that leads to the restroom on the second floor. I came here to see a show lately and was expecting a huge arena. I was surprised to see it was actually fairly small. There doesn't really seem to be a true nosebleed section and it seems like you can get a decent view even if you are higher up. Parking was also free, which was awesome. We chose not to park in the main convention lot but at the park and ride just a little up the street (also convention center parking) They have staff directing the parking as well as doing pedestrian control, which makes it seem a lot safer for not only the pedestrians but the cars trying to enter/exit the lot as well. read more

This really is a great facility. We've seen concerts, hockey games, disney on ice and the globetrotters here. We were in the very last row for the globetrotters and still had an amazing view. Sound for the concerts was decent. The venue is on the smaller side so it allows you to get fairly close to the bands. The best thing to watch here is hockey. While the TBirds might not be doing very good in the standings they at least put on a good show. If you go on Tuesdays during the season they have great deals. Two for Tuesdays offer buy one get one free tickets, $2 beer, hot dogs, popcorn and soda. If you want to see a great game, go when the Silvertips are in town. There is definitely no love lost between them and the TBirds. read more

Been to plenty of Seattle Thunderbirds games here, and it's odd as the seats are different depending on where you sit, we had bought my brother tickets once for a game, and after words he was complaining his seat was very tight (and he is skinny as you can get) One thing I like, is the U shape of the Arena, where they have the scoreboard and no seats under it- so if you like walking around a arena you wont like it as you will have to turn around lol, they do have a nice VIP area above the seats, never been to a suite here so cant comment on that. The Parking here is free, (at least every time i have been here it was free) and easy access, short walking distance is the Kent State, which has some good eating and drinking options. If you go on a Tuesday night for a game they do have 2 for 1 tickets, and Thursday night they have deals on drinks and food inside the Arena. It is also a glass Arena so outside loks nice read more

YouMeWe event review -March 1 So our family got invited to a performance held at the ShoWare Center. Our nephew was presenting in a choir and with other instrumental plays. We arrived and the main lot was filled, went to the west side of the building to park. Our first time there and it was neat. Place was packed with children's and families, activities for nearly all ages, bouncy house, clown and freebies. We definitely would like to check it out another time to see what it's really like, like during a hockey game. read more
