Sumner, WA Candlewood Suites Sumner - Puyallup Area First off I really liked this hotel. I'll tell you why. This hotel is a newer hotel so it's clean and in great condition. It's fairly quiet considering it shares a parking lot with a Holiday Inn Hotel, a Starbucks and a 7-11 Gas Station yet there was plenty of parking spaces available. That was never a problem. This hotel is a good extended stay option. There is no oven but there's a 2 burner stove, and a microwave and the washer and dryers are completely free for registered guests to use. You supply the laundry detergent. The shower had a soap dispenser that supplied shampoo, conditioner and body gel. The shower had good water pressure. My room did not have a tub just a standing shower but that's fine I do not require more then a hot shower. The heater/air conditioner unit wasn't loud and both work fine. The hotel is four floors with two elevators in the center of each floor. They have luggage carts, guests computers in the lobby and great customer service. Employees seemed pleasantly willing to help if I had a question. There's an adequate parking lot that's free and they give you a parking pass. They have a gym next to the guest laundry. There's a 4 cup coffee maker, a strainer and table settings to accommodate two guests. The rooms have a king bed or two queen beds. The mattress was comfortable to me. The room had a good amount of power outlets as well as usb outlets. Room doors had a dead lock and additional door latch for your safety/comfort. This hotel felt very safe. There's a couple grocery store options a 10 minute drive away and a couple pizza restaurants and a sub shop nearby. Trains do pass by the hotel occasionally and you will hear a train horn however it's honestly not as loud as you'd imagine it'd be. The latest I heard a train was about 10pm they passed quickly and that was not even every night. I was never woken up by a passing train. There might have been 2 trains a day that I heard. I would definitely stay here again. read more

I want to let everyone know that the customer service here at Candlewood suites is beyond amazing the manager Trevor has the best attitude towards his customers. We showed up to stay here while needing to attend a funeral. When we tried to check in we found that somehow our reservations weren't for two weeks later. With out even a hesitation Trevor started pushing buttons on his computer and looked me dead in the eye and said, don't worry we have a room for you and we will make it all work. Then we started making calls to the third party that we booked our room thur and Trevor talked me through all the steps and answers that were needed. The staff here at this property is friendly and extremely accommodating. Check-in was fast and easy. The property is clean and very well manicured. Rooms are spacious and well kept. Everything is provided for your stay, including: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, etc, and it's not the small travel size bottles, it's full size bottles of Dove and it smells amazing. Pets are welcome during your stay for a fee, which is a big plus for me and my family. There is an on-site laundry facility and gym. During my stay, the local police department was constantly patrolling the area, so I felt very safe taking my dogs out in the evening/night hours. The hotel is nice and quiet and quite relaxing. They provided me with a late check out as my semi truck was still being service at Peterbilt nearby. Although there is no complimentary breakfast, they do have a room of items available for purchase at any time and a few food options within walking distance. read more

We have stayed here twice and both times have been great. The room was impeccably clean and well-maintained. Only complaint would be that our room slept 4 but there were only 2 plates, cups, utensils. The employees were helpful and friendly. The hotel is right by a Starbucks, gas station 7-11 and a Big Foot Java. It was a convenient off/on the freeway. I highly recommend this hotel. read more

This place is awesome! Staff was easy going and friendly and super helpful. Rooms were huge and there is a fridge with an ice maker. Laundry room is FREE and plenty of machines in the room. Pet friendly. Rooms were totally clean and nice! read more

We stayed here 2 nights and both nights people either had their vehicles broken into with things stolen or tires slashed. The staff admits it's a continued problem. They need to hire nighttime security immediately. A very unsafe place to stay! read more

Stayed at Candlewood from 6/15/2023 to 6/18/2023 (original plan was to depart 6/19/2023. Between 10 pm 6/17 and 10 am 6/18, the back right passenger window was smashed. Tools, computer, and personal papers were stolen. Professional job- door was not opened. On the following Wednesday received a notice from Microsoft - "A user from Russia/Moscow just logged into your account from a new device". While duct taping the window in the parking lot, three separate individuals stopped and volunteered that break-ins were a nightly occurrence in this parking lot. One out of town businessperson said their supervisor's rental car was stolen the first night of their stay. When I reported to the front desk, I was told they would make a note. The Sumner Police department is closed on Sunday. Online reporting with an expectation of a response in 5 days. 5 days later I have a tracking number, an incident number, and a request number. It is clear why crime is a nightly occurrence in this parking lot. Incidentally the front desk gives you a bright colored paper to put on your dash for guests parking in the lot. Apparently, it makes it easier for the thieves to avoid robbing the locals. DO NOT STAY IN THE CANDLEWOOD SUITES OR THE HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS in Sumner. read more

Horrible staff, pet feces and urine in the stairs constantly, in addition to constant dog barking all through the nights, car got vandalized (in addition to at least 5 others that I know of), housekeeping went in room and violated right to privacy (magnet was up- though disputed by management). I asked them to review the cameras and the manager looked me in the face and lied. If you're looking for rest, look somewhere else. Their security would be laughable if it's absence didn't cost its guests and tenants their valuables and peace of mind. Just a HORRIBLE place to be. After your first night, the regrets will kick in.
