I usually do my own taxes through TaxAct or some other online software, but since I recently bought a new condo and moved around a bit, as well as donating a bunch of stuff due to my moves, I thought I'd employ the services of an expert. I met with Poonam Bansal, ,who I believe is the owner. We spoke over the phone and I explained that I needed my personal income taxes completed for 2011. She quoted me a decent price and was very personable, so I went to visit her. She was really thorough and patient in explaining all my forms and what I needed to get to her. When I got back, I sent most of my stuff to her via email and in a few days, she had completed my taxes. I'm unsure if I would have gotten the same amount back if I did this on my own, but I was definitely pleasantly surprised to see my return. Just the ease of giving your taxes to someone and having it completed so quickly is a nice feeling. I will most likely use her again. Just note that she seems to be getting busy as she said she's working every weekend until 9pm, so I would assume that the closer it gets to Tax Day, the harder it will be to employ her services. read more

By far the worst person/firm ever to do my taxes. I was hoping I would get a professional to do my taxes. However, when I came into the office to drop some stuff off I found that her high school son was doing my taxes. Also, it was the least I've ever gotten back from the government which makes me think something was done wrong. I had always had them done in the past by some elder gentleman (one was a former IRS agent) and I always got a refund. It's too bad they died. Accounting Solutions was very unprofessional, they overcharged me when we agreed on a set price of $400. I'm glad I quickly found someone new who does them right and has me back in the green. Accounting Solutions does not try to help you the taxpayer but would rather give your hard earned dollars to the government. THIS EXPERIENCE WAS A DISASTER AND A NIGHTMARE!!! read more

This is my second year with Accounting solutions. Poonam and her associates are very professional and yet make you feel like family. They accept challenging items like K1 forms and don't complain like some other tax preparers. Their fees are fair considering the number of forms used. We sold our primary residence in 2013 and received a nasty-gram from the IRS a year and a half later saying we owed a lot of money on the sale (the sale of a primary residence is generally exempt from taxation). To resolve this problem, I visited Accounting Services, based on their good reviews on Angie's List. They contacted the IRS and took care of the problem right away. I couldn't have been happier with Poonam's services. I already recommended her to a friend who may need some accounting services. In the past, I have been taking my taxes to a regular brick and mortar store...I read some good reviews here and another site about Accounting Solutions and the price was very competitive so I decided to give them a try. I made an appointment, their office is upstairs of a 2 story building with a Chinese place and pawn shop. I met with Poonam and we discussed my year and she told me I would have them complete within a week. It was a pure pleasure to work with her and Roopa. I can't stress enough, not just working on my taxes, but helped me understand some unique requirements I had not bothered to ask about in previous filings, and compassionate of a situation that came up that prevented me from responding timely to their questions. This has been a nightmare that has just not stopped... we went to Poonam after our other tax guy retired and he recommended someone close by. From the word "go" her work has been consistently tardy, sloppy, and her communication has been abysmal. I can tell you she is good at two things... double talk and not filing the proper paperwork. Awesome. She filed our taxes for 2013 and was supposed to take care of informing us of everything that we needed to do in order to properly pay the IRS and SSA for our household employee. When we were dissatisfied after the late filing of our 2013 taxes, we went to someone else (at that point I just wanted her out of my life so I didn't bother writing a negative review or anything of the sort). When the new accountant looked at our 2013 taxes he informed us that she never alerted us to the fact that we had not been paying SS on our household employee! What the what! Today I received a letter from the SSA telling me that they never received our household employees' W2 for 2013! It looks like I am going to have to do some sort of exorcism to get this nightmare company out of our lives! read more

We filed our last return with Accounting Solutions in 2014 after realizing that Poonam was incompetent and dishonest at best. Oversights and errors have cost us several thousand dollars in fees, penalties, and interest. Her assurances that she would follow up to resolve issues resulting from her incompetence proved to be false.
